Don't waste your time - they're a mess
.
You're past retirement age
and you only have 36 years? One can say anything they want annonymously but I do believe a person who is past retirement age would have better sense than to tell a fellow MT to go back to retirement. LOL
just today - you're a little behind - that was for the past 3 years-
and ID thiefs are also overseas - did ya see Dateline this week? Another point you are missing - we can prosecute those here - try finding somebody in Pakistan right now.
If you had applied with them in the past, they're sending out emails with
s
And we're supposed to do what? Beg you - OH PLEASE STAY!?
delusions of adequacy at its finest
They're overseas so stay away if you support US-labor.

Times past, was a good deal...now
Today we get the short crud/fast talkers/accents from who knows where... so 1:00 a minute is not good at all...BUT with all the changes in the way the software counts for us... if you would have a GREAT dictator (not) would be an OK deal...
I have been there awhile. The good posts are because over the past few years sm
they have really worked hard to improve employee relationships and it has worked. There are no problems there anymore. They used to say they were growing pains and we all wondered how long they could say that. Now I am glad I stuck it out because all the old problems (and I mean old being over 2 years or more) are gone. Great company to work for.
I have heard good things about New England in the past
don't know if that has changed. I would also throw in a vote for TransTech. After cycling through several other companies, I have finally found a home with Transtech and I am very happy there.
Good luck. If you can live past their inconsistent
you'll next have to worry about running out of work.
a good thing and stay put, not think! nm
x
Yikes! A good one to stay away from then. Thanks!! nm
xx
They try to stay in TAT, even on weekends (as they should) Good company.
nm
THANK YOU!! good to know so we can all be made aware to stay away! nm

Any good suggestions? So many stay aways!
Wanting to know some good company suggestions. Went down the page here, and lots of stay aways. Still looking for a fair line count (see original message on main board about wanting to find a fair company) or at least a way to get paid halfway decent without getting burnt out. That is trying to find a company or hospital situation at home where you get the line count which is fair, no hidden surprises. Thanks in advance for some good replies. I have enough stay aways on my list and none so far on the good list. Have a nice day and thanks again.
Yes. Pay on time, good communication, stay busy.nm
a
Got offered 1.5 cent/line this past week....she said her editors tell her they make good $$....
.
STAY AWAY from this company! Do a search here. Lots of information, none of it good.
Good place to start if you have no experience but you wouldn't want to stay there.
Unique experience working with and for the Indians and that's all I can say about that. Just realize that when you say NO.. because of the language barrier to them it means that yes, I will do it. LOL..I was new to the online biz too and they were my first job. In hindsight, YIKES.. but I stayed 7 months and then moved on.
Good & bad posts in the past. Must work 1 Sat. a month. Supposed to be gross line pay. Some days
s
You're good.
I just sit and stare at my pay stubs, blinking now and then, totally clueless how to interpret them. First time that's ever happened to me.
If you're a good MT, it should not
my 2 cents
MDI is a mess
Work kept running out, system went down when there was work, have to make lines when you can (which is whenever you can), and they tell you nothing. Bottom line - no way to make a living. No, nothing good to say. Look elsewhere.
mess
I began working for Cymed in October last year and was loving it until SPI took over. Now there are staffing changes all the time. I can't get anyone in HR to call me back and when I do actually get someone on teh phone, I am told they no longer work here. Phone numbers are disconnected, e-mail are retruned as undeliverable, etc. The icing on the cake was when the contact for the account I have been working on was not renewed and now I am out of a job. NO WARNING WHATSOEVER!!!!!!! I signed on to work this morning and checked my e-mail and low and behold, the account will no longer be with SPI. SPI is saying they will try to place me on another account and I can apply to the company who has taken over my old account, but other than that, it's a good luck sort of thing. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Do they not realize people need to know these things in advance? I have a 7 month old baby and no help. I cannot afford this crap. A fellow employee has told me this is not the only account they have done this on. My advice is stay away from SPI at least until they have stabilized a bit.
She seems a mess to me

Just a mess - sm
See this page, below, on further info regarding SeaScript. I am staying far away.
VR a hot mess
I can type faster than editing the hot mess that VR puts out. And it does not learn at least not the way they portray it. Yes, there are those out there who claim they love VR but those are people who had worked for the same facility before it went VR and they were accustomed to the docs, demographics, etc before they even started. And don't get me started on that! Bottom line, most of us can type faster than edit because of the mess it makes and the time it takes to clean it up and don't tell me differently and expect me to buy it.
I have been here for the whole hot mess...
you specifically said you would hate to see how she and her house look in response to a comment saying you need to represent yourself at your best at all times. You even somehow equated that to decency. As I read it, this all stemmed from the fact that, in your words, she used MT's incorrectly 10 times.
Meanwhile, in your perfect posts, you have misplaced a comma, confused a hyphen and an apostrophe, misspelled catastrophe, and you have been superior, mean-spirited, and rude. If a decent person is decent even when no one else is watching, where does that leave you?
They actually think they're making themselves look GOOD to us!
LOL
If you're really good and dependable......
xx
They're a good company
I've been an IC with them since November last year. I'm on a clinic account, so the work was slow around Christmas and New Year's because the clinic was closed, but otherwise, the work is plentiful throughout the week. Good company - good people. QA is really great to work with. They pay right on time and are very accurate.
I can't afford to stay with VR. If they paid more, I'd stay.
The situation sucks. I really liked this company when I started there. I know they read these forums, and they are aware that we are unhappy over VR line rates. They stroke us with cute emails and say we're the best, but I can't feed my family on praise. They're turning into another MedQuist, and so I'll be leaving.
you are a complete mess!!
ewwwwwww!
Focus mess
Amen brother Ben!! My situation exactly, never could get started, the trainer worked in India, well his time and my time of course never coincided. Told them times to call to get started and he would call 4 or 5 hours later, and it was night my time, so never could get started, and glad I found JLG!!!
No, I am NOT an MTSO. in the mess just like you are
In 2006 I grossed 55,000.
In 2007 I grossed 42,000.
In 2008 I grossed 35,000.
And each year I worked MORE hours to make less money.. go figure..
It is just that you cannot get paid more than the clients are willing to pay the MTSO.... SIMPLE ARITHMETIC
I had a mess with them, wouldn't do there if they
before I was supposed to start, they hit me with all this crap about needing a 3rd phone line, a fax machine, all kinds of crazy junk they didn't bother to tell me in advance. I had dialup at the time and that day, after 2 months of reassuring me that dialup would work, they said dialup was being phased out within 6 months, which meant I'd be without a job? Don't think so!
Their 9 cpl accounts are a mess, and should pay

Front end VR is a mess
A radiology group went that way and they had to hire more IT people and one more MT to fix it. Not as successful as one would think. EMR point and click takes 20 minutes versus a few seconds to dictate. Plus more IT people.
Good thing you're independent,
You're very welcome, gb. As you can see, you posed a very good question! nm
xx
And if they're *pretty darned good* right now,
when you and you coworkers fix it so they're PERFECT, who's going to be editing these reports then?
Perhaps a better question is from what country will these people be editing these reports?
Good for you; you're a natural born MT and I wish you well. nm
nm
lol you're so evil, but very good point
/
That's about as good as you're going to find .. grab it (nm)
nm
Good company, for sure. Find one where you're SM
consistently safe from overhiring--and then come back and give all the rest of us the name. In the meantime, for me at Webmedx most days have plenty of work, although some days require adjusting my schedule during the day to the work flow.
You know, evolving electronic capabilities and patient needs have now led hospitals--our employers' clients--to expect the very quick turnaround needed. Years past have taught home MTs we can work when it suits us. Is it any wonder that MTSOs are currently doing their best to deal with these realities by overhiring when needed? Webmedx is trying to stabilize this situation to everyone's benefit--economic at least for us--by pushing its MTs to meet our commitment of hours per week while still allowing some flexibility.
I'm MsIndigo and I approved this ad. :) Best wishes whereever you land.
Nope, you're good, MTGrammy...I followed what you were saying
x
I do not agree -- they can struggle through the mess just like everyone else. sm
Someone will never learn to do the difficult dictators if they don't tackle it and send it in to QA with a gazillion blanks, if necessary. Only way to get experience. At TransTech, you can look up sample dictations of any dictator and obtain other reports on the same patient and sometimes get a better clue as to what the doc is saying. Unfortunately, many people nowadays seem not to want to take the time to learn and grow. It's easier to just slough it off on someone else. S
Sorry for the bit of a rant. I guess it is just one of my pet peeves. I started as an MT over 30 years ago, learning on the job at a teaching hospital with hundreds of ESLs/residents/etc, and I would go at home at night and CRY because I thought I was going to get fired because I couldn't understand what they said, but my supervisor worked with me and gradually I was able to make my quota. There are still horrible dictators that make me cringe when I hear their voices come on the line, but it is unthinkable to skip over it and just take the easy stuff so my coworkers can do the dirty work. That's not teamwork.
And now, she steps down from her podium ........ (smile).
I was incorrect. ETC did not mess my friend over.
Her money was wired into her account since the deposit was done nicorrectly. They are very reliable. I'm glad to say that only TRX has messed with my money or that of a good friend. M
I apologize for the mess, I actually was stupid
Yes. It is the most unorganized and chaotic mess I have ever seen. nm
nm
Well, I HOPE they're a good place to work...
... since I worked for TRS and thus got acquired by Transcend when TRS did.
Interestingly... when I was job-hunting about 7 months ago, I basically read every entry in the MT Companies section of another forum (M T Chat)looking for companies that got good reviews. Because it got very good reviews there, Transcend was the second-to-last company I applied to, just before TRS. At that time, Transcend was only testing for acute care (my 36 years of clinical in multiple specialties wasn't good enough, I guess) so they told me no thanks. And now they've got me anyway.
I am still reserving judgment because the merger only happened 2 weeks ago; and I am still working on my same accounts, under the same supervisors, on the same platform, so there have been no visible changes as yet....
