other than that, they are great. Very organized, helpful, and they pay on time!

Worked on C-phone for 10 years with 1 phone line
nn
C-phone - I purchased a c-phone from someone in Oklahoma but never got it. *sm*
First she told me her grandmother died. Then she told me she mailed it. Then she told me her daughter was having chemotherapy. Call me naive, but I thought she was sincere and cannot imagine anyone using their daughter as an excuse. If this is the same person from Oklahoma, I sure would like to know about it because now I want my money back.
I don't have a second phone line ... cable modem for the internet, regular line for my C-phone.
If anyone wanst to get through to me while I'm working, they have my cell phone number.
And, as I said, some accounts are using wav files -- no doubt soon all of the accounts will convert. Hope so ... would make it easier (less expensive) to work when traveling. :-)
Lots of good companies out there -- hope you find one that fits :)
C-Phone = Connexions Phone
Dictaphone is a company and one of their many products is a C-Phone.

I do use a C-phone, but...
The program that we type into is web-based and is the absolute best I've ever used, because it's so simple and fast. My C-phone is hooked up to my DSL via Vonage www.vonage.com, so I pay $27 a month long distance. I think there are some accounts, however, that actually use a .wav pedal. I just don't happen to be on those accounts.
Does anyone have DSL and use a C-phone? - sm
I need to know if you are on-line (DSL) and working on your C-phone (same line), does call waiting still work?
Thanks.
Do you have a phone #
for this company or know how they are listed in the phonebook?
C phone
Just wanted general information on C phones-- how they work etc. I am losing my mind, I did not mean info on Accustat, WI
C-phone
Accustat wants me to switch over and I have no idea how one works. I really like this company too
Yep, C-phone...
both accounts (I switch between 2, both use C-phone).
C-phone
Thanks. I think that I will go ahead and get one so that I can switch over. I was wondering about the phone like-- thanks for clearing that up. Can't afford a new one so I think I am going to try Ebay.
C-phone
To my knowledge, a C-phone and a Dictaphone are one in the same,
I have a c-phone
.
C-phone
A C-phone is short for connection phone. It looks just like a regular telephone only bigger. It has ports to plug in a headset and footpedal. It also has a regular receiver that you can use to call out, just like a plain phone. When you are given a C-phone account, you dial the number you are given, perhaps enter a PIN or ID# and
depending on the account, listen to the prompt for further data. Then you simply press the foot pedal and start typing. It also has 16 memory spots to program frequently dialed numbers. It also has to be programmed (by you) for the headset, etc, which isn't hard. Personally, I prefer a C-phone account. They are nice to use.
You will own the C phone
No, after 2 payments of $50 you will own it and do not ever have to send it back. They are a great company.
C-phone
If you have to buy a C-phone from them, it is only $100, and they will take two payments of $50 out of 2 checks. I was lucky and got an account that didn't use a C-phone, though. They are very willing to work with you and if you request an account that doesn't use a C-phone, they are generally very accommodating.
c-phone
Good Morning, I am trying to use a C-phone, can dial in, hear reports, but foot pedal is not working. It is connected. Is there something I am supposed to do other than that? Thanks to all.
C-phone
I got my C-phone on ebay for $120, so opted to go that route instead of renting.

I pay $30 for local and unlimited long distance through my cable company. You have to watch out on those unlimited long distance plans that most phone companies use. If you look in the fine print they usually are really unlimited and they will kick you off if you use too much. Cable phone has been good so far and I have used Vonage in the past, too, and didn't have any problems.
If you are going to be using a C-phone you will need
unlimited long distance. I would suggest checking into your options now. AT&T offers unlimited long distance but it is not unlimited and has a limit of 5000 minutes, which is half of what you will need.
It's not a c-phone
It is a lanier. I have used a C-phone and sound quality was not as bad as this.
C-phone
The best C-phone is a Lanier. I was on other copies but the best Cphone has always been a Lanier.
C-phone
My C-phone is programmed for 2222 to slow down, 3333 to speed up, 6 to replay header, 8 to sign off job. If this doesn't work for you, call your super and ask for help in reprogramming the phone. Good luck!
KS-C-phone
Keystrokes still uses C-phones. I use one every day.
A phone with SGS
was enough to make me run. The person on the phone used such poor English, poor grammar and was rude on top of it. Not for me!
C-phone
I recently applied to Keystrokes. They have open positions but require a C-phone which I don't have. I went to E-bay and see many different kinds. Which kind do I need? TIA.
C-phone
Can anyone tell me exactly what a C-phone is or does?
Oh, I would be on the phone all right!!
Every single time I ran out of work - even if my line count was close to the required. I would ask for work BEFORE they charged me! Would drive your point home I think.
c-phone
Freedom Type in Wisc.

K&R Consulting -
Do you have to use a C-phone
to work for them? Seems like I remember that from an ad a long time ago, but not sure. Thanks! Do they have an ad up somewhere for MTs?
You can rent a C-phone from them. sm
I'm not sure about a computer rental. If your account is not on wav files, you'll have to pay long distance. There are a lot of flat rate plans through many companies.
You can't access the patient's old files through Bayscribe.
Pay is anywhere from 9 to 11 cpl.
Great place to work!
Phone call (sm)
I have a feeling I might miss this famous phone call because I never answer any call I don't recognize on my caller ID, especially 800 numbers (I hate people trying to sell me stuff -- including MQ LOL).
I wonder if it will say MedQuist. Oh well, I'll just keep reading the boards and probably just as good as the phone call!
Sorry to hear about your hospital stay. Hope you feel better and more together soon. Wish I had an excuse to not have my mind together...
ANY MQ SE GET THE PHONE CALL YET?
What is this all about?
What phone call
are you talking about?
I don't know, but here is the phone # 301-921-2006 nm

C-phone question -
I have never used one and am quite confused. I have a high-speed internet connection through Adelphia. I want to use Vonage for my long distance. So, do I need a second phone line to free up my phone service? I was told that this wouldn't interrupt my regular telephone service. What about my regular local service provider? Will Vonage replace this?
They will provide the C-phone - sm
foot pedal and headset. You pay $15 each pay to lease the c-phone.
C-phone-you don't need two lines
I used a C-phone and used my call waiting for it. If I could not interrupt the job, I would let it go to voice mail. When I don't pick up my call waiting, the call goes to voice mail. For an extra $2.00 a month, I had talking call waiting so I could tell who was trying to call. I would not hang up on any job unless my child's school was calling.
How about the phone cost? I went
to their website, and it says that some accounts have a 1-800 # and others are long distance but that they reimburse what they consider a fair amount or something along that order. Does anyone know how that works? Otherwise, they sound really good!!! If anyone has any info regarding the phone stuff, I'd love to know!!! Thanks.
Phone Interview
She will give you a test by phone. I think it's 15 questions. The pay range is 7-9 cpl. I'm sure there are probably exceptions on both ends of this range.
LD phone charges
AT&T/SBC did the same thing. I've heard that Qwest and CenturyTel will also stop your service when they discover you are using it for data connections. I've checked into VOiP but my cable isn't stable enough for all my phone service to depend on it. I, too, am wondering if there are any companies that offer unlimited LD including data calls on a residence line.
Need a C-phone and ULD for Oracle
They thought I knew it already, hence, I'm not working for them, and was pretty ticked off about it. They account they wanted me for is not going online for a few months, and I couldn't wait that long. Went elsewhere.
Testing over the Phone? sm
What on earth protocol did they use? After years of transcription this would blow my mind and I'd be sifting through textbooks. I know my stuff, but hate to be put on the spot. How exactly did they do this and what kind of questions did they ask. I know you have a lot to do now and don't have time to bother with this type of stuff, but I'll be testing soon and I would like to know how they went about this, as I certainly would blow years of experience by being nervous, I'm sure. Thanks for your answer(s), just want to be prepared. I think I would stay away from this type of testing, it's too invasive and puts you on the spot to the point where I would just blank out and I'm too experienced to look dumb.
If you have a regular phone that has a
foot pedal control connected to it, you can use that for transcribing rather than a c-phone. And there are quite a few generic telephone transcribe units that are compatible and cost a whole lot less than the c-phone. Also, DVI compatable.
What is the difference between using a C-phone...
Hi! I am not sure if this is where I need to post this question, but was just wondering what really is the difference of a C-phone and regular dictation using a foot pedal? I have been in the business for MANY years, but never had to use or come across a C-phone. I see lots of things about a C-phone. Just would like some information. I am thinking about taking a job with a C-phone but do not know anything about them. Thanks for all of your help!
phone lines
They will reimburse for one phone line, but some of their accounts require 3 lines.
C-phone-you don't need two lines
HOw about with a C-phone. If you have voice mail you can just let the calls go to voice mail... you dial in to get dictation and type it... email it all back when you are finished. That would be fine with just dial up.
old phone lines
When I was a manager at MTSO, one of the common problems we had with some of our clients was that their phone lines in the hospital where they were dictating were very old and needed replaced, but of course the hospital claimed that they had no money in their budgets to replace them. You can have the BEST equipment possible (digital, etc.) and it won't work well if the phone lines the docs are using to dictate on, are old and not good.
Unfortunately, I think with the state many of our hospitals are in right now with budget crises, they are just existing and since this doesn't affect quality of care for the patients (I beg to differ, but oh well!), they are not fixing these types of issues until they have more cash flow.
It's a sad state, no doubt, that we are in with some of these accounts.
Do you keep regular phone?
Thanks everyone. I do use a c-phone and I wondered with Vonage if you have to give up your regular phone. Sorry, I am technically challenged. LOL I appreciate all the input. Also, I live in Nevada.......anyone from this state use vonage....everyone is giving mixed reviews and I will check out that other site also. Man......what a dilema....cannot believe some wise person has not come up with something for this type of business to have ULD. Thanks to all you wonderful people giving me a response so quickly. I will keep watching for more suggestions.
