Go get a shower and wash away your nastiness. I agree with the poster that I see several questions that have at least 60-100 views and not one of those people responded to the person's question. This is an informative site and for that you obviously need people to respond. God forbid no one is paying you -GEEZ - just try to be nice and offer free advice. Try it, you might like it!

No, it definitely wasn't voluntary
The email was very clear that this was an unfortunate but necessary decision for OTI, definitely management's decision, not hers.
And the reason they gave was also very clear (although vague and cryptic at the same time)--so they could move forward and acheive our goals for 2008.
I guess that you would probably have to know this woman personally to realize what a shock this is.
LOLOL
.
there has been an effort to standardize.
and there are fewer regional offices...still a ways from the goal i think. But no matter how similar the offices are, my experience may not be your experience. What is important to me, may mean nothing to you, etc. Still, looking at all the posts, one can pick out constants that may or may not work for them and decide a bit better.
Appreciate the info and effort - sm
I just spoke with them and it is apparently a new outfit, which explains the lack of response here. Seems legit. Yes, I was told IME work, too. javascript:editor_insertHTML('text','');

Then they need to make an effort SM
to go out and recruit SELF-SUFFICIENT MTs who will take the insurance instead of their current tactic, which is courting the MTs who have husbands who provide the benefits for the family.
Joint Effort
Our profession is slowly slipping away into the hands of countries overseas, all for purpose of allowing the MTSOs to increase their profit margins, a profit margin which they do not share with those who ARE the backbone of the company - the MTs. We truly need to compile a list of those companies who do and do not offshore and urge our fellow MTs to work ONLY for those companies who keep the work here at home and boycott those who do not. I am proud to say that I am one of those MTs who works for a company who does not offshore. It may take time, but after a while those who offshore will no longer have the quality of a US MT and they will be affected where it hurts, in their wallet. It's time that we, as American MTs, take a stand against big business who choose to offshore!
Might be a waste of effort....
There's not enough work for the MTs already working for them.
OSI's new suggestion box LOLOL
OSI never has listened to what MT's said and won't start now. They are old school their way or no way with awfully unqualified people who make all their crazy rules. I have no faith in OSI at all and am so happy to have 4 different job offers that I will make a decision on this week.
There ya GO!!! LOLOL thanks for the laugh NM

LOLOL sure after you edited it . .
That may be what it looks like now that you've edited and posted here, but below is what the many of us received, and we got a good chuckle.

LOLOL--business owner
Like I said, you must be her kid. And just for the record, I was not interviewing for the job! You don't listen. I am a business owner. So I don't need to be hired, nor am I 13. I am an honest business for 20 years trying to help MTs make a decision. If you don't take the warning, that is your choice.
LOLOLOLOL! Yep, that IS the turth! LOLOL

PRECYSE - WORTH THE EFFORT TO LEARN??
I was recently hired by Precyse for a clinical account which now actually turns out to be ALL HOSPITAL work which I have never done. I am struggling with op notes, discharge summaries, hospital consultations, you name it, I get it. My question is this: being strictly a clinical Transcriptionist and never having done ANY acute care or hospital dictation of any kind, could some of you girls who do acute care and hospital work tell me if it is going to take me forever to learn this? Should I stick it out and try or look elsewhere for clinical work? I have to admit, it has been pretty tough so far and I really do not care for the work, but I'm curious as to what the time for the learning curve is. I would appreciate any info anyone could give me as I need to make a decision about what to do soon. Thanks so much!!
Precyse-Worth the effort to learn
I have found Precyse to be a wonderful company to work for. I have worked for one of the biggest and have found PS to be one of the best out there. After hearing nightmares about what MTs are going through in other companies, I think PS has done something right!
LOLOL! I don't think we will ever run out of work. They have added three huge
accounts this month alone and I know that there are two scheduled for next month and two the month after. They are growing like crazy and I cannot believe we will ever be slow.
Scribbles, thanks for rising up from our ranks and making a serious effort to make ... sm
the idea of a union for us a reality. Greedy and unethical service owners/senior management have really turned this profession to the dogs over the last 20+ years or so, and if we don't finally say enough and start speaking up for ourselves it's only going to get worse. (I also have to make an aside and say to the MTSO's out there who actually UNDERSTAND this profession, have EXPERIENCE in it, and are SENSITIVE to the needs and challenges that MT's face, thank you so much for your integrity. We appreciate you.)
I'll be following the board closely to read of your updates, Scribbles.
Total, utter and complete waste of time, effort,
The *CMT* so-called credential is nothing but a scam. THEY get rich, and you DON'T.
Uncle, Uncle!!!! LOLOL!! sm
I just said nurses wages are not going down, is that not true? Have I been misinformed? I never EVER did or would dismiss the valuable service of nurses and I am sorry you read that into what I said, though I am not sure how! At any rate, life is too short to worry about chat board talk and, despite what others have posted, I only meant to point out that the field is changing as far as pay and benefits and it would be nice to have some compassion for our brother and sister MTs who have not had an easy road. Now having said that, I am done and hopefully everyone else is too. Isn't it funny how people who are so happy can just attack one poster like that. You have to laugh!
