Their ad says they want dependable MTs. I didn't find the company to be that way myself. You can do much better for yourself.

Definitely watch your back and your side and your front. The main one is still there
that stabs everyone in the back. I left there a long time ago but so many have been used and stabbed.
The reason for the stabbing is TOTAL LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM. When I was there, they had a wonderful QA staff. I worked QA on salary (not enough salary but on salary). Many unethical things went on and many knew it, some didn't. I could not work for a company that was that unethical with the backstabbing and the plans. Many have left, many come, many gone. I would not work for them for anything. There are some companies out there that are good. This is NOT one of them.
Watch out for SPi
I used to work for MQ and started working for SPi before all the latest changes that really screw up the MT compensation. Nobody here cares about doing things the right way and they can make you work for nohting at all. Recently found out that one of the managers at MQ that was one of the reasons I left there has made op manager at SPI and she is probably behind all these bad decisions. DONT WORK FOR THIS PLACE. I have just given my notice and am moving on. SPI wont be a good place to work until they start listening to the people who really know what they are doing and stop listening to the people that will bring the company down. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

they seem to be going down more. Look at them. Even want to pay less (7 cent)until off QA. We are already losing big time as if, we make even less until get used to their system, acct specific etc. I could understand if paid by the hours, but this is not the case at all. WE not the company are the ones who lose during this period.
Look at the ads, 7 to 8 cents. POOH!!!! Even saw 5 cents and recent... in last few days.

Lots of posts on another board about them requiring schedules for ICs and requiring full time people to work 40 hours even though the requirements for full time and benefits are X number of lines per pp.
If you work for someone other than MQ that lets you have this flexibility, PLEASE post the company. I only do this MT part time and need flexibility around my other job. TIA
Watch out. SBC just sent me a letter saying
they were switching me from unlimited LD to 10 cents a minute. So I called and canceled my LD with them. Back to onesuite.com for now.

We finally had enough work this weekend to keep busy, so now they will hire 100 more people to make sure this doesn't continue. No one in their right mind would work there for a full time job. It is fine to work part time to supplement another job, but don't depend on them for anything consistent.

I know there was some trashing of someone who posted on the Company Board about Editor pay cuts, but I know someone who knows an editor, and all the editors except the new ones got at least a 30 percent pay cut. MTs are next, and we are going to have to get by on less.

companies who post using a C-phone, but also have a platform they don't want to tell you about until after you are hired, and their testing is looonnnggg notes that is only in listen mode with the C-phone so you have no backspace control. So many things to waste an MT's time, which we do NOT get paid for.
IMO, I would never work without someone to watch (sm)
my kids (or at least work when they are asleep). I know a few people that do this with small kids, and it is really shocking to me. They leave their kids alone all day to watch t.v. or play alone with toys while they work.
I am not by any means an advocate of daycare (my children have never been), but daycare is a much better option than ignoring your children for hours at a time. I have an 18-month-old and a 3-year-old, and I never work unless they are sleeping or my husband is here to watch them. JMO

Please be careful on here because anyone who says anything bad against Keystrokes will have Jo or KS LEAD or I guess there are a few others, stating things like Wrong! If they are so busy with new accounts, why do they constantly come on here to defend poor Keystrokes that are Meditech lovers. LOL - I just have to laugh.

I asked for acute care and was promised acute care (more $) but what I got was all clinic work, multiple clients, most not even over 1 minute dictations. I was disgusted. They still paid me for the acute care wages, though, because I was good. I left because of lack of work.
If it is Amphion, run.

you just might find another job which you think is better, and guess what, you've made a mistake and want to go back. By then you are stressed out and sorry for second-guessing. Take advice from someone who has been there and done that. Good luck whatever you decide to do, only hoping you save yourself grief. :)

For the past few years and especially now it's been the raining money season in India and the no work/drought season in the US!!! There is NO slow season in this country other than the little bit of time around the winter holidays. In almost 20 years in this business that's the Only time there was a lack of work, certainly not during the spring, summer, or fall! If you believe that nonsense that the work is low due to the season...well, boy do I have an investment deal for you! Buy property in India and work there as an MT..you'll be back on your feet in no time! The other thing taking our jobs from us in the invasion of VR....one by one accounts are disappearing from a typing pool because they're being switched to VR...and try doing some of those VR reports From the MTs in India and the Phillipines....YIKES!!! I was Very lucky to have found a good small company where I just type, no VR, no offshoring at all, and steady work...so I'll hang onto it for as long as it lasts. There are companies out there like mine, you just have to keep looking every day and hopefully you'll get lucky too! It took me over 6 months to find this one.

And you cannot sign out more than once (for break) for your 15 minutes during your shift. You must work every minute during your shift and no break longer than 15 minutes. If not they will come to you and question you why you were not on. You have to have a pretty good answer or you will have to decide if you want the job or not. Regarding cherry picking there can be none, but on the other hand there does not have to be, if you get the ESLs you will get mostly all ESLs and it is your problem not theirs if you don't do ESLs 99% and with appropriate line count. None of this is mis-spoken it is the solid truth.
Watch out, this company is probably up for sale to Transcend.
Usual warning signs - lots of mls, low work.
Watch out for companies that do the tiered thing-
Only they called it leveling. They leveled everyone the same, whether you had 2 months or 20 years of experience, everyone got the same lousy pay.

I found Medrite to be slow -- would type and watch it try to catch up with me. sm
I went from 250-300 lph to 180-200 lph with it. Plus it has this spy stuff (I called it), where if you are gone longer than such amount of time, when you come back, you have to say why you were gone (it has things to choose from). I didn't care for it, but obviously some must.

Watch your paycheck go down. Transcend does not pay the same line counts that MDI-MD paid.

I worked in QA for Transcending back in 2000-2001. They were paying hourly back then. SM
The accounts weren't too horribly bad. The reason I ended up leaving was because slowly but surely they began to inch closer and closer to paying QA by production. When I first started, the quota was something like 30 reports a day. We simply had to make sure that we QA'd all reports that were close to being out of TAT first and then do the rest. Then, my supervisor left and they hired a new one who immediately called a big teleconference meeting and said we had to up production to 60 reports a day. Then, they started counting lines. Which was fine because they were still paying hourly.
Next, there was an MT who used VR software because she was blind - yes blind. Again, when I first started, I was told we had to edit her entire reports because she used the VR software and we had to make sure that everything was correct and made sense. Then, we are told only check the blanks. I wasn't comfortable with that and I continued to completely proof every word. Then I was called on the carpet not because I wasn't meeting the production quota, but because I was ONLY meeting the production quota. I told them I was proofing all of the MT's work that used VR, I was told that no one ever told me to proof every word of the VR reports and that I needed to fill in blanks and move on. When I voiced my concerns, I was told that was my job, to fill in blanks and I should move on and strive to product above the standards. Next thing you know, rumors abounded about changing the QA staff to being paid on production. So I left.
There just seemed to me to be too little concern for quality and more emphasis on quantity and I just didn't want to be part of company who would take money out of my pocket just to line their own and that's what they were doing by putting QA on production. I also am not comfortable with the job of QA being thought of as a blank filler. There is much more to the QA profession than just simply filling in blanks.
I don't know if Transcend ever did start paying QA by production, but I could see that the idea was being floated there. Maybe there was a enough protest that they didn't change from hourly.

I applied a month or two ago, received an email from someone asking if I would take a test and said she was getting ready to go on vacation for a week, so I hurried and immediately and told her I'd love to take the test. I never heard back. I waiting thinking she went on vacation and would contact me when she got back to do the test but nothing...very strange..Just wondered if this happened to anyone else.

Transcend cares only about the big pay for its managers and corporate people, nothing for its MTs. Pay used to be decent, is less than mediocre for that horrible editing platform we are forced to use. ROMs have nothing to do but yell at the MTs and invent first grade games to play. I would rather have had the $1.48 postage and $1.00 it cost for the mouse pad and strip calendar.
Remember the old days when Edix used to give the Drake and Drake drug book for MT week? That was when Edix was a good company, too.

Is this company on Long Island? I checked out their website and even tried calling once. Were you successful in contacting them? All i know is that the company is owned by some doctors.

but somehow with over 16 years of experience, I blew the test. I was soooo disappoionted and yet pretty stunned. I am by no means perfect but I haven't flunked a test in years. I expected it in my early years but not this far down the road. I was so confident and they will not tell you which part you did not pass and why so it really just blew my mind. I must have been in shock for like two hours after I got the email. Oh well, someone will want me....hopefully. I was thinking about OSi but I don't think I could take another rejection if I never heard back.
I had the same thing happen, went back to MQ, went back to KS and could not be sm
happier. I am on a different account then the first time and it is as if it is a different company. I have a great lead who leaves us alone most of the time but is there when I need her. It showed me that you can have a different experience within the same company.
I have to say that in the few weeks since they have the new office, it is much more organized probably because there are a lot of people there all the time. I had the pleasure of speaking to the new HR manager who was HR at a hospital, got my questions answered about insurance as I am going to full time and had a live voice pick up the phone.
Not all change is bad. This is one company that has changed for the better.
