Yes, they have several ER accounts...the one I work on doesn't have any ESLs (sm)

but I'm sure some of them may have an ESL here or there. I started there in September after being with Medquist for 8 years. So far, so good. They have been very accommodating and the office staff couldn't be nicer. Good luck!

Just how are they to work for as far as accounts, ESLs, etc. The usual things such as how they treat
the MTs and so on.
Have 4 accounts and no work. SR doesn't pay enough. Like the company, but..
X
What about their accounts? Do they have ESLs?
...
80% or more ESLs on accounts, otherwise okay!nm
nm
I believe there are a lot of ESLs on the accounts that are not the best. nm
:
Loads of ESLs on all accounts.
Some good things, some bad, just depends on what you are looking for. Communication is the worst for any company I have ever worked for.
I was told they have 35% ESLs on most accounts but like everything else, you won't know until you
x
The oncology accounts are very difficult. Too many ESLs.
It just was not worth it for me. A lot of long reports but no money to be made. It just took too long to get through them.JMO
I hate to say it, but ESLs are here to stay and being able to transcribe accounts...sm
that are heavy ESL is a necessary skill. Especially in acute care.
HEAVY ESLs, will not switch accounts if you are having difficulty, and more...sm
Plus you have to pay $25.00 every payday to get your check UPS to you. Now, I never have known UPS to charge $25.00 to mail a letter overnight! They must be making profit off of it. The worst ESLs ever! I have worked for many years as a MT but NEVER had this horrible of ESLs. Not to mention the VERY RUDE QA staff! Supervisors and work flow are nice. I would think twice. But pay was always on time and always correct. You just have to balance out. They used to run out of work too. Don't know if that has changed or not.
Do htey have a lot of ESLs on the accounts there. I have found MI acounts seem to have this.
:
Yes, but their internet accounts at the moment are high volume ESLs nm
m
No it doesn't. Can't mention accounts here anyway. nm
Clinic accounts going to India or SR, that doesn't
xx
MW doesn't even require that mgrs even know something about their accounts.
Going to football games every weekend and taking another day to recover are the norm. Account specifics? What account specifics? Returning emails? Who does that?
Doesn't Keystrokes have strictly OP accounts?
I thought they posted not too very long ago for a position that was strictly ops. I don't work there so I don't know first-hand, just sorta recall seeing it on the job seeker's board.
Good luck with that search :-)
Were there too many ESLs or possibly not enough work? nm
xx
Lots of ESLs and not much work. nm
If you can work through the difficult ESLs, that is...
x
Well it sounds like no work happens a lot at DSG. How are the accounts as far as decent accounts
and their QA.
What is approx. percentage of ESLs at your company and who do you work for? sm
My company has SEVERE heavy load of ESLs, probably 85% if not more and they are hard! I have this option of going with another company. I want to try the new company but I don't want to get in the same situation I am in now only because if it is the same situation I would rather stay where I am at because I like the people I work for. There is no benefits and a few things concern me yet they are good to work for, plenty of work and pay is ALWAYS ontime every time. So this is just a poll: What is the percentage of ESLs and where do you work.
Also, do you think I should try to go with this other company part-time and keep my current job to see? The problem is I would have to get unlimited long distance and have their programs downloaded on the same computer. Would love to have any feedback for this tough situation. Thank you!
Are the bulk of the ESLs you work on heavy Spanish?
Thanks for all the other information you have given me too.
Thanks. Yes I heard from others many ESLs and many very difficult ESLs. nm

I'm another MT who doesn't run out of work, never have. sm
Except of course around the holidays and a few summer weeks, I'm nearly always busy with actually more work on my accounts than I can possibly volunteer for. Lots of OT. I think the overhiring was true for a brief period last summer, but now things seem to be pretty well-balanced. LOTS of work, good managers, good equipment, nice people.
Doesn't work
This is the one I used, in addition to others listed on the website. I receive a MAILER-DAEMON failure notice on all of them ----- strange.
Vonage, but I know it doesn't work well everywhere (nm)
x
That doesn't mean I have to work for a company
who chooses to send things out of country. I feel no need to suck it up and take it.
VOIP doesn't work with it.
I was specifically told, when I went to work for them, that Vonage, Skype, and other VoIP systems do not work with the dial-in dictation systems because of signal degradation and depending on the carrier, the tones the system needed to hear were different.
I don't know if that is still the case, but prepare yourself in case it is.
Doesn't escription work better than
what the Q has? People post their ASR funnies, and they are unbelievable. I think escription works better, but that's just through the grapevine.
I have 4 accounts, doing all work types, and I usually have enough work but this is the slow time of
year so we are scrambling a little for lines. Easy platform, paychecks DD, always on time.
Work for a company that doesn't offshore
I used to work for a company that offshores -doesn't mean I do now (sm)
Do I sense some some sour grapes here?
My company doesn't pay for ANY holdays if you don't work
nm
Doesn't sound like the Transtech I work for...NM
nm
I think this is the same person who complained about this before and she doesn't even work there
nm
"For someone that doesn't work at Transcend...." sm
Note to TranscendMT: We are ALL in this together; it really doesn't matter which company YOU work for. It's data collection (wink wink) ;-) MTSO trends DO matter to ALL employees, not just employees of said company and the company cheerleaders can't stop people from posting on a public forum. A lot of us have been transcribing before there even was a “Transcend.”
Good luck.
Doesn't explain why the work has been so low for 6 months.
It only makes sense in the context of this week. Hope WX is not about to MDI us.
Wbx doesn't even send work offshore. nm
.
Doesn't matter how nice they are, I wouldn't work
xx
Doesn't matter how many companies you work for. I'd like to know how you manage to do this???
What kind of work do you transcribe?
How many hours a day do you work?
What kind of line rate do you get from the companies you work for?
How many lines you do an hour?
Do you work as an IC or employee?
I'm very interested in hearing how you manage 100,000/year.
Beyond Text doesn't work long enough to allow you to get any lines. nm
nm
Transmitting back the work doesn't cause a problem
because the file is a very small fraction of the size of a voice file. A voice file is huge, but a text file is small in comparison, so doesn't take near as long to transmit.
After the first file is downloaded though you can work, so it isn't like you are just sitting waiting for them to download. When I had dial-up I would set to download and then go take my shower.
Amphion doesn't make you work weekends
or nights. They're a great company, and I hear they're hiring.
Work for a company that doesn't offshore. Support US MTs.

If the tech doesn't know his stuff, it won't work. Programs like 123
you can have another tower set up for the new account to go on and use a KVM switch between your machines. You keep the single monitor and keyboard and hit a few keys when you need to switch back and forth to work or check the email, etc. Good luck! nm
My plumber doesn't do work for me on a daily basis. .sm
In my state, we need to get a 1099 if we make over $1000 as an IC. I have never paid a plumber that much money, thank goodness!
Doesn't it bother you that they send work offshore? nm
nm
Where you live doesn't factor in when you work with nationals.
When you work on-line, companies will pay the same regardless of whether you live in NYC or in some small town. I live in a small town and I am nearing $40,000 as an IC for 2 national companies. My pay is not based on where I live or my cost of living, rather on my production. I am paid 8 cpl, but because I use an Expander and can transcribe 250 lph, I make a decent wage.
This is only my third year as an MT and I have been with one of my companies for a year and a half and the other one for 8 months, so it doesn't take years and years. I did have to change jobs a few times though until I found the right companies and the right accounts that I could make money on. Some of the accounts I worked in the beginning had so many ESLs and the platforms were so slow that I knew I could never make any money there.
Does anyone work for J&M? Michelle doesn't want anyone wasting her time SM
according to her job posting if you don't want 7.5 cpl. Wondering if that is always how it is over there, no time to talk...gotta type, gotta hire, gotta fire

Encompass- How are the accounts and work flow? Do you have a lot of work?
I need to keep busy. I cant sit here every day hoping for work so I'm looking elsewhere.
