VR is not rocket science - if you MT, you can do it - sm

In Reply to: TransTech VR - anyone take the mttest speech - recognition test when you applied at TT?
The problem with VR is that editing is a different animal than transcribing. You used different brain tools to do it. Sometimes it takes longer to edit than to transcribe but we are being paid half of what it pays to transcribe. That is the beef with VR.

Exactly. It's not rocket science (sm)
I think most unhappy posters would rather they start a new acct and then say, Gee, I think we need more people. Use heads, please. New accts coming.
It's not rocket science - you need specific hours = hire an employee (sm)
You need a specific TAT but not specific hours = hire an IC. The IRS, each state's Workers' Comp laws and so forth make it VERY clear about what determines an IC and what determines an employee. If a company needs someone from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Mon-Fri, then that is a part-time employee, and in some states automatically a benefited employee.
For example, if you need a housekeeper or nanny for specific hours, that person becomes an employee. I vaguely remember a politician getting in trouble for this a few years back - not paying taxes, etc. for a nanny, by calling her an IC when in fact she was an employee.
Science...MTness
I looked it up last night after I got that message off here. I would be very interested in reading some of the info/books. Glad you introduced me to it.
Yes, Rocket, indeed we own a construction company. sm
Our employees get raises even when we invest in power tools and pickup trucks. I can even cipher those fancy reports the government requires every quarter.
I have worked in banking, insurance, emergency medicine, and marketing. I have 2 magna cum laude degrees, and I have even been a M-A-N-A-G-E-R.
Wouldn't pee myself to meet another executive, and I treat my employees like they MATTER.
I'm being trained for QA, and the guy taking me through the training acts like it's rocket sci
I think he's making it out to be harder than it really is. Glad to hear so many actually find it easy.
