I am also an IC and was told many years ago that as an IC I wasn't entitled to direct deposit because that was an employee benefit. Of course, you are required to work a set schedule and they won't let you take a day off, but that doesn't seem to make you an employee either. However, I think 2 weeks is a very long time. Where I work the employers are paid on Friday and I get my check on Monday.
