Why would it be stabbing another MT (sm)

in the back if her rates were less?  She probably didn't even have a clue what your friend was charging.  When I was recruiting new clients, I asked around and there wasn't a single MTSO in this area that was willing to tell me what the going rate was.  She probably set the rate that she was comfortable earning and the account your friend was at decided it was better.

At least they gave your friend the opportunity to match the rates.  Lots of other places would just dump her and go with the cheaper account.  If I quote a clinic a price and it's less than their current company is paying, that's not my fault.  It's the fault of the closed-mouthed MTSOs who won't share information IMHO.
