What is their policy with regard to weekend work, and do they supply equipment?
Thanks.
An IC might be willing to purchase equipment to dial into their system if they can. nm

They do supply equipment for a (sm)
nominal lease fee. No weekends unless you want to work them.
Version 8 stinks. I would not do purchase anything to work for a company.
don't do it, unless they are paying you 12 cpl to edit the VR.
Tell them you can not afford it with the line rate they pay...he he!
Happy New Year!!
Their job is to supply the work, my job is to transcribe it!
Supply me with work and let me do my job! I am keeping up my end of the deal.
MDI-FL has India contact they supply work to. nm

I can only work with my own equipment,
computer, foot pedal, ear phones, etc....exactly out of these reasons.
Well, it wouldn't work for me - (wrong equipment).
to make hanging look like an accident (for an adult, anyway). Making it appear that it was part of a partial-asphyxiation sex act seems like the only way to do it. Unless, of course, he was messing around with some other person who fled the scene once things went wrong.
You're right, though... very sad.
How many of you actually work for more than one service
and would you recommend doing so to others? I am very seriously considering working for two separate MTSOs PT. One would be day shift and the other evenings. I am wondering if others do this and find that they have better paychecks than when working for one MTSO full-time.
Time available, equipment, work types, maybe a pop spelling quiz,

TransTech gets work from Dictaphone/Nuance; not the piece of equipment, but the co.
TT uses Dictaphone's WordClient and ExSpeech platforms.
Dictaphone (the company) contracts with MTSO's to use their equipment and they (Dictaphone/Nuance) *divide* out the work each MTSO gets. That is one of the reasons for OUR VERY LOW WORKLOAD anymore !!!! We would be better off if we worked for a company who is not Dictaphone/Nuance-dependent for work.
The very few accounts Transtech has -- mostly overflow accounts -- are Dictaphone/Nuance accounts. We TransTech MT's wait for Dictaphone/Nuance to throw a few jobs our way, which is NOT happening. All of TransTech MT's are making LESS than ever day-by-day, paycheck-by-paycheck. Heads up ! ! ! ! ! ! !
anyone work for D&L Typing Service?
Do they seem to have alot of accounts? Is pay still low?
anyone work for D&L Typing Service lately?
Looking for new info on this company. They had recent adds
Who is LK -- know TT did send some work to another service, but
but please let me know what you are saying because we TT'ers are very interested in what you are saying to us all -- I just know there is something very wrong with my line count. I have been doing this too long to not know how many lines I can get. I cannot put my finger on the problem -- I just know it does fall in my lap.
This is really disturbing to me.
If you work for a service, you are more likely to have all the specialties; however,
If an MT has for example only worked in house or for one hospital their specialties might be more limited. For instance, my first in-house job was for a hospital that specialized in high-risk OB and ortho, but the cardiology procedures and neurosurgeries were done at a sister hospital.
Now that I have worked for a service, there isn't a specialty in the hospital setting I haven't done.
Another thought - maybe, just maybe they are trying to match MTs up with the specialties they like best, not just have knowledge of - Now wouldn't THAT be a plus!
Just curious, do you work for a service? SM
I would love a 12-hour window of time.
Um, who said I worked for SS? I work for no service.
I've gotten out of the MT service ghetto. I work for a hospital. And guess what...
There are rude people here too ----> GASP!
Maybe I should quit my $18 an hour, 800 line minimum requirement with 0.06 cpl incentive for anything over 1000 lines a day, awesome health and dental benefits, work at home job because I shouldn't have to deal with rude people, should I?
Don't work for a service who offshores. Let them find someone else
nm
So all MTs that work for a large service are bad MTs compared to those sm
that work for a smaller company? That could not be further from the truth. Some of the larger companies can attract better MTs with benefits, higher pay, etc than a smaller company ever can.
I think it depends on the MTs, not the service, as to the quality of the work.
I work for one of the companies the OP mentioned and the QA standards are MUCH more strict than smaller companies I have worked for in the past.
Talking about the ones who say you cannot work for another national MT service. nm

I work for MedQuest, a radiology service provider--sm
based in GA.
Transtech DID have a service help out with their work -- I know for a fact -- about a year ago.
How long have you been with TT? Anyone in mgmt will tell you that they outsourced work to another service in the past.
Viva Transcription Company out of California. Does anyone work for this service. If so,
would you be willing to share what they pay?
I work for Keystrokes and have never heard that you had to have digital phone service (sm)
I used Embarq for about 3 months and made the change to digital because I got the letter from Embarq saying I was wasn't allowed to use the unlimited long distance that much. I also switched to digital because it is cheaper and truly is unlimited long distance at the same rate every month. I was never once told by Keystrokes that I had to have digital. The only thing they ever told me was I had to have unlimited long distance.
Surgical Notes transcription service out of Texas...anyone work there?
Do they hire employes or IC? Platform? Thanks in advance ;0
purchase
Good for you!!! Any time any of my appointments come up, I will check first, and then cancel as well and tell them why I am canceling. GOOD JOB!!
Don't purchase anything.
Not sure if they charge you for leads or not, but don't purchase anything. You can check out places like www.transcriptionresource.com to find companies, and post your resume on the boards. Most of those work at home leads places are dead links to so called jobs. I found my jobs on this board. HTH Good luck!!
Yes, purchase (or have one built)
Yes, I would like to purchase one or if it is more cost effective to have on built I would like to do that. The platform that I use now is VERY expensive. If some knows of a company that can build one for me I would appreciate the info.
also, do you have to purchase your own pedal?
xx
wow, I had to purchase mine :(

Where did you purchase your software and
Where did you purchase Medbrain from? Tks. nm

I purchase insurance independently so

You say "No one would have told you to purchase that." sm.
Did it ever occur to you that maybe the person at Keystrokes DID tell her that and that they DID make a mistake.
My children are insured by their father and I purchase my
insurance. For vacations, I work an extra day a week for a twice a month for a couple months going into the month of my vacation. As for holidays, I usually work them. I look at it as being blessed enough to have a job at home where I can be with my girls and so if my usual days off happen to fall on the holiday, I usually volunteer to work 1/2 day, usually in the evening of the holiday so I can have the day with my girls and I work after they are in bed. Hope this helps!
You can purchase that insurance online. Just go to their website. You sm
do not need to be in a group.
You want to PURCHASE your own platform? Platforms are very expensive so

$1000 toward the purchase of a new hybrid vehicle
It's a nice way for TT to encourage environmental consciousness. My husband and I are in need of a new car. Haven't made a decision yet, but we're definitely considering taking TT up on this offer.
Does anyone speak legalese? From the MDI/Transcend purchase contract- sm
I found this. Now it sounds to me like that means they possibly have a list of people they plan to let go? And they can let go the rest at any time? There was prior mention of MDI supplying T with a list of people making over $35,000. Would they be the peope on Schedule 6.11? The entire document is here: http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/858452/000119312509183673/dex20.htm
Section 6.11 Employees.
(a) Purchaser shall continue the services of the employees of the Company following the Closing except for the individuals listed on Schedule 6.11 hereof who shall be terminated at or shortly following the Closing. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, nothing herein expressed or implied shall confer upon any employee of the Company, any other employee or legal representatives or beneficiaries of any thereof any rights or remedies, including any rights to employment or continued employment for any specified period of any nature or kind whatsoever under or by reason of this Agreement, or shall cause the employment status of any employee to be other than terminable at will.
(b) Purchaser covenants and agrees that in connection with any decision concerning a Company employee’s eligibility for participation and vesting in any employee welfare benefit plan, employee pension benefit plan, or employee fringe benefit arrangement established or maintained by the Purchaser, the Purchaser will recognize such employee’s cumulative prior service with the Company.
They pay better than that now. They do not supply PC
but just like all the other companies, they do require Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs. They are nice people to work for. I have been there a few weeks.
which companies supply pc's
Does anyone know which transcription companies who supply the pc's offer good line rates and are good to work for? I am almost burned out trying to find a good company to work for.
yes, they do supply the computer, but
it'll tke them FOREVER to get it out of your house when/if you quit. I quit in Feb. and am STILL looking at that stupid machine. I still continue to get company emails, my emails go unanswered.... Communication is severely lacking, always was IMO....
OSi used to supply computers - not sure if they still do
N/M
They only supply the tower. Nothing else. nm
Do they supply C-phone?
NM
do they supply computers?
nm
Will they supply a computer? Then
If they supply computer equipment, then that could be a reason. So far the only company that ever asked me for permission to do a check is a company that would have supplied the hardware. Otherwise, I have never heard of a company wanting to check a credit report.
Do they not supply another account if you run out? (NM)

Did everyone have to supply their own computer?
I had to turn down a job because I did not have XP on my personal computer. I only spoke to one supervisor via email and she said I needed my own PC.
Does anyone know where to find a good deal on XP?
Thanks.
