(it is automatically set up so if you enter you know who is posting . . name displayed)and the other employees and management was nasty as h++ so believe me I wouldn't post any thing on the private board negative. I have already resigned. I have a week left.

archives, but only found 1 post that they use DQS. Saw their ad for QA position, and it sounds great to me! I have the qualifications for sure, but am nervous about the company itself! Any info? The problem with this forum is that it is a forum...
meant for MTs who want to share information, get answers, and sometimes just vent about a problem. The post about cherrypicking began with the MTs problem of having to transcribe reports that were obviously skipped over by her fellow MTs. The response was quit being a cherrypicking busybody and do your job.
Regardless of how you view cherrypicking, how is that response helpful in the least? If you do not have anything productive to add to a thread, then just stay out of it. That was completely inflammatory and characteristic of what a troll would do.
Nobody wants to hear just deal with it when they need a solution to a problem. They also don't want to hear about how perfect other MTs and if they were just like them, it would not be an issue.
In your own words, nobody likes it but some choose not to worry about it. Then don't respond to the thread. Don't be pompous. Don't make it sound like you are so superior because you don't care if you get all the worst dictators. Maybe give a positive response on how cherrypicking is good and should be appreciated.
That is the problem with this forum...the people who come here to be completely unhelpful in the guise of being a perfect MT.

Not these days. Many MTs are also MTSOs, so I wouldn't count on PRIVACY wherever you intend to go with this. As both, I would be willing to share what I know with my colleagues if I felt it was to their benefit. Multiply me by many and there goes your site of shame. Good luck to you too! Hope you can CYA sufficiently to avoid problems for yourself. You should be nicer to these MTs. They help pay your salary. Maybe MTs should do away with recruiters? Too many middlemen drive up the price and the providers would benefit from the absence of all the middlemen in all areas that try to get a piece of the action in their practices. Maybe without you all it would benefit the greater good. Something to think about, eh?

My husband is trying to change careers so I went looking for a new MT job instead of being an IC since his new career takes 6 months for the insurance to kick in. We are going to check all our options but I believe we will go private instead of spending nearly $1000 a month on it
You can get a private policy for less than that and probably
better insurance too. At that price I don't think they are absorbing any of the cost, so it really isn't a benefit.

Why not just get a private policy? Unless you have
pre-existing conditions you can get your own policy that may be cheaper than what you can get through work and then you aren't tied to a company for insurance only and you don't have to worry about a lap in insurance if you change jobs.

I'm an IC and have private Humana coverage
It's $99.05/month for just me. This includes $35 copay for dr visits ($50 specialist visits), $1535/55 Rx, depending on what level the medication is, $75 copay for ER visit. It's a PPO. The only really bad thing is that there is a $2000 deductible, but that's only if I have to be in the hospital and hopefully that won't happen. I'm 29, have never had a lapse in insurance and have no health problems though. You can go to ehealthinsurance.com and compare rates for private insurance if you're interested.

I do have private counsel because I own a business. However, it is not at all necessary to use a lawyer for something like this. All she has to do is to to the IRS website, read the information about IC classification, and call the local office for an appointment. She should bring a copy of her contract (if any) with the company and just tell them what is happening. The IRS is pretty savvy and will likely take it from there. Many MTs feel powerless. There is really a lot we can do for ourselves. Many MTSOs will take advantage. (There are also many, many good ones as well.) My bottom line is that I myself would have my attorney or CPA make the call; but an attorney is not necessary for this. All it would take would be one report and the IRS would be on that MTSO like white on rice.

You could get a private plan through BSBS for1/3 of that, unless
you have pre-existing conditions. I would go that route though if you don't and then you can change jobs all you want w/o worrying about insurance. We pay less than $400/mo for family coverage, including drug card, dental, and vision. Not the best coverage but we're never sick so it works for us.
You can easily find private insurance for
a family for a reasonable price compared to what most transcription companies charge and then you aren't tied to a job because of insurance.

If you have pre-existing conditions opens may be limited and you may need company insurance, but otherwise you can get a private policy much cheaper, probably better coverage, and then you can leave any job you want because your aren't tied to it because of the insurance.

and am not sure you got it, but my basic question was that the jobs I am being offered are about 8 cents or 9 cents VBC as an IC or employee. After 30 years in MTing I hate to take such a paycut, but I don't want to be turning down jobs if that is the best I can hope for! As unscrupulous as they are at this company - please verify that you are not the current owners, or tech support. I know they are crafty enough to set up something like this to get the scoop on names of those speaking about them. They are in a jam, everybody is lying about us mode and are inane enough to think that if one person says something about them that they can confirm who the players are they can get them for slander. Of course slander or defamation of character is something that someone says that they know to be false.....have not heard a thing that cannot be proven - bad checks, no pay, etc.
I would love to join this forum, but confirming who I am is not giving me much relief that you are not them, and that they cannot join - I mean who knows more about their crap then they do?
Also how long before you respond to a sign up?
