Call your ROM or TL, and they will point you in the right direction. I think you have a full three months to make up your quota.

I love my job but I think I lost my insurance benefits. Has anyone else not met the pay period quota
one time and had their insurance taken away? I think it happened to me. I fell short this payperiod on my time ($90) as I was ill for a couple of days and had no PTO time to use. Now, my insurance premiums were not taken out so I am afraid they canceled my insurance, which was the largest reason I have stayed. I needed the good insurance etc..not to mention that I just like working there and my supervisors. I did make more than enough for them to have taken out the premiums so I feel like this was just an excuse to cancel it. Now, if I have to wait another 120 days to qualify again, I will have to end up quitting and that is not a great feeling, but I know I can get a job somewhere else and not have to wait so long to have insurance again. I'm just sickened. I can't believe they would do this in one pay period. I work 7 days a week usually, all hours of the day and night and I just can't grasp they would do this. I have worked there over 2 years. So, do they really do this, for anyone who has had this happen before. Maybe, they are just suspending the insurance this pay period but I don't see how they can stop it one pay period and start it back in 2 weeks on the next pay period. Anyway, stressed out!!!

I just quit WMX a few weeks ago, but worked there almost 3 years. You do not lose your benefits if you can't make your hours because of lack of work availability. However, you COULD lose them if you don't work your scheduled hours and don't account for them with PTO or non-paid time off, per your supervisor.
Does that mean you guys lose benefits?
When they say status, does that involve everything that goes part and parcel with being FT? I don't know what kind of a benefit package, if any, MDI-MD had, but as if selling you off to the highest bidder wasn't bad enough, they're going to strip you of full-time bennies, too, including taking care of payroll taxes, etc.?
I myself have always been either late getting to the dance or early leaving, so I've never had the misfortune of going through what you guys are, and I hope to God I never do.
Where I work I was told I had to get them in or be put back to PT status and lose benefits. nm

If your hired FT and you fail to meet line counts, you'll lose your benefits including any PTO
that you have acrued. So, it's best to stick to what you signed up for or you'll get moved to PT status and have no benefits.
So SE lose their SE bonus, lose the ability to work as much or little as they want and just
basically lose all around with no gain that I can see. Well, good for MQ. I am sure a lot of people will be moving on.

You mentioned levels, so they pay according to your ability, and depending on your abilities you will get easier or harder doctors to type for? Are there a lot of ESL? What about the benefits and starting pays. Someone said they have BC/BS and it is $75 for single, but my husband is 75 years old, so most likely insurance would be out of this world, and what about PTO to include sick, vacation, and holidays? Am seriously thinking of a change, but was thinking maybe part time at first, and then if all worked out, going to full time. However, at this particular moment, I do not have high-speed internet. We are hoping to have it within the next couple of months though - if they can in between the hills and trees as we are out in the middle of no where. Thanks.

Does anyone know a company that has benefits for part-time? I know they are rare, but I remember seeing some, but cannot find them now. I am not so much interested in insurance as PTO, 401K, etc.
Does SPI really offer benefits? The last time I checked they did not.

I work part-time for them, so I cannot help you regarding benefits. sm
The pay scale seems a bit on the low side (I started at 0.0825), but you are an employee, so they take out taxes and such, which is a plus for me, and you can raise your rate of pay according to how many lines per hour you type. I do not have the tier right in front of me, but it is something like 150-170, add .015 per line; 171-215, .035; 216-230, .05; and so on. I type 300 LPH on my full-time job but cannot seem to average more than 250 at Webmedx, so not sure if it is the way they count lines, or maybe I am just not used to my account yet. The sound quality on some of the hospitals on my account is absolutely AWFUL, and no one seems to be addressing that, so that is a down side.
They have their own platform and supply the computers. Someone said you have the option of using your own computer, but when I asked, they said I had to use theirs, so I don't really know. I would much prefer mine, but I did get a switch so I only have to use one monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
They charge a $125 deposit for the computer, taken out in installments of $25 per pay period, refundable when you quit and return the computer.
The pay is direct deposit and always on time.
I know they have benefits such as medical, dental, and vision, and a 401k, but I do not know the details.

Great benefits, plenty of work, pay on time
Depending on experience, slightly above-average pay. I used to be with a company where I would have given my right arm for those few simple things. As for the posts below regarding line count, IF this (or any other concern) was affecting my work, there's a new invention called a telephone that comes in handy when wanting to address concerns (and their phone number is on their website).
if you don't need the benefits, i recommend part-time flex...
Part time flex requires 2,000 lines per week minimum, but you can do more if you like. You need to submit a schedule, but some production supervisors are flexible...mine is very flexible.
They do not provide equipment. Platform is DocQScribe and is great.
I have been with MQ for about 7 years, and they have been very good to me. I have great accounts but low work volume on them. Always seem to be overstaffed on my accounts, but that is why I have a backup with another company.

Webmedx - Benefits and Full-Time Status
I'm a bit surprised that I haven't seen any posts regarding the new requirements to be considered full time at Webmedx beginning in 2009 -- 40 hours per week rather than the previous 35 per week.
I guess it doesn't surprise me completely, but I'm not all that happy about it. An extra hour a day of work isn't high on my list of activities I want to add to my day. I already have a hard time fitting everything in.
Anyone else want to share their feelings about it?

Not sure what you are talking about, but there is no difference. Everyone I have spoken to is really excited about the merger with Transcend.

It is perfectly legal. You need to be FT to get benefits. You need 12000 lines to be full time. I
period so there is no issue. Why do some people here try to make everything ugly?
What the person did NOT say is that it is averaged by quarter. So if you do 12,000 lines one time, 15,000 the next and 10,000 the following, it will balance out. They also do not count it against you if your account is slow.

QA quota
When I worked at Amphion, we were expected to do 100 reports per 8-hour shift. Most often I did at least 80 which could be a stretch depending on what else was going on so I understand your concern.
OTI gives you a weekly quota. sm
You work when you want during the week. They ask you to commit to one weekend day.
Furthermore, I was on only one account, and worked that same account every day. The work was plentiful. Since I wasn't hopping around on various accounts, I customized everything and made a zillion macros. It was very good for money.
It was the best job I ever worked. I had to leave because I needed benefits.
DSG - QA, line quota, how they pay Qs
Questions for DSG QA folks. Do they pay per hour or by line? I heard someone say by the line, but then someone else say they had to give feedback. I have never worked for someplace that paid you by the line AND expected you to give feedback also. If it is by the line, do they have a daily quota?

Has anybody out there ever used all accessible shortcuts, typed steadily, and seen after a grueling 8, 9, 10 hours lines equalling approx 77 per hour? I refuse to think myself as doing something wrong: Just want to hear from ANYBODY who has done what s/he can, yet finds him/herself always unable to meet productivity. I am at a crossroads right now so it is a good time to leave transcription, but I cannot believe my forays into at-home land yield the same results: exhaustion, impossible quotas, and the sneaking suspicion that the nearly-industry-wide policy of not paying for headers is cruel, immoral, and unethical--CONSIDERABLE quality time is spent on getting this info right, and what automatically populates must often be, umm, massaged by our exhausted fingers. I would love to hear any comments from anybody about how they met productivity. I would need to increase by almost 100% in order to barely tread water: I cannot do it. Just wondering how all you VERY hard-working people survive. Wish there were an emoticon for throwing in the towel.

I can't make mine, either. A 15-16 minute dication will only yield me about 100 lines. I'm fed up, but scared to death to leave this field and embark on a new career at my age.

Most companies require a certain quota be met
Even as an IC I committed myself to 180 reports a day. I do anywhere from 180-225. I did not sign a contract but did commit to it.

I am working all the time editing/fixing and trying to remember all the rules for each account. I do not see with the way the platform is ever being able to make the amount needed to keep my insurance, and they have already extended my insurance for me before. I thought when I started doing more editing I might be able to get more lines, but then I would have to do double the lines, and with the way the reports are looking when I see them there is too much fixing to ever get there. It looks like when the computer does not know what the doctor is saying in plain English it just types whatever it wants. It is actually amusing how it comes up with a whole sentence of unrelated words.

No, they did not just raise the minimum at TT. The quota is 5500 per week for FT
and I have not had any problem whatsoever reaching it.

My employer did not post their line rates because each person can make something different. Their pay is based on testing and years of experience. I am really glad I didn't substitute this as automatic low pay or I would have missed out on the best opportunity to make what an MT should make with GREAT, affordable benefits.

I think that you are all missing something here.
Maybe you all are missing my point. I have posted this same ad locally via the radio station. I took 3 jobs. Two of them paid me twice what I should have been paid (these were long jobs that averaged me about $25/hr...total of about 16 hours...you do the math). The other one has a very good chance of turning into a paid position. I am not trying to scam any hard-working transcriptionists out there. I am not trying to take away your work. I am simply trying to help anybody out. Remember, this will help me in the future. I am thinking ahead. BTW, my school does help students get jobs. I am not stupid though. I will not put my future solely in the hands of one group. I have learned by listening to all of you...networking is the key! So, to all of you out there who are complaining about my proofreading, I am sorry. I am a student and offered to work for free. Realize that I am far from perfect. I am still learning. I am in school, working, taking care of two rugrats and all of my household duties. Knowing this, the fact that I am willing and able to take on even more work should only speak towards my character. I am a hard-working person, I cannot stand a minute of sitting and doing nothing. What I was proposing was to help anybody who would benefit from it. In return, I could benefit from your expertise. I have to learn somewhere. I did make the mistake of choosing a school that may not be the best but I am trying to make up for that by becoming your little helper. I want to benefit from a seasoned Transcriptionist telling me what I did wrong. Why are you all so scared of that? Also, might I add that I am an adult, I am not stupid. I will not take a job from overseas. I will not take a job without looking into it. I warn people that I am still learning and that I may not be perfect. Did I not say that I wanted a letter stating if I did good or bad? I am willing to take my chances. I have to start somewhere. I want to learn and better myself.
