Oh, yeah, remember, to search archives
just go to top of page on this forum, Company board, and type in MDI-MD in Google box. Then be sure you have your setting on search archives and click. You should pull up tons of threads. Otherwise, you can leave search the internet checked, and you also get lots of hits there, too. I just checked to be sure. Or, since a lot are recent, go to the bottom and go page by page, using your Control F feature, again typing in MDI-MD, and you can search quickly thru posts that have not been archived yet. Basically, you get trained and then type 5 jobs a day for a month or so until released from QA hold. I think those were the stats.  They use C-phones for most accounts, which you have to lease if you don't own one or want to buy.  I know there were a bunch of MTs hired the last few months, with most trainees posting on here that they did not even get 5 jobs a day to train on. It was a mess. That was really lame to me, and not a good sign.  Bad enough you're only allowed 5 jobs a day, and then they don't have that?  Wowza. So, if that would be your only gig for a month, you might want to think twice. Also, they  have a 24-hour window with a free schedule, but during the training, you have to commit to certain hours, and can't work certain days as QA is off, etc.  Lots of complicated hoops to get thru at first, for a job that was supposed to be not complicated with no schedule.  Some claim to have made it thru this process OK and are happy, but others claimed to have made it thru process and still had no work.  Since the happy folks don't seem around much anymore, I have a feeling that things might not have gone as well as they were cheering.  Or, one could guess that they are now so happy and busy that they don't have time to come here anymore, but, I don't think so.  I only see 1 or 2 regular happy posters these days, so one can only speculate.

Either way - good for you! You have to take a break from this job sometimes. It has a way of making you lock yourself into your own little self-imposed prison without realizing it. I have taken breaks and I am back at it for a year now and I do get bored but not burned out yet ;-) I'm sure I will have to take another break some day. Email me if you want an email buddy ;-)
Question for those DSG MTs that have talked about the bad sound. Is that across the board bad
sound or just certain hospitals.  Also is that DSG1 and DSG2.  I was just wondering if it is a rerecord sound or what is it.  I am interested in that company but I dont want to put up with horrible sound all day long that you talked about.

In depth, what exactly are you looking for in these psych tests?
Just "crazy" people or stressed out individuals, what? Aren't those who are truly crazy obvious to those not so crazy individuals? Why couldn't you, the MTSO, use your own judgement rather than pay for expensive psych evals?

Good judgement is part of being a good business person. I, as a MTSO, would look upon this as a failure if I could not use good judgement and hired "crazy" individuals. But then again, not everyone has good judgement I guess!

If the MTSO did hire anybody with working fingers, I don't think there would such a problem.

This is my 2 cents. I do not agree with such psych evaluations, but to each their own.

Good judgement is the key. If you don't have that as a MTSO, than you probably should not be in business, and if you are, you won't be for very long.

The reason is that a lot of MT's have had bad experiences EVERYWHERE they go, if you know what I mean. They then bash the most recent company over and over again.

The same few people seem to have worked everywhere and have something bad to say about every company.

Take everything with a grain of salt on here. It is a gossip board.

The only ones to believe the negativity about are those that do not pay or bounce their payroll checks.

The rest? Well, most are decent companies that might not be a good fit for everyone. There is not much difference between all the bigger ones except whether they send work offshore or not. Otherwise, rates are similar, benefits are similar, work load is similar.

and see how they treated their previous loyal employees. They can turn on you at anytime. Tread carefully. They seem wonderful and terrific on the outside, but.....

In all fairness, their pay is always on time and correct.

JLG has had a lot of trouble of late.  They discontinued direct deposit and then have been late paying their MTs.  Recently, they just fired their entire SR team without offering them MT positions, saying they didn't have anything to offer and yet they are advertising for MTs and you are considering them.  So why not fill openings with people already on board?


Where there's smoke, there's fire.  Too many red flags in the last two months or so.  I would pass JLG up if I were you.

after reading the negatives.  I didn't find anything negative about pay but there are consistent negative posts about QA issues and disorganization that go back quite a while if you do a search.

about Chronicle.  My own experience was:  I HATED the platform (Apex).  It's an antiquated piece of junk that is slower than molasses in January and I couldn't make any money.  QA can be moody and the rules on the account change often - hard to keep up with all the formatting junk.  The owner is nice.  The office staff is nice.  Tech support is so-so as far as helpfulness.  I did not like that I had to stop all Java updates and go back to an older version of Java, which really slowed my system down.  Pay was on time and direct deposit.  The account was okay, it was clinic and good cents per line, but there were a lot of cherrypickers who would scoop out the good reports and leave the junk for other people.  I think Chronicle may have another platform besides Apex, but I am not familiar with it - you can always ask them.
