I honestly dont think MQ would pay everyone a base rate of 9.50 even on the new pay plan because
they hire a lot of new inexperienced people and a lot of people do clinic versus critical care etc etc. People have been making on 8 and 9 cents a line for years and they have refused raises why would they all of a sudden given people a base rate of 9.50. Find that hard to believe unless they are going to throw everything on ASR and then reduce your income by 2 or 3 cents a line. Hard to say.

Amphion would be my choice
Oracle was nice several years ago but I've heard a lot of negativity about their software recently. Maybe do an archive check of this board for these companies. Lots of useful information on here.

Unexpectedly this morning, I received a recruiting email from them. I have sort of been going over some of the companies and comtemplating making a change. I have 5+ years in my current company, and the only real thing I am looking to change is: (1) Better pay by the line; (2) Getting my weekends and holidays back to spend with my family. I currently work EVERY Saturday. Don't really mind it, but would like to be able to make plans and perhaps rotating weekends would even be okay.
I was just wondering if anyone can give me any updated insight into this company. I did a search, but the threads are several months old, and was wondering perhaps if things were any different than those posts read.
I have a lot of experience in transcription, upwards of 16 years, with probably only half of that being in acute care. Other important things to consider in my search is benefits. The health insurance at my current company is very expensive.

Those who have switched from Transcend to Amphion
Can I hear from those who have switched from Transcend to Amphion about how their pay is, have they made the same or lost money. How do you like it there and how is the WORK FLOW?
Read the posts in the archive about Heartland. That should give
you a good idea what is in store for TransTech. It was announced last week that the Heartland COO has joined Transtech as President/COO.
Why would they give you a choice of 16 or 24 hours. Usually part time is anything under 37 hours.
That is extremely odd. Well they must have something up their sleeves. Well I will be working elsewhere part time as well as with MQ as I have no intention of sitting 40 hours with no work from Amherst and be expected to have 150 lph with no work. What is all this window of work time they said they would be giving everyone. I figured all along they would do away with SE. I have already been looking around and ordered a new computer to send theirs back.
Transcend does! Give them a try.

Transcend does give you credit but I
am going into business for myself anyway this summer. Transcend has whacko management but at least you could see your lines.
Give Transcend a chance
First of all, hello to all of you from MDI-MD.
I certainly know where you are all coming from. In January of 2005, Sue and I decided to sell MDI-FL to Transcend. We worried and prayed over it. We had over 500 employees and hoped that they all would understand and stay on with us, as I felt they were the best MTs in the world. I spoke to each and every one of our MTs and explained the situation, telling them that as far as I knew nothing would change; that Transcend was a great company who cared about their customers and MTs, as well as quality, which I never wanted to jeopardize. After getting to know Larry Gerdes, the CEO of Transcend, we knew that this was going to be a great fit.
Our MTs were all a little afraid, but fortunately they believed what I told them and about 90% stayed with us and I am thrilled to say are still with us. (Thanks Deb, Sheila and Carmen for your very kind words).
I know what you are going through. Try not to be too hard on MDI-MD. I do not know anyone there, but I have heard they are an extremely nice group of people who think the world of all of their MTs and also are great to their customers. I know when we sold MDI-FL all of our MTs remained on the exact same accounts that they had been on, so I don't see why we would do anything differently now.
Yes, Transcend does send a very small percentage of our work to India - I believe 15%. This will never replace our hard-working US force of MTs.
I would just wish you all would not be so harsh on MDI-MD. In the past, I have seen many of you write such nice things about them. They didn't merge with Transcend to hurt you. After working for us for a while, you might even like it. We are very well known for our flexibility, flex-time, etc. You will see that Sue (who is now President and COO) and Larry (our CEO) both have an open door policy, the ROMs are great and the Team Leaders are also.

Okay..I'll give ya that one. I came from the MDI side as it merged with Transcend so...
I was offered more than 4 cpl per line on editing and I'm not sure why if everyone else prior had been given 3 cpl. There is no way I would do editing for 3 cpl and trust me..coming from MDI into Transcend was not happy days for us. The biggest problem that I did have was when I found out our work was getting sent to India. Nothing is worse than being told we share work with our overseas partners and have too many days of no work. I have no doubt where it was going. So, never having come from the Transcend side, where you came from, I'm only going to relay my experience and apologize if that is what actually happened there. Yikes..I rely heavily on the MTs and supervisors who came from MDI because I know they watch our backs.
And I asked Transcend to limit their posts.

I was offered a job with them. Curious as to how good their benefits are, how easy the program is, and if the dictations are REALLY awful or just as any others. Well, I know that MTs from my office have quite MQ and they dont post on here but I dont know how
many. I think MTs with MQ may be getting second jobs and just working for 2 different places at the same time which is probably the smart thing to do anymore because MQ will continue with this short TAT and as it spreads throughout other offices people will continually be running out of work especially after going on DQS.
You obviously have the wrong company. If they dont IM you, then you dont have it on..

Current Amphion employee...I'm very happy. The part of Amphion I work with has no faxes, lists,s
minor demographic work..superb QA and feedback. Fellow MTs on same account are more than willing to help and now they also have mentor program. My pay is what they said. They do have different pay for different levels.

I can earn up to 2 cpl extra if I type at least 16,000 lines in a payperiod.
I have to type a minimum of 6000 lines in a payperiod.
I am happy with this.
Base is very low
But they talk about incentives! Ah yes, incentives. Only now an incentive is being FORCED to work off hours, weekends, late nights, etc., to make decent money. Apparently MTing has now turned to settling. Do you want benefits, then low pay. Decent hours, then low pay. BUT be an IC and we'll throw you a whole penny more cause you get nothing else of course!
5 yrs ago I got 9 base from them.
I don't think 9.5 cpl is a low base rate.
I like DQS so far. I'm doing pretty good. Of course, I'm still learning my docs and putting in expansions but I'm doing about 240 to 260 lines an hour. I think that is pretty good for just getting started with them.
I don't care what other people make on their base rate, or how many lines they type. I have to pay for my living expenses and not theirs.
Once again you are way off base. I can only speak for myself
and about 20 other people who left OSi a little while back and we are all doing great, couldn't be happier, all working for a great company with awesome people. To be quite honest with you....you are our entertainment!
If things were so good at OSi you wouldn't be on here trying to draw MTs in for them. OSi is over, face it punkin!

Anyone work for them now know their base rate of pay? 12 cpl sounds reasonable to me.
That is the BASE ... you get EXTRA for
shift differential, weekend differential, QA percentage differential, and line differential - FOUR on top of the base rate. If you don't work for TT you have no business chirping in. You get paid for holidays whether you are scheduled or not. You rotate Thanksgiving and Christmas, never both in one year. I have been around the MTSO block. Transtech is the BEST. Period.

I would not base my decision on
what this board has to say. These boards are used as a place to vent. It doesn'the matter where you work, some people will be unhappy. I have worked for Transend for over 2 years and the only complaint I have is that the insurance is not what I would like to see. It is quite high and the deductibles are quite high.
Use your own judgement. If you would rather do E-Bay, by all means that is what you should do. Personally I do not like the packaging, mailing, posting, leaving feedback and everything that goes with each transaction. Too much to keep track of.

Ive worked cleaning their rooms taking people for walks, holding hands, listening to stories of horror and hope, shared art therapy moments, given hugs and support. Dont you dare judge me. Transtech pays more for evening, more for nights, more for weekends, plus they have a tiered plan. The more lines you type the more you make. You can start out making 10 cpl if you are good and are not lazy. You also get extra for not sending a bunch of stuff to QA.
No need to add when you don't state all the facts.
BASE at TT might be 4 cpl but if that's ALL you make
What with all the built-in incentives and bonuses, etc., and you're only making BASE pay, that's the MTs problem, not TT's problem. They certainly provide ample monetary incentive to do above and beyond the minimum.
