LOL - You took the words right out of my mouth.

Don’t put words in my mouth, what I am saying is
I would rather have $5.00 than absolutely no money at all. Anyone who does not understand this has something wrong with them. I do not work for that but she quit her job without anything else no now 0 money. Now do you understand?
You are putting words in my mouth....sm
so to speak. I never said I have not looked for work while employed or looked for better benefits, platform, etc. And of course I have found companies where the negatives outweighed the positives and caused me to look for work elsewhere. There is nothing wrong with that. What I am against is an MT purposely hiring on simultaneously with multiple companies to weed out those she/he finds unacceptable. To me, that is highly unethical, and I am quite sure most MT companies would agree. In fact, there are some companies that prohibit working for other companies while in their employ.
My whole intent and purpose in posting originally was the hope of shedding a different light on the MT profession, but apparently there are so many here who are so bitter and angry that they refuse to see any other side but their own. Bitterness is a vicious animal that will eat away at you, leaving one empty and desolate while the object of one's bitterness remains unscathed. Do you really think that is the solution to the MT industry's problems?
I don't wanna put words in the company's mouth
because I don't know if the insurance type/coverage varies from state to state or not. I have to provide insurance for both my husband and I (through DeVenture) and well, that does take a bite out of the ol' paycheck I must admit. However, when I was getting just coverage for myself, so long as I made 7000+ lines a week, they paid 90% of the cost, and that wasn't too shabbyof a deal at all.
Definitely need the Sted's Derm&Immuno Words and a Path&Lab Words to do derm. Lots of weirdness!
s
Sted's Ortho Words, a lab words book, at least 1 drug book, and your AAMT BOS 2nd

I think you need to check your mouth
9 cpl/gross does NOT equal 13 cpl/character, maybe 11 but not 13.
This was from the horse's mouth.
Perhaps you need to get a new horse.
Remember the packet changes are effective January 1, not today.
It's unfortunate you aren't being paid for downtime. I was paid several times for 40 hours, when my hours fell short.
I see the packet as MQs move to finally consolidate EVERYONE onto the same plan of management so this ridiculous "but my office says and it's true" stuff can stop.
The horse's mouth would be
The Administrator can only go by what she is told by the company directly or an MT has to produce proof that they offshore before she prevents them from posting on this board.
Mush Mouth
THOSE are the words that describe exactly what I have had to type also, so I REALLY feel bad for you. I have spent half an hour on a 60-second report, so OBVIOUSLY, my line count is going to be pathetic. But when I say that I'm having a hard time due to short, difficult reports (trying to put it nicely as opposed to doing mush mouth reports!!), I just get told that they have MTs that do short reports just like I'm doing, and that they have no problem making 1000 lines a day. RIGHT; WRONG!!! There is NO way to make 1000 lines a day when you have short reports and mush mouth dictators, which unfortunately, most dictators do NOT dictate clearly. What irks me is some of them could easily dictate clearly, but they just start dictating in this tired, slow voice. I'm sure they are probably overworked and under paid also, but it's just as easy to dictate a report clearly as it is to dictate it muffled and mush mouthed. I left MT for a few months and then got desperate and went back to work, but it hasn't even been a month, and I'm already tired of the same old problems as above. I have no normals or templates that I know of, just a bunch of doctors dictating the same old stuff. Am about ready to quit, once again. I need the money, though, so I don't have any options.
Are you a typical TT MT, with that mouth???
x
Thanks. Maybe better keep my mouth shut. (sm)
My main account is one of those with boldings on and off all over the place. Really a pain on ASR work.
Unless this gets to be more than a couple of minutes at a time I will just sit back and consider myself lucky.
Thanks for your help.
from the horse's mouth
Per company e-mail from Transcend CEO, the merge is with Transcription Relief Services.
I think it's somebody running their mouth
nm
I have never been one to keep my mouth shut -this happened to me,and
I told the supervisor, who did put a stop to it. Turns out this girl was assigning herself the good work and the supe didn't watch it. However, I have also heard of other supes who just let it go, and if they did that after you mentioning it, I'd be on my way out the door, for sure.
Also, most of these positions are word of mouth.
You do not see these positions advertised because it is about knowing each other and word of mouth.
directly from the horses mouth
nm
The reason people bad mouth them is
because not everyone has it as peachy as you do. Some are constantly in the c-pool or run out of work. Some have PS's that do not communicate anything. Some have ASR accounts that are so bad they have to erase everything and start all over. Some get reprimanded for punching in 5 minutes late while some punch in an hour late and get no discipline.
Some have rad accounts that pay for each separate body part while others lump it all into 1. I don't do rad personally, but I've seen enough of it to know that it doesn't pay fairly - it's by the report with some reports being counted as 1 while some are separated into reports per body part.
While I'm about 75% happy with MQ, there are many that aren't that happy and even some that are happier than that. There are just too many variables at MQ, which is probably what irritates me the most. Second in line is the fact I haven't had a raise in more than 5 years and my current pay rate isn't that great. I personally don't care for E-time (our timecard system), but that's because I don't like any timecard system.
The best advice I can give you is if you are currently employed, do not quit that job until you've tried out the new place for a while and you know it's a good fit. Good luck.
Yeah, probably spoken from the mouth...sm
of someone who has never suffered ONE SINGLE hardship in her pampered life. Put yourself in someone else's shoes. Some of you on this board........you may have it made and do not NEED this job as your sole income. some of you have probably NEVER had a hardship or anything happen to you. If you are fortunate to have never known hunger, poverty, etc.........good for you.
For some of you, this job is just a hobby, for MORE it is something we do because we HAVE TO WORK AND HAVE TO MAKE MONEY, PAY BILLS, EAT, AND ALL the other things that we need just to LIVE.........
another poster shooting off their mouth sm
when they don't have a clue.. I am off today, not that its any of your business. BTW, how do you know how much I am posting if you are not reading? AHHHHHHHH but I guess you can type and read posts too right? Get a life!

These are my figures bases on FT 160 hours.
So if do 20,000 lines per pay period equals
10,000 lines per week = 250 lines an hour per 8 hr (every hour)
you get 7.5 cents a line Woww eee
($1500 a month - so work 40 hours a week X 4 equal 160 hours equal ONLY $9.37 hour for all the skill and accuracy.
I thought this was mgmt also but kept my mouth shut...nm

Foot in mouth. Sorry :) I never heard it mentioned.
I thought that Mantis was the OSi platform.
If the hospital employees know, then the company knows. Keep your mouth shut and get out.

thank you! I'll consider that straight from the horses mouth..so to speak.

I've heard good and bad, just want facts from the horses mouth.
I have also heard great things about this company, only recently have I heard bad things. If they post on this message board they supposedly do not offshore work. The moderator would definitely have something to say about that, don't you think?
Does that make sense to you?
With your negative attitude, poor spelling skills and foul mouth,
I'm inclined to side with the MTSO on this one.
In other words
at least on my reports it is counting each character and space correctly, yet line counts remain much lower on DQS. Numerous others have posted the same thing here.
WORDS R' US
Hello-- I do know for a fact that the company is legit, as I live in the same city as the company. Dont know much about pay, although I do remember that they pay by the dictated minute. Hope this helps!
WORDS R' US
That would be Belleville, IL.
a few words
I don't know how much you know about the internet but posting in all caps is the equivalent of screaming and you seem to be screaming alot in your post below..
Just briefly, you seem to be posting as an MT, citing your experience with platforms, difficult QA programs, transcribing off the clock - yet you write about concerns that are definitely those of management, getting staff to show up for work, work flow, if you can't work that shift don't apply, we created offshoring so all of you MTs out there… Most MTs I know are concerned with work pools, fair treatment, honesty, timeliness of payroll, quality of dictators, line rate, etc. I have enough respect for the MTs and management that read this board to be able to intuit whether you are an MT or not or exactly what the motives of your post were; maybe to score points, I don't know, but whatever your motive, your post does not address my post at all..
In a very few words without any caps I told the MT asking the question about my experience. My post was truthful and I went out of my way to tell her that my experience didn't mean it would be the same for her and even indicated such things are hard to determine. I don't know if she was an Editor or MT I posted to warn someone who asked for guidance about my experience simply because I wouldn't want anyone to go through what I and others have. And I would want someone to give me the same heads ups if I had asked for guidance on a board about a certain company. It was measured, thoughtful, and brief and not an embellishment or downright lie to make a company look bad. I think you took care of that pretty well with your post.
I am not going to get into any debate with you or follow up any response you might make as you seem to have a lot of anger you are carrying around and maybe even an anger management problem but mostly because you seem to deal in absolutes that most reasonable people do not. Because you don't know of a situation does not mean it doesn't exist, because you have not had a similar experience does not make it an embellishment or lie, but mostly your generalizations and judgmentalness are breathtaking. MTs brought offshoring on themselves, download work and then go shopping, do laundry and dishes all day - that's a lot of laundry and a lot of dishes! - most do not take their jobs seriously, no work ethic, go back to the doctor's office and on and on… I just know that my experience has been MTs, editors and management in the transcription field pretty much run the same as most other professions, a lot of them are serious thoughtful professionals, a lot of them aren't, and painting them all with the same broad stroke because you happen to disagree with them or with what someone posts on a board doesn't give a lot of credibility to you or what you are saying.
As I waded through your derisiveness and sarcasm and anger I just felt bad for you and maybe you ought to think about the fact MT might not be for you…and if you are a member of Alltype management, oh wow…
Words R Us
Does anybody have info on Words R Us out of Illinois? Do they pay on time; how is their QA; voice quality of their files?

VOICE RECOGNITION. Nuff said.
Well, then THREE WORDS:
She did the work. The employer didn't pay. Bottom line: Employer owes her the money.
I just used above the same words like you did here
Working for MQ seems intolerable to me from just what I read from their postings here. My work, for the most part, is smooth, nothing like only allowed 3 blanks (I would be in a tizzy then because of our ESLs) and so on. I cannot believe people actually want to stay there. What is the big draw?
don't stick by their words
There is way too much of that in this industry.
Thank you. I think those are just made up words.
unfortunately
There is a Google box right under the words
type in what you want to search and then click the circle beside 'mtstars' located right below the Google box, then search. This will bring up archives on your topic, if there are any.
You have to be kidding. Per your own words, DR
is not the best. Any poor MTs coming from MQ have been beaten to death by now - they don't need another company that is not THE BEST. Let's see - what was I being tactful and leaving out? It takes 4-ever and a day to actually start - criminal background checks - yeah, I know, no big deal, but still creepy - physical exams, and plenty of other hoops - probably a month to get started. Computers were garbage and platform was down often, though none in my account received 1 cent of downtime pay. Platform antiquated and also allowed for prime cherry picking. As a newby, I used to watch the good work get sucked right out of my pool from my coworkers. Backstabbing galore, office politics, no supervision whatsoever. Pay was on the low side, but was told it was due to how great hospital accounts were - not really. MTs expected to adhere to a strict schedule - quality of work was poor as we got hospital leftovers from inhouse staff. DR also has had run-ins with the labor board and were found guilty of whatever it was they were caught doing. So, yes, let these comments scare you - check the company board archives - always lots of negative about DR. In fact, this is the first time I have ever read positives, so I honestly suspect its their recruiter trying to snag some newbies. DR was even posted about just last week - go thru pages and search for them. Good luck to you! Definitely not a good replacement for MQ. If you're close to the breakdown point, as I was when I left MQ, DR is likely to push you right over the edge.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
:-)
I want to thank you all for your kind words SM
and suggestions. It means a lot to me. I'm a pretty optimistic person, so I believe something better will come along...but it feels good to share my frustrations with those of you who have been there, done that, and got the T-shirt!
I better go to work! Have a great weekend everyone and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.
Just Me
Your words are obviously heartfelt,
but it might be time to consider another career if you feel so dehumanized that you consider yourself a machine. Best wishes.
Perfect words! sm
I guess I needed someone else to validate for me that it might be okay. Although you'd think my hubby and three children would be enough to do it for me:) I too am having a very hard time with the testing for other large companies; that is why I was surprised and even a little leary that I passed this one, almost too easily. And yes, the experience on the resume would be big! My next project for tomorrow tho (while waiting to get info that I probably won't receive for one reason or another) is to test for Amphion...been interested for awhile so what the heck. Thanks again for making me feel okay!
Thanks all for the words of wisdom. Nm
nm
I just have ten words on the subject....
July sucked for the MT. It was so slow everywhere.
Words Unlimited in N. J.
Anybody ever hear of or work for this company in E. Brunswick, NJ? Raymonde Pozzolano is the owner. Need info ASAP. Thanks!
Why Ortho Words?? sm
I most times start with Google and then make sure it is spelled correctly by looking it up in the medical dictionary. I also use a Word Book that just gives medical words but no definitions. That helps to narrow things down sometimes too.
I'm wondering why the above poster said to get Ortho Words. Is that a must for all types of specialties in your opinion? I don't have one but would get one if it is helpful. I do Radiology so you would think that would be good for me anyway. Think I'm going to go to Amazon.com right now and order one.
NO GOOD WORDS
Well, Shelley, then maybe you can help me get the money I am owed from them for services all the way to May 1st and up through the present date.
