I worked at home when my 2 kids were small also, I could only work part-time cause there are only so many hours in the day and yes, kids take up your time.
I worked from 3 am to 7 am, then get the kids up, do the routine, worked for an hour while they napped, and 5 hours a day was plenty.
Maybe she does not want the company to work around her life and choices, maybe she does not want to lose skills or lose part of herself just because she had kids.
Also, I believe it is the responsible thing to teach you kids how to become working, productive members of society and not just be a *mom.* Lighten up on her, the world made this a place where you need 2 incomes!
Companies like someone that can work those super early hours cause most full-timers want 9 to 5.
