Spheris Benefits
Can anyone tell me what benefits are offered to full time hires for Spheris vs. part time at Spheris? New to this and trying to make the best decision. Have also been in communication with MQ and am trying to determine who offers a better package. Any info would be helpful.
Spheris has benefits? LOLLLLLLL

Spheris - Losing benefits???
Can anyone tell me if Spheris is taking away their benefits for employees? I see benefits listed on their website, but another company I used to work for says it is so.
This is a former company because that place took away all our benefits and paid 2 cents a line less. And we are suppose to be thankful to just have a job.
It gets to the point that you look for a place not that is good to work for but not as lousy as the one before. .
This thing about working 40 hours for benefits is garbage.
So if I do my usual 20,000 lines a pay period but only work 30 hours, I lose my benefits, but a newbie who takes 40 hours to do 12,000 lines gets benefits? This is insane. I've enjoyed working for MedQuist, but between this lousy new platform and stinking corporate rules, I've had it. My notice goes in next week, and I'm going back to school this quarter to become a P.A.
There's no comparison in being a hospital employee with benefits working rotating weekend and IC
Initially what made being an IC worth sacrificing benefits was having a flexible schedule. I have read the laws and have done research. An independent contractor is not obligated to a set schedule and this definitely includes holidays and weekends. So what if this is a 24/7 business? How many hospital workers do you know that work every weekend with no benefits?? Nada! I knew student nurses who chose 24 hours every weekend so they could go to school thru the week, but they were compensated quite well at 40 hours with full benefits.
A company may hire a lot of misinformed ICs for Sun-Th and Tues - Sat schedules, but by law they are pushing the envelope. ICs need to remind these companies what the legal definition of an IC is. I'm sure they remember that we don't receive benefits. They want it both ways. If I'm going to be an IC with the only benefit being flexibility, there's no way I'm giving that up!
A national I worked for, which I won't name (squid)tried that on us after taking over our company. They even used scare tactics. We still didn't get on every weekend. There was nothing they could do and they knew it.
I liked working for Spheris
The only reason I quit was because I already work a FT job, and their 20-hour minimum for PT became too much. I had great accounts, a good supervisor, pay always on time.
Working for Spheris
I have been with a little over three years. It is like any company....some good, some bad. The insurance is good and not overpriced. I get PTO's and basically as long as I fulfill my obligations to them workwise, they pretty much leave me alone which is I like alot. They are not bad to work for. Like I always say, It's a job, if it was supposed to be fun, they would not call it work! Ha! Good luck to you.
Working for Spheris
Spheris is a great company. I went to Spheris as a result of a merger with Healthscribe and spent a total of 4 years with both companies. I always had lots of work, one primary account and several backup accounts. My check was always exactly on time, always accurate. I had a great supervisor, very caring and very supportive. They appreciate someone who works hard. They require excellent quality of work and I always tried to give them my best. I made a very high yearly income with Healthscribe and Spheris and am enjoying the benefits of that in retirement. I would highly recommend Spheris without reservation.
Spheris has Indian MTs working on every account. This should

50,000.00 a year working for Spheris? ROLF!!!
xx
Ditto.. Over 13 years experience working in hospitals doing all types of reports, currently working
for a national etc.. and Spheris told me I didnt have the qualifications. What cracked me up was the hospital I was working at at the time contracted some of our work out to them.. What a joke..I was good enough to work for a hospital and gave them work, yet not qualified enough for them. What is wrong with this picture.
I still feel like a team player of Spheris, as the shackle scars are still on my legs! Spheris was
Micromanaged to the microsecond, or ms! Horrible. And part of a team? Total opposite - part of a team as in prison.
MQ same situation. No pay for working holidays, no pay for working weekends nothing. Now noone works
much anymore and so they jerk the work out of the accounts to some place that throws it back with a lot of bad bad quality. This is the NE region. I dont know what the others are doing.
Don't imply you're worried at all. Just stating fact that Spheris does NOT allow a Spheris MT
work concurrently for MQ - no exceptions. MQ, on the other hand, does not have the same feelings as Spheris. Just all I had to say so that MTs aren't misled into thinking they can do the same "legally". Even went to the ropes on this issue with Spheris, as I was professional as well, and wouldn't share info, etc. The point they raised was that MQ is their direct #1 competition, and if I was typing for MQ and doing great work, that was in direct conflict of interest with Spheris' best interests. Guess which one I obviously stuck with!!
Thank you, Spheris recruiter! Anybody wanna place a bet that there are lots of Spheris
HELP WANTED ads on the job board?? So funny!! Out of the blue, Spheris, we love you!! Lets all run and apply NOW!!
I also know Spheris would fire you if they knew you worked for MQ. That is a BIG NO with Spheris!

working from home is awesome but working for DSG is not...
horrible dictators, sound quality is bad, no answers to emails and they run out of work consistently...that is just my experience though...
Spheris - any spheris employees out there care to s/m
comment on the new Cornerstone platform, good, bad? Will we all be going to SR on this? Thanks.
My experience with Spheris isn't bad at all. I have been with Spheris sm
6 months and already have 40 hours PTO. I was shocked. Spheris is a great company. After 90 days I did get my sign on bonus and didn't even have to ask. There is soooooooooooooooo much that Spheris offer I wasn't even aware of. I am so glad that I didn't listen to the negative posts on this board in regards to Spheris because I am a happy camper.
Also looking into them. Do they have benefits?
TIA.
How are the benefits and
do they pay according to experience, i.e. will they match what you are making elsewhere if they have more work than one can handle lately if one tests high with them? If you know, please tell.
DSG benefits
Quoted me at over $1000 per month for two people. Needless to say, did not take it!
Same here! What benefits?

? Benefits
What health insurance benefits does KS have? I have heard they are not paying anything toward it and it is very expensive.
Benefits
I just put in a call today as I am looking for benefits now as my husband was just laid off. I can take Unicare for $354 per month until January 1st when Blue Cross/Blue Shield kicks in. The cost on that is $256 per month (my share) as Keystrokes picks up 25% of the employee portion. Seems to be average as that is around what my husband paid at his old company.
Benefits
SAAAWEEET!! I LOVE KEYSTROKES!! Just when you think they were the best... THEY GET BETTER!!!
No benefits necessary

How about FT with benefits?

Benefits
I think Cymed is worth looking at. They have a few different options and deductibles so you can try and find a fit with your needs. Also it is BC/BS, plus dental and vision. Not sure how their costs compare to others out there, but no matter where you go the cost of benefits has gone through the roof unless you can actually hook up with a hospital. Good luck.
PS - got many more benefits where I went
LOL - much, much better.
How about benefits?
Medical, PTO, etc. TIA.
Benefits
Do they provide benefits?
Benefits
For health insurance, all the plans had fairly high deductibles. The lowest deductible and most expensive to the employee was $1500 up to $3000. Dental seemed to be basic. Also, they don't kick in until 1st of the month after your 90-day probationary period, assuming you are meeting your production. Didn't stay long enough to qualify.
FN benefits
I really don't see what ALL the hullabaloo is about regarding FutureNet and whether they offer this or that as far as benefits, DD or whatever. As an independent contractor, if you have to get health insurance for yourself and dependents, look at the cost as a tax deduction for heaven's sake.
To be eligibile for DD, you have to CONSISTENTLY make 14K lines a pay period and I for one, would much RATHER pay the extra $25 and know that my check is going to get to me by 12 noon the next day. You will receive an email with the tracking # etc, the Thursday before.
Take into consideration too, that there are a LOT of services out there that do NOT offer benefits or direct deposit. I have been in this business 25 years, and I for one, LOVE the flexibility of being able to work for a service when I want to, and not having to work someone's set schedule, just because of benefits or whatever. It's a choice that YOU and only YOU can make.
No benefits. IC only. nm

Benefits
No more than anywhere now a days and definitely cheaper than trying to get them on your own. Benefits have gone through the roof pretty much everywhere.
benefits
The way I see it is I will pay nearly $400-500 out of every check for benefits? Is that true?
benefits
thats about right
Benefits
Where are you coming up with that figure? Is that for a full family?
benefits
Yes that's for a full family. I got that from some information I was given by them.
Benefits
Hi, I work there too and that's about right for a family plan, if my recollection is right. The insurance is not too bad for just the employee but when you add husb or kids it get up there, but then again it seems to be like that at most places nowdays. I think their plan/coverage is pretty good though. I have been lucky and have been covered by my husband's policy and the kids are grown now, so I don't need to buy the coverage, you can also buy disability/life ins plans, etc. Other benefits are paid days off, but that takes years to accrue that and extra pay on holidays, etc. (but everyone is required to work 4 hours on the holiday) I have always worked partime at physicians office or else as an IC, so I never had benefits anywhere and have always worked 6-7 days a week and holidays as an IC (only time I could get caught up was on the holidays). The only thing I benefit from now is the extra holiday pay, and they do have 401-K and match a limited amount which is nice. Hope this helps.. talk to your contact person if you have questions, they can probably answer them in more detail. Good luck.
Benefits
Are there any companies that offer benefits that aren't a joke. I have talked to a few offering insurance but the premiums are ridiculous, I could get just as cheap on my own.....
benefits
The benefits ARE good, but you definitely earn them. If ESLs don't make you crazy, you'll like it there. Me, after tearing my hair out for awhile, took a lower-paying job elsewhere with easier dictators and actually bring home more $$$ now, but not good benefits. It's a trade-off.
NO BENEFITS
There are no benefits at all at this time, but it is in the workings.
benefits
Does anyone know of a company who offers part-time benefits?
no benefits.
xx
How's the benefits
Are the benefits at Medware costly or reasonable? I went to work for Diskriter, but was trying to choose between Medware and Diskriter. I chose Diskriter because they gave me the low down on their insurance costs.
Benefits
I don't believe Amphion offers medical benefits for P/T.
benefits
any company out there with decent benefits with decent deductibles and rates?
Benefits
Anyone willing to share their benefit information? This is such a big part of a job now a days and I would love to see companies that actually have a good package (are there any?) get the recognition.
Benefits
Thanks to all who replied. It sounds like the bottom line is benefits are a rarity in the MT world. I just don't get how we are supposedly in such demand, but salaries keep dropping and benefits are a joke.
