I just started today
and it seems great, at least from a first day perspective. My new lead is VERY nice and helpful, and the software is extremely easy to use. The account that I am on also seems very easy and is nothing but ER, which I love. Hopefully it will all go well!
Started training today - went very well.
Of course, always challenges learning doctors, etc. - but very, very supportive company. I'm pleased, so far. AND, most importantly, the account I'm training on, is the account I am going to be working on - FOR GOOD!!!
That account in Texas was not a MQ account. They did not use DQS on that account until KS started.
They are moving 3 other accounts to DQS between now and January 1st. I asked. The MQ accounts they have gotten in the past did not go to DQS. I followed my old account, which is how I know, and it was Meditech. The account is still run by KS and is a big account too.
Started Monday. Supposed to be released today. sm
I don't know what is going on there, but I haven't had any problem at all. I was told at the beginning I needed to do 5 days of 5 reports and if I had 98%, I was good to go. Tomorrow would be my scheduled day off anyway and I start my regular shift on Sunday. At least that is what I have been told.
They apparently have hired a lot of new people, so I'd just keep calling.
Anyone know why OSi (GA) lost big account today? (nm)
nm
My account seemed full today..
I hoped it was the same for others. Not so?
WebmedX got the account. I was hired by them today for
the account. I was also told by another company that they had bid on the account themselves and were told by the account that they were not going to renew with QT. This was SEVERAL months ago. Some people have been called about another account that was lost in addition to the big one.
Has anyone started on KS Hem/Onc account yet?
Good dictators? Platform, how do you like it? Anything else you can tell me. Have to make a decision over the weekend.
Yes, but I started on a new account and it seems
there have been issues with my account and others that have come on-line since where it takes a little time to work out kinks. I know when you have bills to pay you need to be working, but there are several accounts on OT now and my account has been on OT more days than not.
I haven't yet had to have a secondary account. They have many accounts so I can't speak about overall work flow. My manager has 5 accounts and usually lots of work on all of them, in fact they are short staffed and currently hiring.
I think all MTSOs do that to get an account started. nm

Anyone started FutureNet new account
that was supposed to be huge coming on board in July? How do you like it and FutureNet as a whole? Would appreciate if any recent hires could tell me how long it took to hear back after applying. Openings are probably all filled by now but just wondering if it took a while to hear back and if they require testing. TIA!
I just started on the new account with DocuScribe. It is the same as MQ. sm
I worked for MQ for a long time. When they got this new account, they asked if I was interested in changing accounts because I had the experience with the platform. It is the same one exactly. The difference is that KS has a lot of work and we are not pooled. They have taken on a lot of MQ accounts in the past few months. I think that they have a great reputation with their accounts and in general and that the fact that they do not send work offshore is very important to hospitals. It is to me :)
I started 6 months ago and enjoy my account
I am on an acute care hospital and they have me backed up to ER. They just mentioned starting a new hospital, I guess a big one, in about a month so I know they will be hiring. So far so good. Pay is every other Friday by direct deposit so it is on time.
I did. I would contact them. I started my new account Monday. sm
I have talked to several others that have either gotten a schedule change or a new account or different hours, so I would make sure that they received your email.
I just recently started a verbatim account...
and I have to stop myself from making corrections and have to really concentrate on typing exactly what they are saying. It's HARD! But hey, they are indirectly signing my paycheck, so I gotta do what they tell me to, ya know?
I am still on the same account I started with, so your allegation that better accounts come with sen
nm
I was told it hasn't started for any account
In order to finish you have to start and as far as I know no account has been started with this new line counting utility. When I questioned this, on several occasions, each time I was told its still happening but that was the extent of any information that was conveyed to me.
I know which account this is that started this week. I would call tomorrow. sm
The IDs were sent back from the hospital but only one part of them. I have been on the account for 2 days and it is great. HBO Star and lots of volume and good dictators except one or two. Call and ask if the IDs are ready. There are a bunch of new accounts starting at the same time. They pulled me from my primary to help until the other IDs are in, so they are definitely needing you on there. You will love the KS rad department; I have been with them for 4 years and every year it gets better!
And you just started on DQS brand new account and make 260 lph. You are extremely amazing but to be
honest I dont believe you.
I just started with Keystrokes full time and am on a Meditech account. sm
I would not call it my favorite platform by any means -- I think it is rather slow and cumbersome -- but with the addition of ShortHand and getting used to how things are done, I am picking up speed and hope to be at my normal level soon. One of the pluses to Meditech is that you can access the patient's chart and see other reports dictated, plus lab reports, x-rays, etc.
Hooray!
Congrats to you! A similar thing happened to me recently. I will be starting with benefits and a reasonable hourly rate at a hospital in my area. I could not be happier. No rip-off VR pay-rates, no more pay cuts, no more rip-off MT companies that treat us like dime-a-dozen unskilled labor. I truly believe this is going to be a growing trend and is the key to saving our profession from those that just want to take advantage of us. It is my hope that hospitals and clinics alike will recognize that both their costs and quality/privacy-control concerns can be greatly reduced by just having their own staff of MTs -- by not having to compromise and rely on MTSOs or even VR to cut their costs. I found that there are many clinics and hospitals hiring MTs, even in these bad economic times.
hooray for you!!!!
Finally someone said it! I just hope the person who always says READ THE BOARDS/ARCHIVES will knock it off already and preferably go away.
Hip-hip Hooray, finally
someone explains exactly what is happening at MQ even at ST.Louis office. They put so many people on the accounts, you get switched back and forth from account to account. It is feast or famine in a way. During my scheduled shift, which they asked for, there was no work. If I was willing to switch accounts daily and multiple, and sit on the computer and wait for work, I could make the line count, but I had to sit and wait and watch when the work was available. This was ridiculous.
Well above 12K lines a pay period HOORAY! nm.
nm
typo, I type 1,200 a day or more. Yes I really do. Andrews grad. HOORAY!!!!
nm
Yes!!! I am SO loving this!
The MTs are now uniting on this board for a just cause - KEEPING WORK IN AMERICA.
I am LOVING some of these posts on here, uniting all of us at the outrage of the latest sell-out of MDI-MD.
Let's get our brass ones polished and come out swinging on this one ladies. There are other jobs out there, just as those at the Q are finding out. Good jobs, good companies that don't offshore, good companies that treat their MTs with respect.
Don't swallow this sugar-coated dung being spoonfed to you here to try to make it a smooth transition.
GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN. You, too, are about to become a statistic whose account was outsourced to India.
And lemme tell ya something, speaking from MY MDI-MD experience, a lot of those dictators are darned good. They'll be the FIRST ones to go to VR and straight to India.
The best go first; only the dregs are eventually left.
Thanks, loving it as I go
because nothing is promised to you, not today, not tomorrow right?
You won't be hooray'ing abour speech for very long, because it will replace you
when the speech machine has learned all the doctors well and can interpret for them ! Just you wait and see. Your job will be gone . . . bye, bye job.
Been there 2 years and still loving it too!!
I would recommend DSG to any and all who ask!
Loving Diskriter
I work there now and I have to say they are really flexible with me. I have a great supervisor. I have changed my shift 3 times in the last year and the accounts are pretty typical for the industry.
Loving every minute of it.
Been there for almost a year. Out of work only about 5 hours totally in that year. Doubled and tripled my income over my last job. Once I get my Expander to full workability, I should do even better.
I plan to retire from there in about 15 years.
Over 30 years, less hrs now and loving it
I still do occasional straight with the hospital I work on, enough for me and the only thing I have noticed is I scan words so much I find errors most everywhere now on ads, on TV, newspapers, my eyes immediately go to misspellings.
Same here - I'm smiling and loving it!
More work for those of us that were smart enough to learn how to do this ages ago and have found a very happy home with TransTech.
I LOVE TT!!!
Agree with you 100% on VR, loving it
You will never get people who have closed their minds to this to understand. Most companies are going to VR. I did not go into because I wanted but now since here I would never want to straight type again. I make good money. People are so wrong to assume that only slow people use. If slow, you will not make $5.00 an hour. I can top on really good hours as much as 600-700 lph. I could never type that fast. I say just let them talk, leave the jobs they have to get away from it and keep going until no more jobs to be had without VR. I am able to have dinner now as I read along, keep the pedal down and making $$$ while not even stopping to take a bite. So nice.
That's our CAP-loving, MQ board weirdo,
and who knows how many other monikers, at your service there. Always loves to do the same there, wave a ''friendly'' goodbye. Yeah.
Poor thing has really been driven totally bonkers by this profession, obviously. I think that's true of a lot of the insanity we see on these boards ... MT as it is today really doesn't seem promote continued mental sanity of its workers in the long-run, unfortunately, it would appear.
And now I'll be called some really horrendous, disgusting names by Sybil II, all directed at my physical attributes or habits in some way, in the most mature manner you can imagine.
But let's try to think good thoughts for those who are obviously suffering from major mental anguish, I guess?
Making 3 cents a line and loving every minute of it - LOL

lolololol You guys are just too funny. Loving it and making me feel better (see icons)
I was hired and started in 1 week. That is not a long set-up time. When I started with our local h
I needed to get a physical and go through orientation at the hospital which is only given two times per month. This is a 900-bed hospital, so it cannot be an unusual process. MQ took 2 weeks. KS took 1 week. SoftScript never got me started even after repeated calls and emails.
I have only been with KS for 9 months but would never put them in the same catagory as the others you mentioned. They are the best company I have worked for, and unfortunately, I have bounced around a little in the last 5 years.

I got my invoice Thursday and sent it in Thursday. Guess you are special. Hip hip hooray. nm

You are pathetic! I have a great life, loving family, work for a great company.
You might want to fix that.
You really don't have to shout (angry person), but yes you are wrong!!
That is my last word to you!
I will add that getting a great pay check every other Friday from Medware really puts a huge smile on my face.
Repeatedly told another new account would come soon, but it never did. In fact, our slow account is.
everyone else's backup account. What a disorganized mess.
Then when we MT's are **thrown on** an account because of lack of work on our account
What is so hard to understand about that?
Then we have that account info filed away in a folder in our Outlook Express by name of account and can look at past emails sent out regarding that account. Not fun to be tossed on an account that you have never seen NOR ever received an email on. Sounds like business to me.
You are wrong about the account. KS dumped the account for several reasons. sm
It happened quickly and was unexpected but it was really for the best. Keystrokes does not string people along or lie to you. After being with MQ for too long, I am happy there, although it is not for everyone.
I really would give them a call as the other poster suggested. That whole situation was a nightmare for everyone including management but the account pulled a fast one on them.
I have the facts on this because I have a good friend at the hospital and what she told me matched what my manager did.
I know that they are trying to give more when so many companies are giving less and taking away more.
My account has lots of work..ask for another account/nm
**
The account I am on only requires 1200 lpd. Maybe it is that particular account. Ask them if they
have a lower one. Doesn't hurt to ask. I do anywhere between 1200 and 1800 lpd. Sometimes it feels impossible to do 1200, sometimes the 1800 is quick. Depends on the doctors and the day for me. I do average 15,000 per pay period though, which is 1500 a day. Not impossible by any means, and I never go over 40 hours a week. Most weeks, I am closer to 35 hours with lunch breaks and life.
I think it depends on the account. I have one account that pays sm
$2.25 for specials and one that pays $3.50. I was on one previously that did not pay them different at all, but they were all short and mostly PICC line placements.
I worked for a hospital that went to KS and they were not charging extra for the specials. I know what they charged per report, and there was no way they were getting rich on the difference after taxes and all that. I was suprised. I was in on the bid review and the average to charge was between $1.75 and $2.75 per report or 0.13 and 0.15 per line. There were 15 companies that bid on the account, and all were within those ranges.
I went to KS about 6 months after the hospital outsourced to them. When we were displaced, I accepted a different job in the hospital and hated it.
That is not true. It varies from account to account. I have
several internet accounts and on some you do have to input the patient information.
I know the account. It is "hybrid" account that is a version of sm
Meditech that is a cross between Meditech Magic and Client, more like Client than Magic. I have been on it since October now do 1500 lines a day; it took me a week to get up to speed but they really helped me. I only know which one because my lead told me that they are adding 10 people to it because KS is getting the whole thing now, only doing 1/2 before this. I love working for Keystrokes :)
Account wen to speech from almost the beginning of the account --
Don't like ExSpeech at all. Very bulky and cumbersome. Much better editing programs. I prefer to straight transcribe on ExText. Pay drops horrendously. But wave of the future for MT's.
