Webmedx ad apply at Webmedx or Transhealth ? (sm)
Apply to one address if you need equipment, another if you want to use your own? Does this mean they are still acting as 2 separate companies? Can anyone explain this?
Webmedx/Transhealth
Are these 2 companies now merged? Anybody know if they pay QA hourly and if so how much? Is this a good company to work for in QA. Any helpful info is much appreciated.
Webmedx and Transhealth
I have seen a few ads for WebMedX that say:
For candidates who desire company-provided equipment, please fill out our online application at www.webmedx.com AND For candidates who wish to use their own equipment, please apply online at www.transhealth.com.
I'm confused....does that mean they are the same company? So you can work as an IC for WMX, but you can only work as SE for Transhealth....Right?
TIA
Also want feedback on TransHealth and WEBMEDX
They both sound like great companies...I'm trying to decide between TransHealth and Webmedx.....both have great websites and I don't think I've seen anything negative about either one of them in the archives. I just don't want to jump out of the MQ frying pan into a bigger fire!
Webmedx buys Transhealth.
We received an e-mail today stating this.
Unhappy QA at Webmedx -- Transhealth questions
I'm yet another unhappy CQI/QA member at Webmedx and have to say a big THANK YOU to anyone who has ever spoken up about their negative experiences at Webmedx (though I understand anybody who's too afraid to speak publicly, which seems to be the majority of the QA department!). I realize that it takes much more courage to speak up than kiss up or stay quiet, so I always appreciate anybody who comes to these boards and posts. And anybody who's been in this industry any amount of time knows that the adage all mention of the company is good advertising doesn't apply to this field. Things have definitely taken a turn for the worst with the QA portion of the company, IMO.
I have questions about Transhealth, which has been recommended as an alternative to doing QA at Webmedx. I'd like to know what the upper management of TransHealth is like. Is the person who manages the QA department someone with a background in MT, or is it someone who is a data puncher but doesn't even do that well? Do they express support for QA, or do they seek to squelch communication online and in the department through intimidation because they're afraid of criticism and fallout of their decisions? Do they have several people at the top who handle different departments, or do they have one person in several roles, perhaps all of which they're unqualified for? What kind of quota is there, and how are you paid? Does ALL your work count toward the quota, or do you find yourself doing a lot of work that doesn't qualify?
I realize this is much to answer. Please feel free to add anything else you'd like that would help me make a choice. Thank you!

TransHealth, Transsolutions, DSG, Webmedx, Spheris
Can anyone give me current information on working as a QA for TransHealth, Transsolutions, DSG, Webmedx, and Spheris? Do they pay hourly? How do they test? Employee or IC positions? Workflow? Do they require 100% listen on all reports or are some fill in the blanks?
Are there any companies you would recommend for a QA position and can you please provide above-requested info?
Thank you all for your help and kindness in providing any information possible.
Webmedx bought TransHealth, but it appears
they are still 2 separate companies for now, still using both names. Webmedx had a couple of ads posted this week or last that said they paid QA hourly, but I don't know their rate. I hated it from day one there but I was an MT. I don' know how it is on the QA end, though several or us complained about QA because we never got feedback and work was bypassing QA and going directly to the client. They have overhired MTs, but have severely underhired QA.
I do know Webmedx bought TransHealth a couple of months ago. nm
xx
Anyone currently working Webmedx/Transhealth radiology would care to share info on them - sm
Are all of the dictators ESL as in the test on the website? If you sign on as a radiology MT are you still allowed a 12-hour window. Has workload been fairly consistent? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I took the test and would like some info before I am contacted. TIA.
the same respect we once had
Meaning being in the same tax bracket we were in from 3 years ago back many years. If you have been in the field for a long time, you know what I am talking about. Someone needs to break this trend!
No respect for MTs
From what I hear they have little respect for their MTs, pay is way below industry standards, and they expect a lot but aren't offering a decent line rate for experienced MTs to join the company, very substandard line rates I believe around 7 cents a line entry rate no matter if you type clinic notes or radiology reports. Do a search, seems that quantity is more important than quality and they don't pay enough for either. Big turnover of editors too which in itself says something.
I respect much of what you said, BUT....sm
You are generalizing and surmising facts not in evidence (too much CourtTV!). Anyway, I have been an MT for 20 years, all types of MT, office, hospital, clinic, management, remote, locals, IC accounts, every specialty, radiology, psychiatry, even autopsies!! I was an English major before I transferred to human biology for Certification in Medical Assisting....4.0, perfect grammar, hard worker, very disciplined, average 200 lph or more, depending on accounts, platform, etc.....when I got back into MT after hiatus this fall, I tested with Amphion, along with several other companies....to my knowledge, I found all of the testing, subjective, objective, and transcription, really familiar and easy....after several offers from other companies and being hired at MQ at top Tier, I was told by Amphion I did not possess the special skills of an Amphion MT yet. Huh??????
with all due respect, but can we as MTs ..sm
ourselves really compare to doctors? Isn't this a bit swell-headed?
Why don't you try tomorrow to do a heart transplant? Let's see how you are doing.
respect would be nice
The big national company i used to work for gave no money and no respect.
I respect your opinion
but how many jobs even give you an option? You're an employee. Period.
If you look at the industry overall, look at IRS changes, look at global climate, you will see that this is a good thing. Or not.
I figure it's better to make lemonade when handed lemons than to see if I can be a sourpuss. :)
With all due respect, I have attended
with 2 nationals, one being the Squid, and I was quite frankly surprised at how tech un-savvy some of my fellow trainees were. They sounded like all they knew how to do was turn on the computer and get to their platform. Anything outside of that threw them into a tizzy and they were totally lost.
I can see where this particular MTSO is coming from, but she certainly could have worded the ad much better. It's rather insulting as it stands and I'm sure the kicker is that the pay is crap.
Appreciation and Respect
and money
Respect and professionalism
I agree. We deserve more respect, our paychecks on time and being treated like humans and not machines. I can do without the gifts, but more money like someone else suggested sure would be nice. The first post was truly from the heart. Thank you for sharing!
That's mature of you. LOL So, you don't respect
nm
have some respect for the polices . . .
of this board. It has been reiterated time and time again that there are to be no spelling police, not to mention no bullying or harassing on this board, but people like that just have no respect for those policies or for their fellow MTs (or probably anybody else on the planet), so they really don't deserve to have an entire thread devoted to their self-centered little rantings. I wish there was some way the policies could be better enforced so the trolls and bullies would stop dominating this board, but alas, they are persistent in their attention-seeking behavior. So really, maybe if we would just ignore them, they would eventually get tired of not succeeding at getting everybody stirred up and go away. And if I spelled anything wrong here or made any errors in grammar, guess what. I DON'T CARE! And please, get a life!
Lack of Respect from MDI
This is really so sad! Why are they lying and being so secretive? I have no respect for them any longer. The past respect is just that: Passed respect. It works both ways. HOW DO THEY EXPECT PEOPLE TO LIVE? Better to be honest about their situation, whatever that is, than this. And regarding the emails never answered, no answer IS an answer and the message is that you and your email are not important enough for them to pay attention to. Shameless behavior on their part and no sing-song email from the owner can discount the fact that they are blatantly giving the shaft to loyal employees.
I, too, have nothing but respect for MTSO
It's a mutually-beneficial relationship and while after the MDI debacle I'd never consider myself part of an MTSO as family, I am proud of the company, proud of my affilitation with them, and proud of the handsome paychecks with which my hard work is rewarded.
Not all MTSOs fit into the horrible category. Some of us are just lucky enough to have not have experienced it.
To those of you who have or are experiencing it, I am very sorry for you and I hope you find something worthy of your skills.
Sandy, with all due respect, since you don't work for OSI, it would seem to me that you
what it going on at OSI, therefore, you should probably stay out of it. To tell someone they're not doing their job right when they may very well have is not a very nice thing to say. CLEARLY, there is something amiss going on at OSI, otherwise there wouldn't be so many upset people.
Sounds like you have little to no respect for American MTs
and value much much more your overseas MTs. At least that's what I got from the post. From a business perspective, paying someone close to nothing as opposed to paying someone what they are WORTH, would be a plus for you.
However, from my perspective as an American MT for nearly 10 years, this is the kind of attitude that has nearly destroyed this field. Not only that, that kind of attitude is what is going to ruin this entire country.
with all due respect, your response is somewhat naive..sm
how easy do you think it is for a company to say our MTs are all U.S. based? Sweetness, it's called the internet. I can't believe some buy into this. If I were a doctor and assured that my dictation was being typed by all U.S. MT's, do you think I would buy that - no. Especially when they can hire overseas MTs and pay them half the wages. Pleae get with reality here. Have a great evening! Also, DRC has no say so now; remember, they were bought out.
Unlike you who treats everyone with respect, you mean?
Sometimes it just takes time to find the right fit. I wouldn't buy the first house I saw, and one should not be satisfied with a job until it's one you can actually wake up and feel good about working it. There are a LOT of companies out there who deserve bashing. Maybe you should learn to be more tolerant of others' opinions - we are, after all, all entitled to them.
The respect and geniune care of their MTs. nm
/
That speaks volumes for the respect MTs have for
NM
Outstanding job; honor & self-respect. Thank you.
.
Sorry -- forgot. With respect to getting paid -- sm
that has NEVER been a problem. Never late, always direct deposited on time.
Respect the American workforce?
Since when did sending American jobs overseas equate to respecting the American workforce? I am so happy that I do not work for any of these sleazy, offshoring MTSOs. People, get out while you can, seriously. This is pathetic!
If we are supposed to respect their culture when they come here,
then they should respect our culture when we go there.
They do not.
Westerners, particularly Americans, are expected to bend over backwards to respect other peoples' cultures, traditions, beliefs, etc., when traveling in other parts of the world.
We are also expected to bend over backwards to accommodate those differences when people from other parts of the world come to visit us. All in the name of respect. But where's the respect for OUR cultures, traditions, and beliefs?
Respect is a two-way street. If someone insists that I respect their culture, then I must insist that they respect mine.
This is what you said in your original post RESPECT..sm
We need to know more than most RNS, LPNS and
I dare say doctors -
Another case of swelled head?
ahh, should have said radiology -- I have no idea ight in that respect
That is why I never got into radiology. Too hard to make money.
With all due respect and just out of curiosity, why settle for this garbage pay? Go elsewhere..sm
preferably with a company who appreciates an experienced and quality MT. As long as they have enough U.S. MT's to work for these wages, our pay scale will continue to decline.
With respect, the real irony sadly is
that if you've followed these boards for at least 2 years, you already had an idea of what was going to happen. Several MTs made an effort here to warn as many as possible about the future loss of jobs. Many of the posts were ultimately deleted. I agree there is nothing gained from rehashing the past other than we must learn from it.
QT made a business decision. They built a company, made a profit, saw more/better/different profit elsewhere, designed a plan to get from point A to point B and moved on - happens every day in the business world. From all appearances, they did everything right for a while - had they not, there would not be this group of really great MTs struggling to deal with the loss of a job and the stress of starting anew. QT had an option - they could let their dedicated MTs know what was going to happen and ask them to ride things out as long as possible or they could just squeeze every last drop from each MT and each account. Too bad for the MTs but, after all, it's only business. If there were lies, deception, half-truths, etc., this too is a part of the profit/loss bottom line.
The real irony - and this is public knowledge - is that former QT owners have started new businesses and are bragging far and wide (see internet blogging) about their new employees.
Of course, finding a new scrapbooking job will probably be a little easier than finding and securing a new MT account.
You think?
I have a prediction (purely for entertainment purposes, of course) - Profits will not sustain the new venture/old lifestyle for very long and that within, oh 24 months or so, there will be a foot dipped into a new MT venture, since the old one was soooo profitable, and old habits are hard to break.
ick, sounds like no respect for anyone, worth abuse? NOT. run
xx
Oh Dear God! You are looking to Focus for truthfulness and respect?!?!!?!?
How much respect for their employees do they have when the fire them without notice, for no good reason, and then make you beg for the severance pay they promised? How truthful can they be when the Sr. Director of Recruitment posts on another site that they have 900 American MTs, but neglects to mention that they have 3800 Indian MTs?
While I'm at it, if they are truly bringing accounts back to the U.S., why or why did they just lay off a bunch of people? Wouldn't they need those people they laid off to help with the influx of work being brought back?
It makes absolutely no sense! But hey, take your chances. That's what I did -- worked out real well for me.
Geez - and people wonder why I have no respect whatsoever
.
Since when are good manners and respect "garbage"
Learning the proper way to refer to people of different origins isn't pc garbage friend, it's common courtesy, good manners, and respectful.
Or is that TOTALLY lost on you?
They're completely lost all of the respect I had for them
They always stood for honesty and integrity in an employer in my book.
Now that book has just been thrown onto the fire.
Best of luck to them on D's new money-making merget. Perhaps she'll make Fortune 500 or Forbes one day.
But she'll do it sans THIS loyal MDIer.
I'm outta here faster than MJ's doctor fleeing the scene.
I'm giving them exactly the respect and common decency they gave me.
Buh-bye, MDI!!!!!!
I have no respect for companies that send work overseas
Don't you think we have enough people right here in the US without jobs? Instead of paying a decent wage for an MT, companies get greedy and undercut our workforce of extremely talented and hard working MTs of which a large percentage are single moms.
With all due respect, with your husband making $100,000 a year, you may not need a response. sm
Your kids aren't carrying the weight of a household on their shoulders. A lot of MTs are in a position where they are the sole breadwinner, single moms. Nationals run out of work, offshore. Hospitals offshore or go to nationals. Things happen fast. Makes people desperate and edgy. Please have some compassion. I am not in this situation myself, but I empathize. With all the automation these days, truly how difficult is it for a recruiter/company to pop out an email saying the candidate did not qualify, etc.?
All it takes is treating people decently and with respect.
nm
Lots of us lost respect for QA quite a long time
Especially when no 2 can agree on the same thing. Easier to just ignore it and get on with our work. Besides, if we didn't make what you consider to be 'mistakes', you'd be out of a job, wouldn'tcha?
FN is a great company full of wonderful people who treat you with respect. SM.
But they only want to pay 4.5 cpl for SR, 5.5 for heme/onc. Can you believe that? Also, workload has been very, very low for a very long time.
No, Paul, you are not. Left last year due to lack of work, but not lack of respect. It's a shame
I liked 'em a lot.
What is Webmedx FL? Webmedx itself is located in Pittsburgh & Atlanta. nm

Transhealth LLC
Any good or bad on this company? Appreciate any info.
Transhealth
I worked for them for a month and a half. Very regimental about scheduling and time off. My dad had cancer and I took 3 days off to be with him and they griped. Also, very big brother. If you don't get up to speed within a week, they limit how many reports you can type to 10 a day (no matter what the length of report, long or short) until you get up to speed with quality and quantity. You work the schedule they want with no variations and if you are not in the chair when they think you should be will get e-mail from them asking where you are (even if it is something like you need to be in the bathroom a little longer because you don't feel well). Very particular on QA (as should be) and always checking on you. Go very strictly by AAMT book of Style and expect you to know it. will even send you a copy. Insurance is Blue Cross/Blue Shield out of Tennessee. They offer full benefit package of medical/dental/vision and do take out taxes. Dental is Delta Dental. The account they had me on out of east Tennessee was a hospital account that had a lot of very thick foreign dialects. I was not happy with them because I needed more flexible scheduling and they are set and that is it. If they tell you you work 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., you better have your butt in that chair the entire time between then. Another fact that my brother later pointed out to me is that they are an LLC company which is limited liability corporation, so if they close their doors for any reason, they are by law not liable to pay you anything of back wages and you just lose if they owe you anything when they close the doors. So, I am not real sure how long they have been around, but I think may be a young company of a few years, so that is something also to consider. If you like acute care and hospital dictation they have a lot of it. Not sure if all of their hospitals are like the one I had with a lot of foreigners, but that is the one they gave me. The day supervisor Kristin that I was training with to start with was very nice but I did not care for the evening supervisor, Teresa, who I thought was very harsh and like working under a drill sargent. So, that is what I can tell you. I am not trying to influence you only stating the facts as I know them from my experience with them. Someone else may have a different view than mine, but this is all the information I can give you.
