I personally can't sit for 4 hours at a time. I work 2 hous, sign off and take a short break.

It might just be fixing something to drink or starting a load of laundry.  If you did something like that then you wouldn't have to worry about a disconnect and possibly losing a report.

I can't wait to see what the results are.
I can. I transcribe for a hospital and statistics
x
Yes. Look at the statistics for the report in history

The statistics are that only 7% of transcription is SR editing. Think about all the sm
individual doctor offices, small hospitals and clinics. I even was told that it is too expensive for large hospitals because they need a license for each doctor and they have to train it. When you have a teaching hospital, it can mean 4000 licenses. Not worth the cost.

It's not as prevalant as it seems to be. It is just talked about often now.

You forgot one little detail about the A....
They just gave their employees a slap in the face about 2 months ago with a major cut in pay - some 15 percent, and some as high as 30 percent. It's not the same company it used to be.
This was just discussed in detail a few weeks ago
x
meant to say "does not" go into detail, .....
my mistake.
I disagree. An employee does not need to know every detail about sm
a company.

I am an MTSO of a small service but I do not share contract details with my employees. Frankly, it is none of their business.

My employees know they are paid on time and paid well. They don't need to know account contract details, just that they have work.

Because of MTStars, when I opened my business for 4 years ago, I decided to keep details to myself and my partner because things can get skewed.
Somebody higher up than me needs to answer this in more detail,
but in my own case, I work first shift Tues-Sat. One day out of the month I have to work around my schedule because I have a standing prior commitment. I have NEVER been given any trouble about that. I just work extra before and after (and there's always plenty of work) to make up the time and the lines.

Other people on my team have some pretty wild and crazy-looking schedules, no doubt created to accommodate their individual needs, but I have no firsthand knowledge of that. A former co-worker who was hired at the same time as me worked a split shift, to accommodate her child care schedule. So there is certainly some flexibility in setting up a schedule to begin with.

Once our schedule is set, we are expected to show up for our shift, unless we have made prior arrangements, or unless an emergency happens. I don't know if that is what you might call 'strict' or not. But I've always found that people are willing to work with me if I give them a chance. Hope this helps.
i wouldn't sign it, but cross that out and sign

Any information on Rapidtext, Inc? Do they pay on time, platform, etc.?

My information is kind of old, but I used to work for them part time sm
and it was a good company.  The people were great, and they paid on time (weekly).  The pay was rather low, but what I was doing was easy clinic work, so it kind of balanced out.  Good luck!

I wasn't productive on MeriT. Too much time spent entering demographic information...

There is no roster to pull patient names from, so you have to type what the docs say, and those ER docs speak at lightening speed.  I spent more time trying to get the patient name right than I did typing the report.  I really, really hated that.

Just shows that there are those they like and those they don't like.
So some will get a card, some will get a gift card, and some will get nothing. Just depends what group you fall in - same with getting good accounts and bad accounts. I wanna be that lucky person who is getting 2000 lines an hour on editing when the rest of us are getting around 150-200.
shows us who you really are

Your post is so demeaning to prospective MTs.  People don't just come to this board to complain, they come to check on prospective employers because this is the only way to make sure you are doing what you are supposed to be doing.  We don't know anything about a company until we research it.  I was supposed to start training with SS in a few weeks, but I have decided that there is no way I will work for SS after this big mess.

I could almost guarantee you only decided to fix the problem when more MTs started showing up demanding answers.  If you LOVE giving MTs work and helping them take care of their families then why do you offer them slave wages until they can provide proof that other MTSO are more generous than you are.  What do you think about them apples!!!  How mature of you.

Which shows what happens if MTs don't stand up for

When you Google them nothing shows up

It shows they know the MT community is onto
less-than-ethical business and employment practices. They want to shut you and all of us up so that we'll go back to our bedrooms and our pink fuzzy slippers, and just keep quietly getting screwed by them. It word were to get out, (say on Oprah perhaps?) they'll all have a LOT of 'splainin' to do. I for one would enjoy watching them all squirm.
in the last month it shows.

I loved that show (my age shows, too!)
Actually, I see the (self-proclaimed, of course) 'upper crust' more as the MAN on the Green Acres show. In the beginning, he's the one who APPEARED smarter, and who decided to get himself farm. (Not unlike some CEOs who decided to 'buy themselves an MT company...). His boa-wearing wife appeared to be the most unlikely candidate for success on the farm. But in the end, she was happy and successful because she was FLEXIBLE and learned the ways of that offbeat community and funky house (remember how careful she had to be when plugging in household appliances? Some were a '2', some were a '3', etc., and too big a number blew the electrical fuse. The hubby just never caught on.) The husband was never able to cut it, or truly be happy, because he was too RIGID. He expected things to work the way they did in New York, even though this was Hooterville, with its own unique sets of problems and ways of doing things. He was always annoyed and ranting, and his wife happily went about living with their pet pig and the other animals, the quirky house and the quirky town, because she ADAPTED, and she could COMMUNICATE without yelling at people.

I think the top brass at all MTSO companies should rent all the old Green Acres shows they can, and show them at their big fancy meetings. They could learn a lot from Hooterville's favorite, foofy, boa-wearing farmer.
I agree, sad. It shows how little the average MT

I rest my case. Once again OSi shows how dishonest they are.
This makes me ashamed that I once worked for them, but also makes me glad that I work for a decent, honest company now and do not have to be a part of their BS!!
The last line just shows my loyalty and dedication (sm)
to my current employer, but desire to stay in the field of MT via a national company should my previous position not be offered when I return.
I guess it shows how messaging fails even
a messageboard veteran, because I wasn't in the least angry; I just dispute the need to remove all emotion from my life as a preventative measure.  I totally agree with doing one's own research and being aware of what's going on in the industry, I just don't think I have to cut off my better emotions to do it, because, for me at least, therein lies cynicism and I've BTDT and that's not the path I want to walk again.  Otherwise ITA with most of what you say in both your messages.
Since the apostrophy shows possession, doesn't ...
saying Crohn's disease imply the disease belongs to this guy? If so, that would be incorrect since the disease doesn't belong to him it's just named after him. I think that's the point of leaving the apostropy out, i.e., to avoid implying the disease belongs to a specific person as opposed to the disease just bearing that person's name.

I agree, it shows a company has discretion rather than
wise decisions. That is rare in this business.
The fact that she gave you a check shows that she
is really in trouble and does not have the intention to swindle you out of your money.
Do not approach the client, this swill lead to nothing. The client is not respopnsible to pay you. Talk to her and ask her how long it will soonest take until she can pay. As she goes through a divorce, she should give you a deadline, in a timely manner, when you can cash the check. If she defaults on this date, then take the bounced check to the police.
Another option: If she tells you that it will take a rather long time until she can pay you, then ask for interests on this amount, or you hand it over to the police.
If others read my posts as insulting that shows their
I post what I see as proactive, get her done, dont be a victim encouragment. Strongly put, maybe.  But I feel passionatly about this issue and hate to see women letting themselves be vicitms.  Engaging in the poor you, you been treated bad, it is so sad, does nothing to encourage them to drag themselves out of the mire and take charge of their lives.
A search shows very negative comments and you have to use their computer. nm

With Webmedx you can hit history button and it shows who has been in that report. (sm)
Of course, there is always the possibility they pulled it up and power went out or the report was a really long one and they had to go pickup kids or something. Though in that case I think they are supposed to put it on hold until they get back.

When I was training I was told if you pull the job up you are expected to type it. I personally do this, but evidently some of those truly horrible audio ones are just too much for some primadonnas.
Wow..you even tested...hmmm. All that shows to me is unprofessional and disorganization.
As much as I hate to get the Dear John, we didn't select you emails, I would rather hear something than nothing.  I can handle that kind of rejection but when I waste my time applying, and then they do not even have the common courtesy to respond back on any level.  That truly just shows me that I would not work for a company like that.  It just gives you a little preview of how they do business.
Is there a listing anywhere that shows # of employees or size of company? nm )
