You posted right behind one another and you are so bitter, probably having to start VR and cannot do. I make over $20.00 an hour, very easy.

Not going to go back and reread my original comments, but I doubt I was emphatic that *all* scribes are 'highly skilled'. Of course there are the mediocre and the downright poor. And those who blank 'any' term instead of at least trying to research it SHOULD NOT be hired as transcriptionists in the first place.
My original post was to the MTSO who asked for feedback. I actually responded to someone else's post (yours?) where the suggestion was made that rates be tied to difficulty. In that regard, I suggested that they consider charging a premium for difficult doctors, a portion of which could be passed on to the most skilled scribes. Most companies *do not pay* newbies or less-skilled individuals at the same level as more skilled/experienced transcriptionists.
For some reason you've misunderstood me, but you'll have to continue the thread without me if you still do.

I agree - and there are a lot of MTs on this site that need to take a chill pill.
The attitude of many MTs toward other human beings is absolutely uncalled for.

Read my post again, I said I did not understand all the negativity towards this company. I never once said anything negative about the MTs and/or editors who have negative feelings towards the company. Having read the posts so far, I do not see any valid reason why this company is so terrible. If you don't like the pay, then don't work for them, but it doesn't make the company terrible because they don't pay as much as you feel you should be paid. Gas stations pay $5.50/hour (guessing here). If you don't want to make that, don't go and apply at gas stations, but it doesn't make the gas station a terrible place to work at. I used to work for a national (will not name which one) the pay was great, but waking up every morning with a negative email in my inbox day in and day out, no thank you. BTW, I am not management. I have been with them for almost two months.

No one said YOU said anything. If you read all the past postings, did you really think no one would respond to your post? You said you did not understand the negativity towards this company. You got responses as to why some individuals feel negative. You are happy and that is all that matters. So take it for what it is. If you don't want responses (or them to go your way whoever you really are)it is easy....Keep quiet!

And I just talked to someone (an MTSO) I know who knows Landmark well and she tells me that she has never heard anything whatsoever about that company doing market research at all. Something doesn't compute.......

Come to think of it, you are right. I would rather go to jail than go to back to MQ. MQ was a unique jail of its own kind. Thank heaven I am out of there. They really did a lot of us in and without so much as a kiss.

I have to agree with Cindy. I have done VR for 2 years now. Just this week, I had one day where I figured out my pay, and I literally made $4.53/hr because the VR machine was SO bad that day. I actually cried when my shift ended. I am used to $18-20/hr doing regular transcription, so this has been a huge cut in pay for me. I really need to find a different profession, but like many others, I am not sure what to do after so long.

Last I heard, this is a free country. Pay is not such a sensitive issue that it cannot be discussed amongst ourselves here on this board. Since when are certain topics off limits at an anonymous discussion board? She didn't break any rules. Look at the job seeker's board...what do you see in the job ads? Line rates. Maybe you are volunteering your time to Keystrokes, but the rest of us trade our time for money. It's no secret and certainly not a new concept. If you are that offended by questions concerning issues such as pay, which is the basis of what we do, then don't read the posts and certainly don't respond to them!

Hey dudette, take a chill pill. I just asked a question. Here's another. Do you want VR to get so good that it perfects you right out of a job all together? When I have to fix the mistakes, I feel like I will be among the employed for a while longer.
Cindy always paid me on time...
When I was there earlier this summer she paid once a week with a 1-week holdback (so you should get your first check in a couple weeks).
I have worked for her twice...for a while in 2007 and a while in 2008 and never had a problem with pay. In fact, her line counts usually came out higher than mine.

Anyone has the right to post here and anyone has a right to defend negative posts that are not true. Who are you to say that owners or recruiters should not post?? You are the one acting very unprofessional and a bit childish.
If someone spends $1.15 per page to fax something, there is THEIR problem. A simple fax machine is VERY inexpensive.
It is evident you need some ANGER MANAGEMENT classes.
You need to chill or find another job
This is the way transcription works. I've been doing this for 25 years. The years we DID have work all the way through the holidays were very rare. Deal with it. Things may not get back to normal until January 5th when regular schedules start again. Not everyone is out of work, but every account is different. You're not telling anyone on this board something they don't already know.

Cindy, you sound like a broken record, over and over and over
again. If I were management, would I not be throwing a name out there to get people on? Have you even done VR or are you 1 that is spewing out things you know nothing about? If you call my making around 20,000 little over a year big money, then you need to return to school and take math again. The problem with most on here is that they will sit around and wait for the work to trickle in to them rather than go out to get a job.I know the work situation is not the best in the world now but even before now I read where I have children and therefore cannot leave my house. The MTSOs probably know this, anyone can read this board. I had an old boss to read my postings before when I wrote against her company so I know they do. The money will continue on a downward spiral and basically the MTs here are just sitting back and waiting for it to happen. I would love to make what I did in the 80s/90s but those are times in the past for me. Thank goodness I do not have to make the big amounts as before but then I have worked so long now have social security coming in. Laughing when you say management, yeh with short term memory problems here!
