With MQ for about 10 years after they ate YOG. With Webmedx now. What K posted rings true for me.

I'm not wild about my STM, but that person is a definite step up from the Q. E-mail me if you'd like. Work is plentiful on the acute care, Enterprise side. OT is available frequently. No place is perfect, but they have decent incentives, although the PTO is a little bleak. Best of luck.

Glad that's true for you for 8 years. Not true for many. I love the company, but I do run out of
as do many others. Wish I were as fortunate as you.
Rings tired to me
This is quite a story! I find it odd that a company who does not generally provide equipment and additionally made a statement in MD's other rebuttal placed on the board shows with one word the true nature of the beast, and that is the word allows. At the end of the day I really don't think that rebuttals repair the damage that a company does to itself because the employee is considered last. I would never consider a position with this company because their transparency is downright disturbing!
This rings familiar with another company...
called Proficient Transcription. The MTSO there charges for a foot pedal (you have to buy it from her directly, not on your own), and there are multiple complaints on the New MT board from people who never received their foot pedal from her either...weird. Could there be a connection?
Webmedx isn't slow - lots of OT posted and they are pushing sm
to hire a lot of MTs due to new accounts coming on in the next few months.
Off? I've posted here for years. SM
You could do a search to verify that. MT in MT is right...referral bonuses ARE nice. But, I would never recommend a company that I was not happy with...they couldn't pay me enough. I've only been here a year, but that is way past the honeymoon stage.
Also, I would only get a referral bonus if a person stayed there for 6+ months. So, unless someone really liked it here (as I do), I have absolutely nothing to gain with sharing my experiences. I have said in past posts who I work for (Echo), but I didn't know if I could do that in this post as I didn't want the board administrators to think I was posting a help-wanted ad (which I'm not). All I'm doing is sharing my experiences...what anyone does with that information is completely up to them.
Take care,
Chickadee
Webmedx: 3 days only PTO? True?
Sounds like a great company with a lot of good feedback on this board, but I read somewhere that they only have 3 days PTO annually. |Could this possibly be true? The other companies I am applying to all list 10 days or greater per year. Webmedx is my first choice, but I don't think I can live with never having a vacation again. Anyone?
Webmedx, not rumors, true story
Maybe you work on accounts that are not experiencing ASR yet. All I can tell you is I have gone from around 1700 lines a day to now struggling to get 1000 and get those only because I consistently sit at my desk clicking new report to be taken to another job, and many times there are no jobs available. I am not spreading rumors. This is a true story of what has happened to an employee, one who has been called a most valuable employee, one who has worked diligently for 3 years for this company and has over 30 years experience. And, yes, I have multiple accounts. In fact, at the present time I have 20 accounts as I have called several times to request more work so my family does not suffer.
I am not a complainer, not looking to cause ill-will. I am a concerned employee of a company who has not been straight foward regarding what is happening to our employment. Of course, this may not be happening across the board in all accounts, but it certainly is in mine and if you look at the posts on this board, I am not alone.
I am a good worker, reliable, accurate, with high QA, a producer and work on the most difficult accounts with lots of ESL. Do not judge a situation which you do not know.
That may be true for some but I have been at MQ 6 years sm
doing radiology and always had work.
Don't think it's true, but in years of using it, there ARE
s
Yes it is true and if you were there 2 years ago as you claim
as well as the "not so flattering" picture of her that was in the company email newsletter at around the same time. Nice try though.
I say that because it is true. I've been doing this for 20 years, sm
but 2 kids through college and yes I made more 10 years ago than I do now. If I don't feel like I'm being compensated I move on.
Even after years of doing this, it's NOT true for the majority of MTs these days. Look at how man
s
Not true - been doing clinic work for 8 years
and while yes, there are things such as px and other things you can make macros for, my docs say a lot of different things based on who the dictation is going to and what the problem is, also personal things pertaining to that patient. I have found OP notes have more of the same things in them than clinic notes and can make you more money.
Very true. I've also found 20-30 years in SM
makes a person resistant to any kind of advancement in technology. I've seen MTs of 20+ years who don't even use an Expander because they don't want to learn anything new. Then they complain that they can't make any money.
So true. Massive overhiring. Shouldn't have left my other job for Webmedx. Use caution....nm
Good luck.
Not true. I worked at Transcend for years and things have
For years people at Transcend were very friendly and the only time things got really heated on the forum were over personal opinion posts like politics and stuff. Not any more. More and more people are to the point of not knowing what to do with this company anymore. People who have been there years and years have quit or are quitting, and I think most of the peers that are happy are relatively new and haven't seen the downward spiral. A friend of mine quit a while ago and said she got a letter about a month after she quit asking her to sign a release saying she wouldn't take Transcend to court or be party to any claims relating to her employment with Transcend. If things were that hunky dory they wouldn't be so scared that they need to ask people to sign waivers when they leave.
True. Most have less issues than the Q, though. I worked there 10 years before switching.
Webmedx definitely beats them. You can trust management at any of these larger places anymore.
3 years with Webmedx
x
Me, too. 3+ years with Webmedx. nm
nm
I have been at Webmedx for nearly 6 years, sm
I have NEVER run out of work, yes the 12-hour window is allowed, 35 hours is full time, benefits are affordable, have only gone up once since I have been here, great platform, great bosses, pay on time every time, very flexible scheduling. You will have to work either a Saturday or Sunday.
That's not always true. I have been editing a Powerscribe account for 2 years. The work sm
has actually steadily increased due to fewer and fewer radiologists self-editing their own work.
I know of at least 4 other Powerscribe accounts at Keystrokes that are also increasing in volume for the same reason.
I am sorry that the account you were on with Webmedx went to total self-edit. I know that Keystrokes had a few that did that too, just not all of them.
And Webmedx has only done transcription for 4 years.
x
Webmedx requires only 2 years.
x
Webmedx has been doing it for the 3 years I've been there, too.
Wonder if it's that way everywhere now? I don't see how you can have a 2nd job when, to work full-time at 1, you have to be available for about 16 hours so that you can get 8 in.
I have worked at Webmedx for 5 years now. The platform sm
issues are continually being worked on. I think the platform is slow when work gets low. Very flexible place to work. You get 12 hours to do your 7 or 8 hour day (35 hr/week is full time with benefits). I like the ShortHand and the platform, very user friendly, very, very simple to learn. The accounts I do are high ESL but that's fine by me. I have an ear for them, so not too much of a problem. My boss is wonderful, the QA folks are very helpful, and tech services can't be better, in my opinion. Hope this helps.
Webmedx hands down. Worked for the MQ for 10 years...sm
Everyone requires 98% on QA. I've been at Webmedx for about a year now and had worked for FutureNet inthe interim. I loved the people at FN. No one loves the people at MQ--new owners. Webmedx is better overall. Although no place is great anymore. Picky? Strange question.
Left MQ after 10 years for Webmedx, a better place. nm
x
I left EDiX/Spheris after 8 years there to come to Webmedx. SM
I moved over here in 2003 because I knew the recruiter and she told me it was a great place to work. She was right. The benefits are fair, the work plentiful, the bosses fantastic, and the QA staff wonderful. Good luck!
Webmedx didn't about 1-1/2 years ago. Good luck. nm
x
I left them over 4 years ago. Best thing I ever did. Moved to Webmedx. Quite happy. nm
.
My company lost the account I had worked on for 5 years. Webmedx got the
account so I followed it. I have interviewed with about a dozen companies the last year and out of all of them the only ones I considered were Keystrokes and Webmedx.
I'm at Webmedx after 10+ years at MQ. Good company. Plenty of work. SM
Pay is direct deposit and on time. You have a 12-hour window and 35 hours is considered full-time. I cleared QA review in less than a day, and they leave me alone to do my job. Benefits are affordable. I don't need the insurance, but I understand it's pretty good. Don't get much PTO the 1st year, 3 days. If you know you will need to be off ANY time in the first 6 months or so, tell the recruiter. Line rate is fair and you can negotiate. They have a bonus/incentive plan that allows you to earn good money. Seems like no place is great these days, but they are probably as good as it gets. Feel free to E-mail me if I can help you out.
Very true, really long weekends at times, but no real vacation in 7 years.I'll travel when retire
nm
Not necessarily true. That is not a true test of skill.
Do you know how many people get others to take tests for them? It happens and it happens more often than you might think. The only skill that shows anyway is that you can do it.
We are actually more than a transcriptionist. We are specialists in our field and we are supposed to know some things regarding anatomy and physiology as a working base. That's how we can judge if a physician dictates something in accurately and many do because they can't pronounce or just are not thinking. That's why our skills of basic knowledge come into play and that means basic knowledge of body parts. If our job was just to sit there and type without thinking about what we are transcribing, then all patients are in trouble and this is just based on what I see as a QA person.
It's more than just knowing how to transcribe and some of the companies have discovered how to know what your basic knowledge is based on what you have picked up with your experience by utilizing your references etc. Hopefully that utilization of your references has taught you something that does stick in your head.
Beliefs like yours are just so far off base. You have to know what you are doing. It's not just about being able to listen and type. Base knowledge is a very important thing and the services have to find a way to know that knowledge base that is there in your head.
The Rates Are Posted Here and Posted Below
The service owner fees are posted in a UnionNow post (below), but here they are again:
SERVICE OWNERS CHARGE:
$0.115 - $0.25 per line for full transcription of acute care on 24/7 accounts
$2.75 - $7.65 per report for full transcription of pathology, lab, specialty operative notes, plain film and interventional radiology
$0.097 - $0.125 per line for VR editing
OF THAT MONEY, MTs ARE RECEIVING
$0.85 - $1.25 per report full transcription
$0.06 - $0.115 per line full transcription
$0.035 - $0.06 per line for VR editing
AS OUR PRODUCTION BRINGS THE MONEY IN, WE DESERVE A LARGER CHUNK OF THE PROFITS - OFFICE STAFF CAN BE TRIMMED INSTEAD OF THE PRODUCTION STAFF. IF A RECEPTIONIST MISSES A DAY OF WORK, ANYONE CAN ANSWER THE PHONE IN HER PLACE. IF AN MT NEEDS A DAY OR SO OFF, PATIENT CARE CAN SUFFER BECAUSE AN INTEGRAL MEMBER OF A HEALTH CARE TEAM IS UNAVAILABLE.
WE ARE STILL EXTREMELY IMPORTANT IN THE HEALTH CARE PICTURE. DO NOT SELL YOURSELVES SHORT.
IF YOU ARE AGAINST UNIONS OR INITIATIVES, I WHOLEHEARTEDLY RESPECT YOUR OPINION, BUT BEG THAT YOU RESEARCH, SPEAK TO OTHERS, EDUCATE YOURSELVES ABOUT WORKERS UNITED. WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE HERE; THEY'VE TAKEN ALMOST EVERYTHING FROM US.
WE PROPOSE:
$1.25 PER REPORT TRANSCRIBED IN THE U.S.A. BY A U.S. MTs
$0.10 PER LINE TRANSCRIBED IN THE U.S.A. BY A U.S. MTs
$0.075 PER VR LINE EDITED IN THE U.S.A. BY U.S. MTs
What is Webmedx FL? Webmedx itself is located in Pittsburgh & Atlanta. nm

Webmedx ad apply at Webmedx or Transhealth ? (sm)
Apply to one address if you need equipment, another if you want to use your own? Does this mean they are still acting as 2 separate companies? Can anyone explain this?
I talked to them today. They want 3 years in a hospital or 5 years combination sm
hospital and at home or clinic and at home. For radiology, they want 3 years full time radiology. I thought they were very nice and I have a few friends that work for them and are happy. The pay seems average to high for what I am seeing now. I think they are 0.08 per line or 1.08 for radiology. Beats what I will have with the new MQ program.

This may be true... and that is philisophically true, but
and pay bills while being screwed? This is what I think the OP is scared of... I certainly agree and honestly think it is unfair to put people in this precarious position... on one hand be grateful you still have your job, or a job, and on the other, immediately there will possibly be a cut in pay, for which you may have to give up your home, or medicine or reduce your budget for food. I don't know if I am the only one, but I think the OP still has a good head on her shoulders and that may be the problem...at least for employers out there who are switching to VR.. and their employees
I worked on site for many years. I've been doing this for 10 years... sm
I've worked on site, at home, for small MTSOs, for nationals, for hospitals. I've been paid per line, per minute, and per hour. I've been an MT and a QA. I have ALWAYS worked weekends and ALWAYS worked nights for the shift differential because MTs can't survive on 6 or 7 cents a line. At least I can't and I type 105 wpm.
I've BEEN dedicated from day 1, sister, so you are barking up the wrong tree.
15,000 lines per pay period. 8 years with KS, 6 years on this account! nm
Not going anywhere else!
30 years - this WAS my career. The last few years you guys have ruined it.
You work 9-5? Big deal. I work more than you do. I bet I work harder too. Treat US with respect, lady!
Don't talk to us like that and don't expect us to kiss your feet. Kiss ours for a change!
See if you'll be producing more after 30 years of MT'ing and at 50+ years old.
I don't think so. My income increased every year also, until I reached age 50 and 30 years of MT'g, been downhill ever since.
It wasn't tough 5 years ago. Or 10 years ago, yet
How to you spell
G-R-E-E-D ???
All the shifty, dishonest, greedy pigs in this country belong in JAIL.
Webmedx?? Why do you say Webmedx is foreign??

They posted everything else, why not the....

unfortunately, whenever a job is posted - sm
no matter what is specified for requirements for the job, you would be surprised just how many people will send a resume. With all the jobs I have posted, I make sure I put the necessary requirements, i.e. foreign language requirement, absolutely no offshore companies, etc., and I STILL GET 100+ emails from people that have no idea what transcription is (yes, they actually put that down), Indian and Phillipine companies emailing, as well as the countless number of people that do not even remotely meet the requirements. I have even had some with gross misspellings!!! Can you believe that?
I hope this isn't harsh, but it can be quite frustrating just weeding through the resumes to find the ones that actually fit the bill.
It wouldn't surprise me that you have not heard from them yet - they are probably still weeding through the resumes. If you are qualified, then hang in there, I'm sure they will contact you.
I posted asking about....sm
The computers companies provide, whether they were crap or not and that appears to be gone as well. I did not identify a specific employer or anything. Having a failing computer and job hunting currently, I just wondered what you'd get but someone posted that it made sense for the company to send you a decent system so they could keep you working. I could see her point....a perspective I had not looked at.
I know they posted an ad
I believe I would write to them and ask, or call if they have an 800 number to find out if they want IC or employee MTs. Don't know if they offer insurance or not.
I have posted before on this co. sm
The staff is great..really nice people..they paid me my s/o bonus even after I quit before my 60 days which I thought was great..however, if you do not like MedType or MedRite..forget it. Hey, when I got the 6 huge binders of paperwork with my PC..I knew I was in for trouble. It doesn't have to be that hard.
