that's apples and oranges
T shirts and transcription?
you are lost my dear one.
I am sorry too about the global competition.
apples, oranges, prunes...oh my! n/m

Apples/oranges. Even though the motive...
is the same for the offshoring of material products as for MT (i.e., corporate greed), buying a foreign-made alarm clock or VCR is _not_ the same thing as having one's *personal medical information* sent offshore where there is no ability to enforce HIPAA.
Aren't we talking oranges and apples right now? None of us know how many lines
we have been doing it all that long.
And people who are doing such as the person above at 2400 lines a day (?8 hours)...are those editing lines or are those transcribed lines?
Are those 2400 lines lines of of decent reports, or the reports that are going to be left after the easy ones are fed into voice recognition for editors?
This is not an easy conversation to have because there are too many variables.
Bad Apples
It is true that there are some QA who have taken advantage of their hourly wage. I've worked with them personally. Those are the ones that should be weeded out. Let them go. Don't assume that the rest is the same and treat as a group in whole. There are some of us who work hard for our money and we are struggling to make ends meet these days because of these bad apples who simply messed it up for all of us. If you want quality, treat us like quality. If you want quantity, pay us per line. Fire the QA who live up to the standards. Let them go back to production typing. Than they can take their hour breaks.
A few apples try to spoil the whole bunch but cannot...sm
I am happy with FN and say it with pride. Every situation is not always a good fit for all parties involved. Had I listened to all the negative energy exerted on this board about 95% of the transcription companies I would not have never had a job with any company. When YOG was still in existence people complained about Carol and she was crazy, she was this. Guess what, never had a problem with her, paid on time and made plenty of money. My problems came when MQ took over. Needless to say had a wonderful working relationship with Rita, April and many others then and it's still the case now.
If you took a vote, the people happy with FN would far outweigh the unhappy ones.
It's over, move on and find another job.
Take a look at the person looking back at you in the mirror, trying fixing yourself first, and find some peace and happiness within self. Then and only then will things really start to fall into place.
Never heard of stars and apples
I believe there is a threat to lower pay, although I've never had low scores to find out. I have never heard of stars and apples. I've been around over 7 years and QA has always been about numbers.
