Would like to know if others experience poor feedback from their company when you need them.

Just simple easy to answer questions are e-mailed.  Never get a response.  This is so aggravating.  But when they need you to do extra work because of the backlog, the e-mails are coming back to back.  Are there any companies out there that treat you as if you are more than just a number.  I am fed up with eTransPlus.

It's too bad that you have had such a poor experience - sm

I have never worked for another national so I have had nothing to compare Transcend to but I am happy with my choice and I am not a newbie.

The size of the company is comfortable and the people I work with are great. If I were truly being a cheerleader for the company, I would post my name too.  I'm not trying to recruit anyone. I just stated my own personal opinion based on my experience and was curious to know how you came to yours since you posted it.

I just don't understand why the negative posters have to be so nasty.  If I was unhappy with a company, I would say why but not bash.  That's not my style and I think its playing dirty.

Have I always been happy with them?  No.  There have been times when I wanted to just give it up but I didn't. I saw it through and have been glad I did every time.

It's my fit though.  It obviously wasn't a good fit for you and that's fine too.

My experience was poor
No one should take anonymous comments without a huge grain of salt, but this board is great for getting general feeling for a company... Biggest red flag for me is late payment and/or some of the chronic management problems some of the larger services seem to have.

It's a reference tool, no more and no less.

Had poor experience also
I just remember a lot of 'tude' and not the professional kind ;) A lot of changes with regard to supervisor/lead ... would not recommend but to be fair - that was then! don't know if they have improved.
Just my experience but extremely poor mgt

no holiday pay of any kind,  overhire, expensive poor quality benefits, did I say overhire? way way way overhire which always to me shows concern for company and not the working stiffs...Good Luck and you will make sense of it all...it just is a little overwhelming at times..

You would be surprised how many MTs with 10, 15, 20 years of experience put out poor quality. sm
Unfortunately, based on this, testing saves everyone a lot of headache down the road. The company I used to work for did not test and they would go through the hassle of getting IDs, training the person, etc just find that they did not know the difference between an elbow and a knee :)
They are a very poor company - NM

Poor excuse for a company

I am the husband of an IC who has worked for D & L for years and of course I have seen the insufficient funds checks, multiple banks and seen my wife go through tremendous stress listening to the lies from the Marino's.  My wife is a trusting soul and I begged her to quit but she likes to give people the benefit of the doubt but lets face it when something smells, it usually rotten.  To you younger generation of individuals who are thinking of working for the Marino's (John or Donna) who most likely will start another company under another incorporated company be aware of who owns the company.  I have seen my wife work all day and night go to bed a three in the morning and get back up at eight and start all over again for a company who could care less about her.

A company that writes checks, knowing that there is not enough funds to cover these checks is guilty of fraud.  The new one now is sending out a check to an IC with no signature.  I can understand someone accidentally not signing a check but when you had a insufficient funds check two weeks prior which was made good a week later, and now a check with no signature then this is no accident.  Due to the insufficient funds check and slow pays from D & L I never counted my wifes checks in our budget since you could not depend on D & L to pay.  I feel sorry for those who have to buy groceries and pay the mortgages working for D & L

Poor company communication I would say.
I think it is best to avoid gossips/fears is to keep all abreast of company doings on. What can it hurt, sure hurts when there is misinformation (from fear factors)
typos are one thing (inadvertent), but poor grammar is a poor reflection and demonstrates lack..
of knowledge. In this profession, if you lack proper grammar knowledge, you should expect to receive comments from those MTs who take pride in producing top quality work. Just my opinion, but I think it is quite embarrassing to see inproper use of the english command from those who profess to be MTs. There's a difference between typing a message here and having a slip of the finger and just not knowing proper word forms and spelling. I see grammer quite often, dependible etc. I truly do no believe these are simple typos, sorry.
FN is a good company. Work volume much too low. SR pay very poor.

Company Feedback Sought

Looking for positive, negative, and/or indifferent feedback regarding Advanced Transcription based in Oregon.  Thanks.

Bad Experience with company
Anybody ever quit working for a company and then have them treat you like dirt?  I recently gave notice at a company and they wanted to know the reason I was quitting.  I was very honest with them about the reason why and they said you are done working for us now.  I was in no way unprofessional in my explanation of why I was leaving,  and felt I did not deserve that kind of treatment.  I was very disappointed in them as I thought they were better than that.  I guess I am better off now not working for them.
May not be the best company, but is not bad for experience.
I don't know where they rate as far as companies go. I worked with them for a while and they were okay. The account I was on hardly ever ran out of work, platform was easy, client specs were clear. They followed the BOS.

Good luck to you.
In my experience, a company is not going to wait
for you for a month or so. They will most likely tell you to reapply when you are ready. Best bet in this market is to stick with your company - sounds like the Q - and try out the new company at the same time - Since you are needing bennies, you won't be able to do part-time with your current employer, but that is sort of how it is out here in MT world right now. The jobs are there now, and they have thousands of applications at any given moment. So its best to try to juggle 2 to be sure the new one isn't the same as the old one - which has happened to me so many times that I stuck with my old job. That's very hard to do during the holidays, though, so maybe just wait til the New Year?
Had a horrible experience with this company and could not with a

clear conscious recommend them.  Check archives or scroll back to November for details.

This is unbelievable- Anyone experience this from a company
I am an IC with this company working 4 hours in the evenings.  True enough, I had to agree to set hours; however within those 4 hours I transcribe a full-time line amount 1000 to 1100 lines.  Yesterday,I sent co-owner of the company (supervisor) note saying I needed to stop at 2 p.m instead of 3 p.m. because I needed to see a doctor for my knee and that if I didn't make that appointment I would have to suffer through the weekend with a painful knee.  Since this was a spur of the moment appointment and they worked me in, I did not want to miss it.  I also informed her that when I returned, I would make up the 1 hour.  Well she sent me a message back saying you have stay on line until 3 o'clock, take an ibuprofen and you'll be fine.  This dialogue between the 2 of us went on for I know about 10 minutes or more.  Then she told me, you still have time to go to a doctor after 3 p.m.  You have to stick to your schedule.  Now, I had already done 1500 lines at that point, because on Fridays I work 7 to 3 p.m. She went on to say, you agreed to a schedule and you must stick to it.  I asked her what about when people have emergencies or things come up you cannot control.  She did not want to hear it.  I have an in-hospital MT job (for 3 months now) and she said she didn't think my employer would allow me to take off like that.  I informed her that my employer would be more than willing to allow me to take off for a medical problem, because they know my health is more important than the job, because if I am not well, I cannot work anyways.  Now there are times she ask me to work as much as you can, any day you can, all day if you can.  So at those times, I guess  it doesn't matter that I don't stick to my schedule. I reminded her that I was a contractor and not one of her employees.  My full-time job at the hospital is ran though the County, and there has been mismanagement of the money and they have reduced our hours to 32 a week, which is why I took on the IC position.   If I didn't really need this part-time job, you know what I would have told her to do with it. Plus the pay is 10 cpl and it is real easy to get your lines. Oh well, just needed to vent to my fellow MTs.
Can't seem to find any information on MD-IT. Does anyone have any experience with this company?
:-)
I worked for this company and it was the worst experience of my career.
I would advise you to search the archives on this board. You will be able to make your own decision based on that info.
Any OSI radiology MTs care to share your experience with this company?
.
Anyone currently work for All Type or have recent experience with the company? sm

I'm currently exploring my options, and was impressed with the $1000 signon bonus offered, but wondering about the usual things -- quality and quantity of work available, pay on time, etc.

Any input would be appreciated.

No, I haven't been. I told my true experience of working for that company.
I don't have a negative attitude.  You're the one who can't handle it when someone disagrees with you.
Here's how to safely post a bad experience with a company - just write "have you tried
nm
My experience with quality/quantity with an Indian owned company

I worked for an offshore owned company where it was all about quantity.  Company even kept a HORRIBLE MT just because she cranked out the lines.  Didn't matter her quality was crap and was considered a joke by middle managment.  India did most typing but with US edit.  Typists changed regularly so it wasn't like they learned to do better.  Quality would improve slightly and then would notice, after couple of months, that quality was crap again so we knew we were dealing with a new batch of typists. Even so, the push was always on to get the jobs off US edit and send Indian work straight to client.  Of course, the clients never knew they were not getting US editing anymore, as they got no price reduction when they no longer had that level of work being done on their jobs.  The problem is the facilities accept the crap work so why should the companies change.  It took a while but I finally found a US owned company where quality matters.  Now one of the first questions I would ask a prospective employer is if they are US owned.

depends on work type, experience, spaces, company, area
nm
From my experience, it is all in how the company sets it up to count i.e. footers, headers, spaces
etc.. I work on another platform but I noticed the same thing when I worked for a company and it would me 12 hours to get 1000 lines, and at the time, I had nothing to compare it to. Then, I thought..this is just wrong. Working 12 hours to make $80 is ridiculous so I quite. I went to work for another company...same platform... and routinely do 1500 to 2000 lines a day and I can tell the difference. You know when you do a whole page report and all you end up with is at the max 40 lines.. something is wrong. I'd say keep the best paying and dump the rest. They are obviously shorting you somewhere.
Anyone know of a company looking for 13 years experience to work flexible part-time shift
I'm getting my real estate license but still want to keep my transcription job part-time.  I'm looking for a job that will allow me to work about 20 hours a week and still have the flexibility to show a home on the spur of the moment.  Thanks, I would appreciate any info!
My experience exact opposite- Me willing work 6 days, regular sched, 100% QA last review- Company: N
Me: Ready, willing and able to work 6 days a week, regular schedule, 100% QA my last review, on all ESL's doctors.

Companies: No work. All ESL work. All the worst dictators. No work, did I mention that. Don't want to buy new software or any software to help the MT. Ridiculous formatting rules to decrease my line count. Low line count rate. No holiday pay. Have to work holidays.

Your post was way, way out of line. Maybe you work for a great company, SO tell us who it is.

I've tried 10 companies in 10 years, and they were all the same. Pick my brain and make me work hard, hard, hard for ? 150 lines an hour with ALL ESL, poor sound quality, and then don't really want to pay for the 150 lines, want to jiggle and wiggle it down to 120 or less with rules.
Poor me?? Really now!
I have seen only one post that you could possibly misconstrue as a "poor me" attitude, and that was from a very close friend of mine who lost her home to a hurricane. She wanted me to go to work for OSi because she thought they had been very considerate of her circumstances (plus she wanted the referral bonus). I will say right now that she is THE strongest woman I know. She does not kiss butt at work or here on this board. She told the truth about her experience with the company. She has not said a word about anything other than OSi's support. She has never met any of the managers and does not participate in garbage gossip of any type on either "side." Does she gush over OSi all the time? No, absolutely not, but she voices her concerns and opinions with them, not on a public board, particularly in order to humiliate another person. I am highly offended that she has been attacked without cause. I used to work with her at a local hospital, and she is a joy to be around and doesn't go around with a hang dog "poor me" demeanor. There is never a dull moment because you never know what she is going to say next. "Poor me" - you don't even know who or what you are talking about. It is time to write something productive on this board instead of jamming it with bulls**t.
Yes, they do, but very poor IT

Some poor MT will take it though.
That's pretty bad.
LOL!!! Poor pud! ....nm

Poor pay

I got paid per line during QA but had to submit 10 reports at a time for review and then had to wait around for approval of each set before I was allowed to type again.  Sometimes I was idle for 1 to 1-1/2 hours after each set waiting for the go ahead.  Needless to say, I lost a lot of money that way.

Not OP either. Just another poor

sap who hired on.  I think the statement is correct in that they only do overflow work, too. The account I was on was behind on discharge summaries for 15 days.

poor management
I think someone should write a letter to the corporate office, they really have bad management at MQ, all over the board!
They offshore, they lie to you, very poor
communication, some very difficult acounts, and pay is so-so.
Poor dictations
Many companies seem to be going to voice recognition. The only reports they have to send to us, then, are the poor dictators, the ESL's, etc. Time for a new career.
Your poor grammar
You are not using proper sentence rules by using a lower case letter to begin a sentence. I truly do not believe you have a simple typo, sorry.
not surprised about the poor
communication and the jumping the gun. I think someone there likes to blame all the unreliable transcriptionists for the problem rather than taking responsibility for poor pay and poor management.
It is usually the ones with poor quality most likely.

poor and struggling
I feel for you; I am right there with you. BTW, my name, Fatcat, has to do with the fact that I am fat, not an allusion to being rich, ha ha. We live mostly on lentils and rice, sometimes hamburger once in a while if it is on sale. Please do not feel that you are alone. There are many of us in this same boat. I recently took on a second job just to be sure I always had work to support my family. God bless you. Hang in there.
Poor thing

Poor MT!  Must be hard to be the lone TTD employee with no MT friends.

You poor dear!! s/m
How in the world do you manage it?  You must be supermom as well as superwoman.  When I first started working at home my 4 were early teens and still there were days (nearly every day) when I thought surely I would totally melt down.  I could not have done what you are doing.  I might have been able to do it by juggling another type of job but not MT.
Poor old Calif
It can sink into the ocean like Atlantis - and take the Terminator with it. He is the source of their money problems.
Poor business sense
...Precisely. I know a radiologist who offshores his transcription to India. He kept his inhouse transcriptionist. She edits their work all day. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR TWO YEARS!!! He's paying India $2,500.00 a month for transcription and pays her, her regular salary!! It absolutely amazes me how frenzied a doctor gets when he has it in his head that he's going to get a better deal this way!!! INSANITY!!
If I had been fired for poor quality...sm
I certainly would have never gotten on the board and blamed the MTSO.   I'm not sure what this person expected.  We all make mistakes, but when we are called down for them (again and again) we should own them and fix them.  Until an MT can do that, she will never reach her  full potential. And... while we ALL go through some awful times in our lives, we must remember that the medical records we are typing also represent others who are experiencing misfortunes as well.
There's no law against that, goodness. Poor ethics but
??
Transcend is really a poor excuse
I worked for them for quite awhile when they got this huge new account. I was independent contractor, but working my butt off for them with all of their quirky system problems, turnover, etc. All of a sudden, one day - I could not log in to work. I tried e-mailing and calling EVERYONE; yet, no one could have the decency to respond. A few weeks later, there was a job posting stating the specifics of the account, demanding only employee status, no IC. I have no problem with that - it was the way in which it was handled. VERY, VERY unprofessional. I wouldn't hit a dog in the rear-end with Transcend, and in the end, I hope they get what they deserve.
In a poor house in Houston
XXX
sounds like poor management...sm
sometimes you have to be alert that cherry picking may also be taking place. Maybe you are getting left overs from all of the specialties that no one else wants. If you are new with this company, it is not unheard of to happen. The best approach is to question why you get so many miscellaneous reports from so many specialties. D
on't make an accusation, but let them know that you find it strange, and not a very good way for you to master a few accounts.
That may be well and good, but she used poor judgment
with the verbiage used in her job ad post.  While some may think it's funny, it's demoralizing to our industry and is not condoned by MTStars.
Worst job I ever had. Poor communication,
Horrible platform. After 24 years in this business, I knew they were not a good fit for me.
