on that one. Your contract probably says as an SE you are an independent contractor and as such have no benefits, guarantee of work, etc, etc. It's reasonable though I think to able to give them a general schedule such as what days, general time frame, etc. so work is covered and give them a little warning if you're not going to be on, kind of like if your plumber says he's coming out on Monday between 8 and noon and you make plans to be there to let him in.
