You will be charged more than your deposit
The software on a computer is more than the deposit itself.
If you were charged deductibles at Dr office, then you
You need to ask if the MD participates in your plan before seeing him/her. Almost all doctors in all states participate with BC even if it is an out-of-state BC policy.
Not sure if this list is up to date or if a fee is charged, but here's

Diskriter, Precyse, Opti-Script (Penn.), CIT (Charts in Time, FLA.), WebMedX, Transcend, Trans-Tech?, MQ?, Spheris, and Amphion.

I get charged the opposite - i have to pay $5 per check for DD. nm

Not uncommon to be charged a deposit.
Some do. Webmedx, TT and Amphion to name a few.

Axolotl ?? cannot remember for sure.

Some don't (Diskriter and Precyse Solutions).

Others require you to provide your own equipment.
Unless dr. checks rates, he probably charged for

As employee status, you should not be charged...sm
for use of equipment to do company work.  Those are DOL rules, not made up.  IC status is different; you have to provide your own equipment, but again, you'll be able to deduct it as a business expense.
I thought it was good when I charged

I charged that even for half pages.  I did clinic work, so most were only short letters.  Doctor was happy and I was happy.  I transcribed in Word.  The difference was made up when I had length letters for the workers' comp cases, so it all evened out.

I'd shoot for that in a minute!

Line rate charged to client

I am trying to find out what MTSO's are charging for line rates in different areas of the country.  Please let me know.

Thanks

With a Smart A mouth like yours, I woulda charged ya double
LOL...............
15 years ago, I charged .22 per line to big accounts. Now I have been forced down to .13 per line.
This is in part due to offshore companies, in part due to newbies coming in and underbidding to get an account but not being able to service it and then the account expecting everyone else to meet that price. The market is being driven down by many forces, and it is not pretty. I used to pay .14 per line (gross line too) and now pay my subs 0.08. It is not something I wanted to do, but something that was necessary. With only 15 MTs, I feel the squeeze more than some of the big companies out there, but cannot grow and keep up the same standards.

Healthcare in general is not the money-maker it once was, and transcription has taken a hard hit over the years.
