Yes and no sm

I am still making 16000 lines every 2 weeks BUT sometimes it is very slim pickin's.  I usually do vascular, cardio and OPs.  I had a couple of days last week where I waited all day for an OP note, but I had the cardio and vascular stuff to keep me busy.  Another day, I typed OPs until I was blue in the face (1900 lines).  Saturday, it was slow.  I had OPs from Friday, not many then some cardio and GASP! I had to type some consults! (I really am just fine with that.)

Most MTs with TT have a primary and a secondary, where I have a primary and 3 secondaries (occasionally a fourth).  I don't get upset when I open my queue and bounce between all my accounts.  I have work.  The one really large account that many of the newer hires are on has been very very slow for several weeks.  It is simply the time of year.  It is my understanding that any all accounts have some VR going on, but it is running about 30% to 40% with the rest traditional transcription, and I don't think they are taking anything away from those of us who do traditional transcription.

I think the other reason I will always get my lines is that I tend to start way ahead of my shift to get a jump on things. I will split up my shift if I need to.  My supervisor there says that an MT who is going to get her lines will always get them one way or another. I also know that many of you still have families at home, which I no longer have.  You can't flex and work all odd hours AND meet your family obligations.  It is much more difficult for you, and I sympathize because I have been there.

Work WILL pick up.  They ARE bringing on new accounts.  This is how it is FOR NOW.
