name is not snowball (my cat) or Stanley (my dog) and I am no pet. I am just an MT who is supposed to work part time for the company 4 hours a day 4 days a week but end up working a lot more because the account I'm on is always out of control.

Unfortunately there is no way to search for recent posts other than to scroll through each page. If you use the search function at the top of the board, you can only search archived posts which date from about eight months back. Less than eight month post you really can't search other than going through each page - it's kind of a bummer!!

Apparently, you're not aware of the huge Monster.com incident that is still under investigation and that involved the theft of RESUMES.

What if a brand new MT happened across MT stars and saw your post. Maybe it was their first time here? What if they thought - hey, great, an opportunity? On an MT board do you really think Transam associates was a well hidden secret that you happened upon? Isn't one of the biggest asset an MT brings with her/him research skills? One only needs to type Transam Assoc in Google and there you have it.
Think of it from that perspective. Let's just hope some new MT didn't happen along that day and see your post and now is on her/his way to being broke and taken advantage of.

about QT, always trying to start something. You've even posted things making it sound as if you work there, and you say you don't. Why do you need to know what is going on if you don't work there? Things are well at QT, despite all the garbage a few months ago. They are not hiring so any information about pay, work load, etc. isn't needed.

Barbmt - you're wrong. Focus has
always been offshore. They wanted to come onshore but for whatever reason, they are now returning all work back to India. Get your facts straight. We were not paid too much - heck the MT work was horrible, mostly the Indian MTs but also the American MTs. I could have typed them faster than all the time I had to take to fix these mistakes.

I don't understand how Jayne cannot pay us. We have christmas coming up. I bet her family has a fantastic Christmas because she is using OUR money to pay for it. If a company charges their clients by the line, I'm sure that line rate does not go down even though the MTs pay does.
ASR pays about 2/3 normal line rate to its MTs. Their ultimate goal is to have the MTs do twice as much work. Therefore, the client is getting their work faster, but paying their normal rate, while corporate gets that money and the MTs get the lower line rate.
Whether the newbies want to realize it or not, MTSOs have not increased MTs' salaries in the past 10 years. They still start out at the same pay as the last century!
This used to be a very lucrative profession. Nowadays, most MTs are considered to be paid at the poverty level. You don't believe me, look it up!

I just started with a company and when I asked specifically if I would be paid for spaces, they said yes. When I started using their program I noticed that the line count for each job did not include spaces. I checked it with more than one program. I called them and they said there was a glitch in the program that would be fixed. It has been almost two months now and that glitch is still not fixed. My checks do not include spaces either. No one at the company knows what is up. I can't believe I am the only one at this company who has deduced that they are not paying for spaces. So, do you check your line counts to see if spaces are included? You might be in for a surprise. Man, I am tired of being burned when I am a reliable and honest IC. Maybe time to do something else.
