Currently using ExText with Transnet and it is so slow. Need to find a company with some decent software that runs faster. Im getting frustrated, and some days are worse than others. Today is a worse day.

Does anyone know the pay range for decent companies,
including VR. Guess I have to bite the bullet and learn how to do it, but would lke to be paid a decent line rate. I am experienced.

Who are the good companies that do ASR and pay a decent rate?
I have been an MT a long time - 19 yrs and I am interested in learning ASR, but I need to get informed and rate, companies, realist expectations on lph, etc. If you can help me out and share your knowledge, I would really appreciate it. Are you getting decent responses from companies for positions if you have experience and are
a good transcriptionist. I am going to start looking but it seems there are so many looking I am just wondering how it is going job wise.
Are there ANY companies out there that actually offer decent family medical coverage??
Some are just downright ridiculous amounts. Right now, I am with a company that offers decent single coverage but the family is like $750 a month and I cannot just work for insurance. There has to be something left over to like....eat on... or pay bills. Any suggestions out there. I do have over 13 years of experience.
Companies are hardly offer FT employees any decent benefits so I think is going to be rare to find
them for PT employees. I would love that too, unfortunately, I work too much just to get below average benefits. Best of luck in your search. Honestly, I think the only place you'll find benefits for part-timers is going in-house at a hospital.
As a whole.. nice people to work for, decent benefits but the get off/on the system, work/no work,
is maddening. I couldnt pay my bills or even work the schedule I was assigned. They would ask us not to work until work built up in the evenings and I specifically wanted to work days as I have kids etc. It just didnt work out for me but to each his own. It just seems there has to be a better balance in this business that what is happening.
Sten-Tel is the platform. Different companies use it, pay and how companies run are different. nm

The OP is saying she has no decent work, which
obviously seems lack of work. Your post sounds more like a confessional to clear your own guilt - apples and oranges! You have oodles of work, and the OP doesn't! Get it?
Decent for PT work
I worked for them for several months. It was OK. The work was pretty difficult and I have a lot of experience with ESLs. I always got paid, but not always on time. QA is a b***h, but that was just my experience. I'd personally keep looking.
Do you know if they are decent to work for or anything about them?

I work for All Type. They are a decent company.
Check them out. I am an IC but if you live in certain states you can be an employee or SE. Not sure if they need anyone right now though.

They DON'T pay a decent wage or provide ample work.
They're sending it all to India. That's the point.
I do Rad for TT. Pay is good, tons of work, decent accounts. I know they are hiring a few more

Decent place to work - the owner is fair and reasonable.
I have known GG, the owner, for a long time. I worked for her as an IC and never had a problem, except for the no work syndrome, but that was about 5 years ago. Hope they are busier now.
If I had to go back and work for a company, JLG would be the place.
I am a remote employee directly for a hospital now, so no need to work for a company.
I can vouch for JLG anytime. Pay is always on time, their staff is friendly and professional, never had a problem with QA.
sad part is, those decent docs likely have no idea their work is being sent overseas. nm

I wouldn't quit a decent company for seasonal low work volume.
I'd hang around and see what the New Year brings. I wouldn't say that if you were working for MQ, but I would for a company with a decent reputation. If it is still slow in January, I'd talk to my supervisor and find out what her take is on the situation.
Cant that be done on any platform though. Why does it seem DQS is the worst. Is that why companies
buy this platform. I wonder if you asked a company about it if they would be honest about every little thing they do to take away lines. I only know for a fact that it reduced my lines tremendously going from a DOS program to DQS on the same account with the same dictators.

Are there ANY companies out there that use the same platform for every account they have? It seems that most MT companies out there are using whatever platform the hospital has so they can tap right into their system.
I know Medquist uses the same one (I am not working for Medquist, did that already) and to me it seems like that is the best way to do things. Have every facility have the work done on your platform. This business about MTs working for companies and every account uses a different platform is crazy.
Any opinions or answers to the question of what companies do NOT use a bunch of different platforms?

Am looking for part time editing job, but cannot load EditScript. Tried Transcend, but the VR just disappeared out of the queue. load normally busy, but low now because of the summer slow down on my accounts. Sound an issue on some accounts, but not others. Overall, wonderful company.
Well it sounds like no work happens a lot at DSG. How are the accounts as far as decent accounts

I believe it depends on what platform u work on. I work on
Extext and I love it!!!!! I have not transcribed even part time in years. First night in less than 2 hours hit 300+ lines. Second night a little over 2 hours hit 350+ lines. This is all learning a new system so I find it interesting and fun.
How is this platform to work on?
Is it productive for MTs? Can ShortHand work with it. Thanks for any info

The new software is just awesome and I hear we have a large hospital starting next week. Give them a call if you are looking for work. I can not help you with the other two you mentioned but can wish you good luck with your search. L.

I really love ExText and I know they do have accounts on that platform. I did apply and got to the interview stage but then decided to back out because of the bad remarks on this site. I certainly hope I won't be sorry. How is their cpl rate compared to others? Thanks.
Not very organized. Had more than 1 platform to work on
I had 3 accounts and had to learn new platform for each. I didn't stay with them very long. Found a better place.

Super platform to work in.
Emdat is by far one of the most user friendly and productive platforms I have used. MTs working with me have commented on the ease of learning and a great manual coupled with a wonderful tutorial to get you started. Additionally, it has many features that include automatic log which shows you where you are at any point in the day .. email me if you have any specific questions.
