I just left there for personal reasons but i can tell you-sm
that it is a good company to work for. You set your own schedule and they send you work. The pay is great, as stated by other poster 10 and 11 cents, and you type in your own Word or WP program.
I was told I could collect UEC ... for several personal reasons
which do not need to be mentioned.. but there ARE exceptions to that .. so anyone that loses their job in this way should at least file.. there are a lot of factors involved. I choose not to do that at this point.. and am pursuing other job options... if I had none.. I would collect UEC

for the discrepency in line cts. And you should be doing character cts. Line different things to different people but a character is a character is a character. And also must know just what a company pays for, headers, footer, spaces, auto poplulated info, etc.

I asked repeatedly for more flexibility and couldn't get it. So like you, I quit. I am now working for 2 separate companies so that I can work hours that work for me and my family.

and right away online companies want to know everything about you, all of your identity info. and personal history, where you live and you know nothing about them or even if they are honest enough to pay you. You aren't protected in cyberspace.

I was considered a hospital employee. I left. They sent me the PL but it took about a month and it was hit heavily with taxes. I then went back. I would call your usual POC. I have found this company to be honest in dealing with me.
company computer vs. personal
You normally can use the company computer to research anything related to the reports you are transcribing. They will check at some point which websites you visit. You should have received company/computer guidelines regarding surfing the web and what you are allowed/not allowed to do. By using their computer, they can tell you what you are allowed/not allowed to do. I always used my own computer to surf the web whether for research or personal matters to stay out of trouble. Also depending on how good/fast the company computer is, it can slow your work process down immensely. Where I used to work, they would periodically check everything on the computer!
When you use your own computer, I think they can only deternine what else you are doing on your computer aside from your work if you allow them onto your computer. Some companies like to gain access to install their software by their experts. But you can limit their access by only allowing them into your computer after they specifically ask to do so and stating the reasons. If you need to allow them to have access, then sit and watch what they are doing! I believe the only thing they can see through the VPN is how long it takes you to do a report and in which order you do the reports.

turnover in staff. The owner really knows how to treat his staff well.

I love working with MTA. Pay is good and on time. Hours are flexible (probably depending on account). Lynn is very organized and great to work for.
I personally know of one MT who left, but came back after...
approximately 5 months of working for another national. She's been back for a few months and it's going well.

It is pretty small and she will probably keep it that way. She is the best boss, very knowledgeable and willing to share the knowledge, fair wages, sits right there every day typing or proofing along with everyone else, and she turned out to be a great friend. I worked for her as long as I could but was making much more money doing radiology reports so made the decision finally to concentrate on that only. We keep in touch and some day I may be back with her, who knows.  So, I would say not all companies are the same but the really good ones just may be harder to find.

How many of you work for a company with a Tues thru Sat or Sun through Thur schedule? How can you possibly due this every weekend? I would have no problem working a rotating weekend schedule every 3 to 4 weeks, but EVERY weekend when I have kids and family time is important? Please explain this to me, as I just cannot see how it is possible. Thanks!

working with me and I put them off. :(. I am too shy to even let them know this which is why I put anon. I loved my supervisor Ginny and Becky too, and the work. Thanks for the nice thought. I guess I am chicken LOL, and too chicken to ask to come back. Glad you did and it worked out!

EMTS is a wonderful caring company - I've been
there over 2 years and I will have to be chased away with a stick. This company is SOOOOO kind to their employees ... seriously caring people. You can't work for a better bunch. That is my .02
I worked there for a short time. Wonderful company.
I went and got my own clients, so I couldn't do both. Pay was adequate and on time by direct deposit. I had a teaching hospital, good account, some difficult ESL, some not so difficult. Bayscribe platform is okay, had to get used to it. I personally was not fond of it, but to each their own.
The long distance phone service was not an issue. I used the Verizon unlimited LD and regional plan $49.99 per month.
All-in-all, my experience was good while there. Every company has their ups and downs. It all depends on what your individual needs are and how far out of your comfort zone you want to go.

I agree also. Keystrokes is a wonderful company with very, very nice and helpful people. I would
like much more work, at least 12,000 lines each pay period.
FN is a great company full of wonderful people who treat you with respect. SM.
But they only want to pay 4.5 cpl for SR, 5.5 for heme/onc. Can you believe that? Also, workload has been very, very low for a very long time.
If you look back in the archives people left when they realized they couldn't make money with it.

and flexible.
I have looked around the last 6 months and have found nothing better. Have turned down numerous jobs, and have finally decided to stay put. The better insurance plans were announced and even moreso than ever, I am staying put, and my paycheck is happy about that because it is getting better every day. Good luck to you.

I also worked on 4 accounts with VERY different account specifics. I wonder if we are talking about the same company here? Also, I was shifted from one work type to another. Then I got thanked for helping out. The only people it helped out was them because I had to work my fingers to the bone to achieve their line count requirements! Each day literally became a marathon. When I inquired about the need to have me on so many different accounts I was labeled hard to work with and was treated very rudely. I am not a newbie MT either - I have more than 6 years of solid experience in many different work types, acute care, and multispecialty clinics. There are better companies out there. been glad they did? I have worked at MDI-MD for about 5 years and feel they have overhired as my accounts are often low on work. Keep seeing good things about Keystrokes and Transtech (and sure other good companies exist) and have wondered if I would be better off there or somewhere else. how long did it take for them to send you the stuff to return the equipment? I resigned on 2/25/06 and still have their equip. Have emailed supers with no response. I have been toying with the idea of emailing the CEO. I wonder how long you have to keep it before it becomes yours? Any lawyer out there who knows the answer to that???? TIA
