In Reply to: Who is the disgruntled and bitter one here?? - Tired of hateful posters

Thank you for getting off your soapbox…

My remarks for the most part were directed towards a Miss Willie whoever that is…who posted statements patently untrue but she then added her own advice…don’t bother with this company…

Whenever TTS has been mentioned I have always posted urging the poster who was asking for information to read all the research and shared my own process of sorting through all of it…

I explained how once I started with TTS I kept meticulous records, checked line counts against 3 dependable line counters I have used for years and TTS was always correct, this, after several posters in all caps yelling TTS cheats on line counts…then waited anxiously expecting my paychecks to get lost or be short, none on which happened, this, after several posters in all caps again screaming TTS doesn't pay cheats on you checks, and waited for the first time I would catch management in a lie or misrepresentation…this after posters in all caps screaming TTS lies…that never happened either.

In other words, I didn't take the word of some obviously angry people, took a chance, was ready for the worst and was pleasantly surprised.  I even took pains to point out both sides…how I have worked for companies that were a nightmare for me and paradise for someone else…and how both perceptions can be and are often true…and urging her or him to take a deep breath and trust their instincts…and keeping looking - like I did - even if they did decide to go  with TTS in case the all caps posters were right..

Well, they were wrong…I am still here…happier as an MT than I ever have been in a job…20 years in this field as editor, MT and management …and excuse me if I show a little loyalty for my employer…they are not all the enemy…I have posted on this board about a company when I genuinely felt there was danger in working there and have posted when I thought there was only good waiting…and I did it all what I considered reasonably and because I think we all have to try and help and support each other…I just get tired of the few negative angry posters coming out of the woodwork with their dubious comments about TTS that I myself have considered carefully and that never materialized…I have brought plenty positives and much thoughtfulness to this board…

I am glad you have time to belong to so many different forums, once I have finished  working my hours online I need my own downtime with real time friends and family and interests…they keep me honest and know me up close…a lot of people supposedly in the know have written less time on forums and more time in real life is what most home workers need for balance in their lives …that seems to make sense to me..

As for the poster who says she was just asking for info with her 'still on the crap list? question - not exactly a prejudice free inquiry - just a revision on the old  'have you stopped beating your wife?' (or husband) - get the negative out there while trying to look genuinely concerned and positive …my question to her would be, what's the scoop on you, Anon, are you still on the crap list?  It does what it does..

From now on, I am going to make up a normal for myself and post it every time someone asks about TTS and not get involved with this nonsense..there are more important things…I came to this board yesterday looking for some info on the news story that it looks like Medquist may be about to be set on by a hostile takeover and was wondering if it was a MT or former employee group…I though it was a positive development in the history of a company that consistently and willfully and greedily exploited their employees proven in a court of law…and instead found the postings about a young company caught in growing pains and a growth curve…making and correcting mistakes…there needs to be some balance is just my thought…
