Mary/writer has written a post to the company board stating that she had filled the position. She thanked people for their posts. I think she was taken aback by one very mean email she received. I am surprised she didn't get far more. Of course $25 for three hours of work is ridiculously low, but I bet she could have been treated much more nicely. Some of the people who post on here are so unkind. I don't think they would be happy anywhere with any amount of money. How disheartening.

Disgusting. I'm disgruntled, too. Just got an E-mail asking for help from some newbie on my secondary on which there are only a couple dozen jobs. My primary is out and my STM will not give me a 3rd. I had a 3rd, but we lost that hospital in June. Sick of it.

Start reading. This is an Indian based company. There were recent posts over the past few days about this company.
I used Apex with another company and it was awful. I'd do a full page of transcription and it'
out to be like 30 lines. There is no way. I quit after 2 days. I felt like the reports were easy but I was not working all day for $6 an hour.
Archives doesn't mean it is old info necessarily. If you'll go to the main company page, typ
JLG in the search box, make sure the MTStars circle is checked and click on search you'll find lots of current information. This is considered archived information but there are posts are recently as last week there.

You'd better check out the Company
Board on them. Doesn't sound like a very good place to work. Posts say they charge you for using their software, etc. and pay using Paypal. Click on Company Board, put Medgarde in search and you'll see what I'm talking about.

My thought too which is why I did a check on the company
and apparently the company does some transcription. I also have a watch on my credit report, etc., so will know if I am a victim of identity theft. I will know where to start looking!!
I have a check from an MT Company that is dated 2/16. I have not been able to-sm
cash it because when I call the bank the funds are not available. What recourse do I have?? I really could use the money. I know I can't get blood out of a turnip though so I realize I may be out this $$. Someone told me if I deposit the check and it bounces I can report her to the DA for a bad check. Is there anything I can do just knowing it is no good???? Thanks.

I transcribed for Compuscribe years ago. Had no problems, just low pay but no problems.

Never had a bounced check either. I can see why you would worry though. Maybe they will do the switch eventually.
It is an Indian run company. If you'll check the archives they
have been asked about several times the last month or so. There has been nothing good said about them.
I think AllType should check out her BBB profile. I wouldn't want her representing my company
She can dispute owing MTs anything but how do you explain away having unsatifactory business practices with numerous complaints. Apparently, AllType doesn't care. Amazing...
Gosh..does this company start with an F. In any event, you need to double check with your insurance
provider to see the exact date the policy was cancelled. Sometimes, companies have to pay preminums ahead of time. I would just make sure and if they are still taking the money out, you need to send a certified letter telling them to return your money at the point you were paid up and the policy cancelled or reinstate the insurance. Why pay for something your not getting.

Credit check, FBI check was not for
me. The notion that if you don't pay your bills means your not a responsible person really kills me!!! Lots of people have $$ problems, especially if you are an MT, LOL!!! They are the only company I know that does these checks. Seems a little anal to me!!!

Maybe the people aren't still there, but they're experiences weren't good. Companies don't change that radically. If there are problems like that, it's because of major philosophical problems in the company. If after reading those posts you'd still want to pursue testing with them, well, all I can say is good luck. I'm sure we'll be hearing from you later.

Thank you. It's $2.50 per pay page on a sliding scale. I do not really understand it and that's why I do not really know what questions to ask. Thanks for the input.

To me it there are too many variables to quote a per page rate, font size, margins, etc. You can have anywhere from 50 to 66 lines for full page depending on margins and font, so at .012 per line, that is quite a difference. Also what do you do for 20 or 30 lines, as they could both be half a page? That is just my opinion though. Could work in your favor and could not. If they use a small Arial 10 font, takes a lot more lines to fill up a page than Courier 12.
I Get $2.75 per page
I type for an insurance company doing claim tapes and I charge by the page. It works out well for me. I type in Tahoma 10. Even if a page is just one line long I get paid the full rate.

How on earth do you charge by the page? I have never been paid by the page but only by the line. Luckily, I found the job through the local paper and they will let me work from home (only 5 minutes away). There is a big psychiatric hospital down there street. Thanks for all of your help. I about gave up on transcription.

I, along with others, have elabored myself on MDI, which is probably on next page now.
It is a great company that will do everything they can to take care of the MT. They have a positive QA team, etc. Personally i think they are the best company around.
