No shift diff??
I've ALWAYS gotten a 2nd shift differential in Ohio...wow, that's not fair to U.
Very few. More often a 2nd or 3rd shift diff will

What do you mean by wkd/diff to line 1 - have to work whole weekend?

Transtech does have shift diff's for 2nd, 3rd,
Don't know cost of family insurance.

How much is family ins at Trantech, is there a shift diff?

A friend's printed offer said 6-8.5 cpl with CMTs making more. Don't know about shift diff. or

That's exactly it - the shifts everyone wants (day shift, MF) are filled but the others sm
are open. Should we just not fill them because YOU don't have enough to do? My STM sent out info regarding what shifts were open and asked if anyone was interested in taking on that account. Obviously not enough people were interested, meaning they have to hire to fill those weekend and night shifts.
second shift/weekend
I work second/third shift and one weekend day but I do not get a shift diff so the pay is the same either way. I am on SR and only make 0.06 a line. The shift diff would have helped out.
Plus shift and/or weekend differentials.

You could prob get a first shift, but not sure about the weekend day. sm
I think possibly you would have to work 1 weekend day. I am not 100% on that though. If you wanted to work 2nd shift, say 2-10 pm or 3-11 pm, you might get a M-F schedule.
4.5 with shift & weekend incentives

No more shift/weekend differentials?
I'd love to know how they justify that. They've turned this into your average restaurant job, except with less time on your feet.

So, before the suits show up, let me say that I don't blame you one bit for wanting out of this dead-ender BS. I'm exploring my options myself. Best of luck to you!
shift and weekend differential - sm
Not sure why YOU didn't get this differential, but I DID - no longer though. Just goes to show how many different pay brackets there are at Transcend. So, just because your ROM doesn't know about the pay cut doesn't mean it isn't coming. I got my call last week - some are only getting them now. I hope you don't get it, but forewarned is forearmed.
Companies that pay shift and weekend differentials..???
I work every weekend and also evenings. It takes a lot of sacrifice on my family life and I wondered if any companies out there really do pay a differential to make it worthwhile. Thanks
None, unless you work both weekend days on the night shift. nm

MedWare pays shift and weekend differentials. nm

Webmedx pays weekend and shift differential. nm

Used to be 7.4-7.7 cpl for clinic, 8 cpl for hospital w/1 weekend shift, 10 if U worked entire

TransHealth just implemented an incentive plan, plus shift and weekend differentials. nm

Very good company. Incentive pay for production plus shift and weekend differentials. sm

Their platform is stable (proprietary, I've been on it for about a year and a half now).  Pay is always on time.  Good support staff.  Their insurance changed this year.  Plenty of work.  They don't overhire on their accounts from what I can see.  If anything, there is always plenty of work, which I like because I can hop on outside of my regular shift and get some more lines.  Now that they pay extra for weekends, I like to pick up some extra hours then.

Precyse - do they allow split shifts and what are the shifts? (sm)

I see they are hiring for 2nd and 3rd shifts.  I know a friend of mine works for a company where as long as over half your shift is in that time frame it is acceptable.

It says they are hiring for new accounts, might be a good time to make a change.

A 3-day weekend every weekend? Wouldn't that be nice. Good luck with that!..nm

Thank you. What is the pay diff btwn Lvl 3 and 4?

We are SE not IC. Does that make diff for U/E?

Ya know, even if I spend time during my shift or after that shift

it is still MY time, expected by the company, and I am not getting paid for it regardless.  I don't answer my phone while I am working, never did, never will.  What other profession, while probably punching a clock, do folks work for free?  If I worked in an office doing this, that time would be paid - say 15 minutes a day x 5 days a week at even $10/hour =   $50 a month - and it is more time spent than that to deal with the email thing and the reminders and the changes in specifics and logging in and out of 3 different accounts when primary is out of work.  GRRR.

I don't change jobs easily either, glad you are happy where you are - but producing 1400 lines of ACCURATE text will end my career soon (and probably yours also) and then what are we all to do?  My goal is not to work more, work harder and longer hours to produce a salary I can live on.

There are diff Sten-Tels (sm)

I worked for them (the one in Springfield, MA) for about 18 months, up until September.  I ended up quitting because there was no work and I could not get anyone, from my account supervisor to HR management, to either a) tell me why the account I was on dried up even though the docs had just opened a second office, or b) get me onto an account that had work, or even c) respond to half my emails (account manager).  I did enjoy the work, it was straight typing (the platform I was on, they have 2), and the work was pretty consistent until mid-July.  After six weeks of begging, I had to move on.  Oh, and the kicker?  When I would actually get work, I could tell by the job number that literally 10s of thousands of jobs had moved through the system since the last time I worked.  But they couldn't find any jobs for me to do....And don't zing me on QA, please.  In the 18 months I was there I only had maybe 5-6 reports come back to be fixed or with notes from the client, and that was early on.

Now, having said that - if they called me and offered me work again under a different account supervisor would I take it? Absolutely.

There are many different Sten-Tels out there, and from what I can tell they are mostly franchises, with the main branch being the one in Springfield.  They pay once a month, and the checks were usually delievered via USPS anywhere from actually on the 15th to up to a week later.  There were some pay discrepancies a couple of times, but as soon as I mentioned them they were fixed.

Hope that helps.

Axolotl pays a diff.

Actually, that 10% I stated was too low - what is the diff between cpl spaces vs nonspaces?

I work for 2 diff MT companies and love it
Like you I do not need insurance. I like the differences between the two companies I work for, both have their pros and cons (as any company does),the flexibility is better than being a full-time MT for one company but the flexibility is still limited but it is there...the second company I work for is really really good if you have to flex your schedule...for me changing companies usually was becuase of the hours not working for me, this is a solution that has worked for me for over a year now and I have been a transcriber for 31 years...good luck, do what is best for you!!!
ps with the second company I asked for more money than I was making with the first company and ended up getting what I asked for..GOOD LUCK
I believe OP is referring to DocuMed in NJ (dff spelling, diff co.)

with 16 years I would suspect you to know the diff. between wave and waive?!?!?
nm
Was there a short time last year. You work as an employee, not IC. Different software/diff. accts.
s
They pay well 10 cpl days, 11 cpl 2nd shift, 12 for 3rd shift
1300 lines a day required, 65 character line. They have benefits. Don't know much else.
I have worked both 3rd shift and day shift (SM)
including what you call banker's hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). I ran out of work more often on 3rd than I do now on the day shift.
D&L shifts, etc ...
There are no shifts, that's the good thing. Let's say you have an ortho surgeon and he dictates 3 days a week. He becomes your primary and whenever he dictates, usually you will know what days and everything, you may have 2 day turnaround or just 24 hour turnaround, just depends on the doctor you have. They generally will give you more than one doctor depending on how much work you want. I had 4 doctors. One was every day, 24 hour, another was 3 days a week, 48 hour, another was split between 2 people because he was every day and lots and lots, and they also give you a secondary doctor so you can be backup. It is really flexible cause there are no shifts as long as you get the work back to them in the time frame that you are required to for that particular doctor. I don't think think they deal much with the basic 4, at least not when I worked for them. The only downfall was no direct deposit and cpl. Otherwise, I would recommend that company for flexibility compared to some others.
TT shifts
Yes, shifts are required and you are supposed to complete the whole shift, even if you have already met your minimum line count before it's over. On the other hand, you can make up lines anytime you want. They've been great to me whenever I've need to swap a day or change my shift by an hour or two, etc.
TT shifts:

Here is an excerpt: ****

*** Please do not post company communications.  ***

you can pick from 3 different shifts
10-6, 11-7 or 12-8 and I believe you have to work Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs. You type and get paid hourly, but you have to do a minimum of 1000 lines a day. That's about it in a nutshell.
yes but you can work 1 of 3 different shifts 10p-6a, 11p-7a, or 12a-8a
nm
also Tues-Sat shifts-nm
xx
Yes, they do allow split shifts,
like the poster below stated, it would still be specific time frame.
all of the shifts are monitored - sm
What I mean by that is, if your hours are 7-11 and 4-8, and let's say you are on a 3 minute report at 9:45 a.m. and at 10:25 you are still on that report, someone from Diskriter might call your house to see if you are actually working, and they will want to know what is taking so long to do a 3 minute report. They may even ask if you are taking a 15 minute break etc.
There are 2nd and 3rd shifts here working - nm

I'm sick of set shifts as an IC.
THEN getting constant IMs to work when I'm supposed to be 'off'.  If you want me at your beck and call you better be giving me benefits!
Yet the have an ad on this board for ALL shifts?

That almighty TAT -- I have questioned this and questioned this with them, but no answers to my satisfaction.  They always seem to answer the part of the question that they want to answer and dodge the rest.

There has been work disappearing around 9 a.m. -- not just on Mondays!  I thought it was a little strange last week when I noticed by looking at the time the job was dictated that a **chunk** of dictation just like angel dust was gone!

Seems quite selfish of them to leave us with no work, but I guess TT's way of getting their money back from the 25.00 Amex gift certificate that **gave** for MT week!  What a gift that has turned out to be for us MT's out of WORK!

FT 40, PT 20 & hiring for all shifts
I love it here and wish I had made my move earlier!
Shifts at Keystrokes??

KS offered me a position today working 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., turned it down because I am looking for first shift.  I wondered what different shifts people here worked for KS.  Plus, do you HAVE to work 9 hours?  I usually just work through lunch, not sure if I want to stop for a whole hour.
