I have a few friends who work for Keystrokes and have had the owner do a lot for them. They make good money and she has helped one of them out of a bind more than once. Should my hospital ever outsource, I would go running to Keystrokes.
Why is it ok to attack a person on here? Why must everyone be nasty so often?
It seems that every company has people like you that come on and go on and on. Why? Don't you have anything better to do?
I would hope that there is a way for companies to be warned about so many of the trolls on these boards. I'm sure they talk among each other and know who you all are. At least I hope they do. As a hospital supervisor, I would hate to have you work under me.

I sincerely hope it continues to work out for you if you are truly a new Editor and not either of the 2 lead people posing as a happy employee. I have nothing nice to say about Shapin. I am one of the disgruntled ex-employees that never even said anything about them on this site! BUT.. I was certainly smeared around here and the most horrifying thing was it wasn't even true. I never even came into this forum until I was contacted by another QA they also did a number on. I kept quiet as I feel it is better to take the high road. Since I was enlightened I have visited this site frequently and have seen how many negative remarks there are about them. I have also visited some others and they were pretty bad also. I am not trying to stir the pot, but there are two sides to every story. The bigmouth is usually spewing there bull edition. Good luck to you with them.

Just curious...there seems to be no tolerarance for any comments unless they are positive. Seems like so many WMX employees always respond, too.

This is sad - I never thought that THE OWNER OF THIS board would support offshoring - sm
or should I say embrace offshoring. My husband and I have lost jobs to offshoring. Our one son has had to drop classes and has to go an extra two years to college because we cannot afford to send him full time because of the loss of our jobs and having to take dramatic pay cuts. I am with two transcription services without benefits. My hospital job was contracted to C-Bay, which as you know, is an Indian based company. I could go on and on, but I won't.
I have been on this board for three years and have enjoyed, learned, shared, and bonded on this site. This is such a let down that I actually cried over this. I thought I had a place to vent and share and learn with other transcriptionists. I enjoyed knowing that I could sign on with a company that posted on this website knowing that the company did not offshore. But that is no longer the case.
I wish my fellow transcriptionists the best of luck in holding on to their homes and lives and jobs. I can no longer support or be a part of something that offshores. I have lost too much both personally and financially to offshoring.

LOL. I do feel sorry for most on this board.
I did nights and weekends for many years. I was one of the miserable ones. I now do clinics and I love my M-F day shift schedule. I don't work 9-5. I actually choose to work 4 a.m. to noon so I have the afternoon free to surf or hang at the beach. I am so much happier now. And you know what? I actually have more work now than I did when I did acute care. My hospital accounts were always overstaffed as the MTSO was so worried about getting out of TAT (which I understand), so there was never enough work to go around. I had to spend all day logging in and out to see if there was work. I was tied to my computer all day/night long until I got my line count in.
Now I have several clinic acounts and I have yet to run out of work since switching. Not to mention the pay for me is much better since I make the same cpl, but get a lot a repetition on my reports now so my my line count has almost doubled. I did love doing all work types as I tend to get bored easily, but I love my new paycheck so much more. LOL. Funny that others would just rather complain than be proactive in changing their life.
Also, just because you can do acute care doesn't mean your job is any more secure than our clinic jobs. Of the MTs I know IRL, the ones that lost their job this year were all doing acute care when their accounts were sent overseas and/or lost to other MTSOs. I have been on my clinic accounts for 2 years now and I feel much more secure with my job now than I ever did with my acute care job as the hospital was constantly threatening to pull the account. Just my experience. If it makes you feel more secure (or superior) working acute care and the less than desirable shifts, fine, but that doesn't work for everyone. Why come here just to start an argument (which the OP was clearly trying to do).

Like we should be typing instead of being on a board. It can be time consuming. I remember before the internet, I had less things to get my attention away from work. Uh, oh, why am on I here right now when I should be typing? Gotta go! :)

Where is the work going? They are either overhiring AGAIN or sending MORE work to India than they are admitting to. Everyone says, ask for a second account Well good luck with that. I have a second, third, and fourth acount and ALL NO WORK. I quit!!! That should free up some work for the rest of you.

Decent place to work - the owner is fair and reasonable.
I have known GG, the owner, for a long time. I worked for her as an IC and never had a problem, except for the no work syndrome, but that was about 5 years ago. Hope they are busier now.
If I had to go back and work for a company, JLG would be the place.
I am a remote employee directly for a hospital now, so no need to work for a company.
I can vouch for JLG anytime. Pay is always on time, their staff is friendly and professional, never had a problem with QA.

The MTSO I work for does too. It actually makes me feel more secure sm
in knowing that they must be doing something right to live in a huge new house, drive Jaguars and Hummers and go on nice vacations. They've been around a while and it is nice to know that things are going well. I think that if my MTSO was broke all the time, it would be a sign that he/she did not have a good business sense and I would be worried that the company would be broke all the time too.
I also know that I am not the only one who feels this way. The owners do not flaunt it or rub our noses in it; instead, they have made improvements in the company at the same rate.
Christmas bonus? Not sure if we will get one. Do I care? Not really. I am greatful to be working steadily with a good wage and a good future.

care. I have a lot of experience with operative notes, DS, consults, radiology etc.. but I am not that thrilled with ESLs. It is just harder to make money on them. I think I will look into clinic work. It was only the lack of work that was bothering me about these companies and mismanaging the accounts they did have, broken promises, and just getting the runaround.. over everything from benefits to work.

We got the list from AHDI. If someone does not wish to be on our email list, there is a link to click on at the bottom of those for opting out. We immediately remove those that click the link.
We also have a few mailling going out. Same thing - if you opt out of the email program, we will remove you from all contact.
We need transcriptionists for many new accounts and have ads on here and other sites, as well as several magazines. We are going to need over 100 MTs in the next 3 months due to new accounts and more work on existing accounts!

I am not paranoid because I already do VR at another place. I thought the reason for the question was trying to figure out by having so many or so little as to how VR would work. Well, gotta go as time for me to start work.

In all the professions I have been in, I cannot believe how rude, condescending, and judgmental MTs are. These boards are for helping each other to make wise career choices and sharing our input, not to go around being the spelling and grammar police and making people feel like they don't know what they are doing. I am well respected in my job, have 100% QA ratings and don't belittle other people who make their errors here. I think posters here need to spend less time being rude and more time thinking of how we can all help fellow MTs looking for advice.

You can believe those on this board saying NO WORK at Transtech ! Absolutely true !!
Getting worse and worse every day. They are going to VR at a VERY FAST PACE, which pays so little you cannot survive on the money UNLESS you work 60 hours a week OR are one of the supe's fav's that get the better dictators.
There is always an excuse by TT as to the low work, but remember that doesn't pay our creditors. Work disappears in large chunks when were at getting almost out of TAT (if ever) so it is going somewhere.
TT is turning out to be like every other MT company out there - more and more executives/supervisors to pay and not a single penny raise for the MT -- much less provide work for the MT's on a consistent basis -- not near consistent basis.

I am fairly sure all their accounts still have in-house transcription departments. All mine do. The Atlanta account you mentioned started the same time as my main and always has more work than my hospital, which is an account that has almost completely dried up over the last year. STM states they are saving work for their in-house MTs.
