condoned cherrypicking

I thought ignoring cherry pickers was bad until my hospital actually incorporated it. I started there and was amazed at the poor quality and blanks left in easy dictations. I was earning good - not great - money. They changed it so that favored workers have access to the higher paying work types before everyone else. Now some workers are making good money because management has greased the skids for them. I have dropped in salary and there is no way to return to former pay. I guess lethargy and lack of ambition sometimes pay off. Work on befriending the scheduler rather than working on your skills. Humbug.

What IS cherrypicking?
And how does it differ from slight "editing" to make a sentence sound better (how did some of these MD/DO get out of med school anyway??) But gosh, aren't we glad they did??!!
cherrypicking
IF there are cherrypickers, then they ALWAYS find a way to cheat, no matter what the system. Maybe there isn't any cherrypicking going on at Axolotl, but that's even worse, because it means that 90% of the dictation is crap and there is no hope to ever make a decent line count.
well at least they don't allow cherrypicking
it gets the point across..
Cherrypicking
If you have looked at the history and see that people are cancelling out of the job, especially if it is a bad dictator, I would send the job # to my supervisor and tell her it has been cancelled out of. I have seen jobs where 4 and 5 people have cancelled it and thrown it back. You are right, it isn't fair, so unless you speak up about it, it will continue to happen.
Cherrypicking
Gee, WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT OF THAT??? Done it repeatedly, and nothing has been done, thus, the frustration. You must either be the queen cherrypicker, herself, or management. And actually I think BWAHAHAHA sounds much more first-graderish than You will get yours.
Cherrypicking
It happens to me daily, and I keep complaining, but it keeps happening. Very frustrating. It's gotten to where I can predict when the report comes up whether or not it has been dumped by someone i.e. no demographics/difficult patient name to figure out, wrong facility, audio bad, or difficult physician. I thought that was not allowed and wish someone were paying attention. It typically is ALWAYS the same 2 or 3 MTs, and I wish there were a way they could set them up so that they could not cancel out of a job and if they did, they got it back without every time. That's the only way to learn and at the same time it gets old when you're left with the crap while others move on to the more money-making reports. Arrg!
Cherrypicking
AMEN and thank you. I have been stewing too much to even respond to the candy comment. Obviously someone in management who doesn't have to deal with it on a daily basis. And you are so right about it affecting my paycheck. Otherwise, I could care less what anybody else is doing, but how dare anybody think they are above doing the miserable dictations and throwing them back for somebody else to do.
no, this would be cherrypicking....snm
but you can delete it, type it straight and get paid the VR cpl rate.
Cherrypicking on VA account?..sm
I've heard of MTs stating that they cannot do OP reports, but can anyone think of why an MT would NEVER do a C&P report on a VA account? This particular MT only types PN, H&P's, and DS. Is this the supervisor favoring this person and routing only these worktypes her way or is this person cherrypicking which reports they will type? I get several C&P's a day, and they do kill productivity as they are usually 15+ minutes of dictation to do, but I didn't think we had a choice on a VA account....
Does TransTech have cherrypicking too?
x
Yes, I really agree with the cherrypicking!
But if you talk to the superviser they will asign you some of the better work to break up the harder work.
This post has cherrypicking all over it.
Don't forget the cherrypicking
that is rampant and never addressed. We might as well ALL throw jobs back that we don't want to do because they kill our line count. Here's a news flash, especially for P.S., who is one of the biggest cherry pickers there is, anybody can see what you're doing when they click history. This is also being documented and there are reports printed every so often that shows every person who cancelled a job. You people sicken me. Do you think you are more special than the rest of us and can just throw back the junk for us to do? Well enjoy it while it lasts. If it were up to me, your days would be filled with assigned jobs by everybody you throw back. Once there is enough documentation, you will get yours.
cherrypicking/history
There is no way to look up another person's history to my knowledge. What you can do and what anybody can do when you are in a report is do Alt-G, then click the button that says history. This will show you every person who touched that job. Obviously if that information were so confidential, the big button saying history would not be there for anybody and everybody to click. I think the only people who would be disturbed that others are looking at the history are the cherrypickers.
love cherries but not cherrypicking
routing the best jobs to your buddies
If QA types they have nothing to gain by cherrypicking
This is true for any company. I used to type as well as do QA. I never skipped -bad- jobs because they would end up in QA anyway because the other MTs couldn't do them. Believe me, QA does not love a bunch of reports in QA because it clogs up the system. So I did them no matter how hard they were. I have never worked for Transtech but speaking from experience I can't imagine why a QA at any company would cherrypick jobs only to be stuck with them later in QA.
If the work is not assigned to you, then someone is cherrypicking...nm

Team Lead Help with Cherrypicking
If you are a team lead for the Web, can you tell us who else can we tell if our STM doesn't seem to want to do anything about it when you have complained? What other option do we have?
Cherrypicking is when you work from a pool of jobs and being able to reject the worst jobs to those
