All of you (ex and current employees posting ad nauseum about that stupid company) sound like a bunch of NUTS.

Go get help!  No one cares what you think, move on with life.  Or get a life, whichever applies to you.

it must be bad judgment on your part, but don't lump sum the rest of us who do take pride in our work and do have great work ethics and take our jobs seriously! 

other things you mentioned are a given for the job. When I say proofread, I mean type a report, then go back and proof, not proof as you go. I am sure we all do that.

Everyone, regardless of what they are paid, should spell check, know their accounts, know grammar and punctuation usage, etc.

I am sure many would lose money if paid hourly, sounds like you are doing well, good for you! If I had the attention span I am sure I could make what you make. I should make that my goal this year. However, how many times on these boards have you read that I am only making $3 an hour. I have read that more than I have read that people are making what you make.

What about your benefits? Do you have retirement with matching contribution from your company? Do you have health insurance, dental, vision, etc, paid for by your company (or at least sharing the cost). Do you  have paid days off? Please, I would really like to know. If I am making $30k a year with the above benefits, essentially I am almost making what you make with my benefits, wouldn't you think? I would have to run some numbers, but I think we would come very close in salary.

Also, depending on where you live, $30k can be good money. If you live in Hawaii, which is the most expensive state to live, $30k might not get you far, however, if you live in Missouri, $30k might be great money. Let's face it, $50k is not that great if you live in downtown Manhattan.

So, we throw in something else to think about, cost of living. Since an MTSO generally hires nationwide, is the cost of living of your employee a factor in what you pay?

I would think that the way an MTSO pays is generally driven by being competitive with the next company (our prices are lower)not necessarily based on cost of living or taking into consideration the education and experience of the people they are going to hire.

 I am leaning toward Webmedx.  They offer fantastic benefits.  It's true, the starting pay for ERs is not great, but with the incentive plan and evening/weekend differential - yeah, not bad.  They offer a 12-hour window for getting work done (on some accounts). 

 Now, the question is, are the ESLs okay, bad, simply terrible, or just flat out unbelievable?!!!! 
 

I'm trying not to beat myself up too much about the test/score.  I guess what they meant by timed test is that you have 24 hours to reply to the email and/or take the test and send it back to the company.  But even still, I took as much time as I needed and used all of my reference materials to make double sure my answers were right.  There was only one question that I could not find an answer to and therefore I guessed at the answer but even still that shouldn't have given me the score of 88.  But, needless to say, that is water under the bridge and I'm moving down the river to stop at the next sand bar. 

As a matter of fact I have another email in my box from another company wanting to talk to me but need to do a little research on them first.  Zylomed - any info?

I try not to rely solely on Radiology, however, it is my absolute favorite.  I absolutely, postively cannot stand to do OP notes so I try to stay away from hospital accounts.

I too really like my Vista and I do hope they upgrade to Vista.  I am just about to learn ExText so I don't know much about it.  I have been working in ChartScript and love it.  I am hoping this platform is as easy.  I use my laptop to work when I am away from home and it is frustrating when these companies don't take the time to update platforms to Vista.  You have to special order computers with XP on them now.  Thanks again.
