Another reason to stay absolutely sm
up to snuff with what current standards are and what large MTSOs want to see. I've seen many people with 15-20 years in who can't pass a test because they are creatively editing what is dictated, transcribing incorrect or prohibited abbreviations, or making gross errors on their tests.

I have worked for them almost 2 years and have been totally and completely happy. They treat you great. The account I work on is internet based with an excellent platform using MS Word. I would highly recommend this company.

Good accounts, pay on time via direct deposit, higher pay than most, smaller company where people still know you by name and truly care. As for the platform, you type in Bayscribe and send your reports in live via the web site. Some accounts are converting to wav files, and some are still via C-phone and you have to pay your own long distance.
Of course, as with all companies, one man's paradise is another man's hell, so I am sure there are those who will disagree with me. If I can answer anymore questions, fee free to ask.

Pay is direct deposit and always on time. The account I'm on is relatively easy, although there are a few ESLs. I've been there 6 months now, and am very happy.
I absolutely LOVE Inscribe
Everything is so user friendly, and I love the fact that you can see what jobs are coming up and you can print them, so you know how much work there is actually on the system and how much you have produced. It is the BEST that I have seen out there!! Hope that helps.
I absolutely love Allscripts...
I've used quite a few platforms and Allscripts is just about my favorite. MS Word-based, and the count on the account I was on (no headers/footers) was accurate with Word's count. If the authors/account use markers the demographics fill in quickly; the environment is very clean and efficient, simple and easy to understand, moving really smoothly from one job to the next with little-to-no fuss. Get in and out of the program very quickly, too. I think you will love it! 
I work there and absolutely love it. You
set your schedule each week in 2-hour blocks each day. You have a minimum production per day you have to do and you need to work sometime within the blocks of time you schedule yourself.
Absolutely love my job at Meridian.

I, like you, have read some of the newbie's questions and if a person thinks VR can train a newbie, then apparently they don’t know 1 thing about VR. I have worked in this field since 1973 and as matured as I am, you have to be on your toes all the time whether straight or VR and it is not a teaching machine. Why people on here get the idea that being slower, having lack of experience in MTing or whatever better qualifies them to work on VR, I have no clue where that comes from.
I love Heartland and want to stay
I went through the training program and I loved it. Yes at the start you may only be doing a few jobs and waiting on feedback, but you are being paid by the hour doing this time. My sups were great and help me so very much and i keep in contact with them via e-mail all the time. I could have had first shift, but being a single mom i asked for thirds and i sleep while my kids are all at school. They train you on jobs and docs on the accounts you will go live on which i think is a big plus. In regards to not getting paid when there is no work. Just in the recent past the have now started to pay us our hourly rate for stand by time. You must check for work every 15 to 20 min. I was given many helpfu websites from my sups, and we was just given a new bonus program and rates also!!!. We have not been sold and on the last update we was given they had not even narrowed it down to 1 bider and that in itself does not mean HCR will sell. I love my job with Heartland and hope i can continue so. We get health, dental, vision, 401K, we get 10 days vacation after one year, 40 hours PT, 6 sick days a year and of course holidays. I myself cannot say anything but good about all those i have work with at Heartland.
I absolutely love it and make lots of $$$ on it. sm
Been working with eScription for about 6 years now and absolutely love it. Would not want to go back to straight transcription ever.
I also make great money with it ~ at least $50 an hour, consistently.

I believe the concensus is you either love it or hate it. I personally love it and make lots of money.
I can't afford to stay with VR. If they paid more, I'd stay.
The situation sucks. I really liked this company when I started there. I know they read these forums, and they are aware that we are unhappy over VR line rates. They stroke us with cute emails and say we're the best, but I can't feed my family on praise. They're turning into another MedQuist, and so I'll be leaving.

Stay low and stay very, very quiet. Do not
ask questions, do not talk to the supervisors unless forced to. The answer will always be the same, that you are the only one who has an issue, everything else is perfect. Never mention anyone's name. This place has the mentality of the Borg, everyone has been assimilated, which means if your supervisor does not like you, or does not like your friend, you have no chance. You associate with so and so, so you are exactly like them. That quickly goes through the Borg network and every team lead, ROM, and person in management, including HR, is aware of it. You'll be labeled a trouble maker and your life will not be worth living. Any trial to clear your name will be done in the fashion of the trial of witches. You are in a dunking chair - if you drown you are innocent but it is too late by then.
Remember, a ROM never makes a mistake and never tells something that isn't true. They are perfect (and nastier than a pack of hiennas.)
If you run out of work, it is your fault. You are just lazy. Can't make enough to take care of your family? Too bad, you need to work harder.
And forget getting an answer from management. It doesn't
happen. So, as before, stay low and very quiet.
And do a good job? You can be assured that if you do a good job, do what you are supposed to do, and stay quiet, no one will even recognize your name. They have no idea where you work, what your schedule is, or that you even belong to Transcend.
Yes, I finally did.
Very, very small local company. I'm crossing my fingers that this will be my home for awhile. It's been a difficult journey trying to find some place that did what they said they were going to do, doesn't offshore and has enough work.

You are correct. So many of the people act like teenagers on this board that I have found myself coming here less and less. It's no fun to sit and listen to griping, complaining, cussing, and down right rudeness on here all time time.

Hip-hip Hooray, finally
someone explains exactly what is happening at MQ even at ST.Louis office. They put so many people on the accounts, you get switched back and forth from account to account. It is feast or famine in a way. During my scheduled shift, which they asked for, there was no work. If I was willing to switch accounts daily and multiple, and sit on the computer and wait for work, I could make the line count, but I had to sit and wait and watch when the work was available. This was ridiculous.
I finally learned
after three months of lies and late paychecks I quit. Great docs, but if you can't get your money, it doesn't really matter. Don't do it!
FINALLY THE TRUTH ABOUT OSI
About a year ago one of the owners, Andy Renfroe was speaking for all of the owners and sent a companywide email after OSi got caught sending work to India. This is a portion of the email that he sent to OSI employees, and this is why people quit and are still quitting OSI in droves - because OSI never admitted this until they got caught! This is the truth and you can take it with a grain of salt if you want to.

RAD MTS-good pay finally
Just got put on an acct for 9 cents per gross line plus $1.00 per report, did not know how it would work out because by other account pays 14.5 cpl. Well, let me tell you I am making 10-13 dollars more per hour, what about that!!!!

Well I finally did get all my pay, minus the western union fees. But what it took me to get it was almost not worth it.

From what I can see you are upset about 50 lines a day; 1/2 of 1% 0.50%. Yes that adds up over a payperiod, but it's still a small difference.
How many lines did you lose doing all this posting? :) kidding.
It's up to you how much you stress over this, but you may see conspiracy here when all it is an internal calculation that doesn't count a signature line for example - where your counters do.
Is it really outside the realm of possibility that there is no intent to defraud here?
finally quit!
just quit my job yesterday and a weight has been lifted. I had been experiencing a lot of issues in the past 6 months and finally thought to my self, I've had enough!
I finally did leave!
Paradise has been found right here in my own back yard. Actually, it was always there, I just needed to kick myself in the arse to make the move back there...so glad I did....like you have no idea how glad! I actually LOVE my job again. Small MTSO, lovely ladies, not too bad pay, and the best part is the the mental anguish has completely disappeared.
I feel so badly for the people still trapped there. There are some fantastic people there who deserve so much better but, like me, have to stay because, well, you gotta do what you gotta do. If I still had to carry insurance for my husband, I'd still be there, pissin' and moanin' and growing more bitter day by day.
My faith in home-based medical transcription has been restored and yes, I feel rejuvenated and back to my old self again. Thanks for askin!

have to drop mine until I find a plan on my own. I just can't afford over $500 per month anymore.

and tells it like it is. It's sad that the MTs, who are the mainstay of the transcription business, consistently get the brown end of the stick. MTSOs and QAs are the only ones that have a right to make a living, right? Our kids deserve to eat 3 meals a day, just like theirs do. The busy MTSO and the QA who thinks filling in blanks or looking something up is beneath him/her needs to wake up. Since when is their time better than ours?

The ax finally falls at TT
Email went out today that everyone is now being asked to make speech editing a part of our daily routine! Stated traditional is now the exception and not the rule anymore and we must all move in the same direction to remain competitive.
This was the LAST thing I wanted to hear, but I sure knew it was coming judging by the way work has dwindled compared to what was available a year ago, whether it be holidays or the middle of the year. I have no desire whatsoever to move towards speech and I am very upset knowing I have to. It is not that I am against trying it, I have just gathered the opinion from this board that more than not do not like it and do not make as much money. I absolutely cannot afford to take a cut in my paycheck in these times.
Not even 1 hour later came another email touting the great responses and lots of them! Well, everyone at TT already knew they could try speech at any time...so why wait until today to inquire if they were so excited?

It seems in some ways as if TT will hire just about ANYBODY. I too have been shocked at the quality of the transcription from some of the other TT MTs. TT just doesn't pay that well, either. I do like the people in the office. They are very nice. But, unfortunately, nice won't pay my bills.
FINALLY, offshoring to take a hit.
 Did anyone see the news conference this morning where the administration is going after the offshore companies? No more tax credits/loop holes for sending OUR jobs overseas. Yay, yay, yay! Now, maybe we can finally turn things around.
