Why does that MT even have a job?

This is the exactly the point in those conversations about the word board. Access to MT training is nice and easy to get now, but the quality is not always there. We end up with mediocre transcriptionists. They'll never learn if they're never held accountable for it either. I'm not saying any of us learned everything in school, but when you have to research something you'll have a better chance of remembering it. I've been an MT for 13+ years, and I still learn something almost every day.
I appreciate QA very much. Of course, just as there are crabby, complaining MTs...there are crabby QA as well. Never judge a group by an individual.
