Did Keystrokes sell to Transcend? I thought Keystrokes was buying up companies sm
but I heard from another service owner that they sold out to Transcend. Anyone know if that happened?
Did Keystrokes sell to Transcend? I thought Keystrokes was buying sm

small companies but another service owner told me that she heard that Keystrokes sold to Transcend.  Is this true?

I posted this down below but meant to post it as a new thread.  Before I apply with them, I would like to know as I left Transcend a few months ago and do NOT want to get back into that mess.

? about Keystrokes..Did Lee really sell? nm
xxxxxx
No, Keystrokes did not sell to Transcend.
Not sure how all these rumors get out. Ridiculous
Hope this doesn't upset you....

But, try to look at it this way.  You are in a healthcare profession, part of the team that takes care of that patient, even though not IN the hospital.  That means nights, weekends, holidays, etc., someone from the healthcare team has to be available for transcription.

I don't know anything specifically about this company, but from a manager's standpoint, I just wanted you to realize WHY some companies are specifically looking for nights, weekends, and holiday help.  It's tough--everyone wants to be off on weekends, be off on holidays, etc., but the reality is that MT just like nurses, doctors, and other allied health professionals are needed when the patient is an inpatient.  :(

I'm in CA, too...I hope it doesn't fall off, LOL (sm)
Hey fatcat...My primary is very high ESL as well, but it's one of the Lanier accounts. Apparently, the account is phasing out the Lanier system and going to Inova, which is an Escription platform. Perhaps your account just isn't going to affected by it.

If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email. In the meantime, I'm gonna get some coffee and check to see if my lifeboat is ready to go in case CA does break off into the water, lol!!!
Not only that, but I would MUCH rather work for Keystrokes than Spheris as Keystrokes doesn't

I hope DSG doesn't make the change
x
True! I just hope the wrong person doesn't
get banned in error.
I'm so sorry to hear this. It doesn't sound good. I hope you

InterPro Medical...Hope this doesn't appear to be selling soul to devil.... but
I am seriously considering working for InterPro (a company owned by India that outsources).  Never thought I would, but I see they have BCBS insurance which starts in 30 days of employment, and other good benefits.   I am a diabetic with hypertension and paying almost $400.00 a month for Cobra health insurance, which will expire soon, thus will be left uninsured.  I've tried getting individual insurance, but no one will ensure because of my health problems.   Can anyone give me some specs on InterPro, i.e. current employees, etc.., or any other companies where insurance goes in effect 30 days of employment.

I hope they do not end up 'acquring' Keystrokes.

I hope they do not end up 'acquring' Keystrokes.

Furthermore, why doesn't Keystrokes get an 800
many people are having trouble with getting long distance carriers without paying more for a business account, when in fact you all are employees.  You all ought to come together on this one and approach the higher ups at Keystrokes.  JMO.
Keystrokes doesn't.

Try Keystrokes out of Bolingbrook, Illinois. Hope this helps!
xx
I honestly hope you will have a good experience with Keystrokes

I'm sure that not all the supervisors were as hyper as the one I had - she drove me crazy, wanting me to work practically 24/7. The last couple of months I was there, during a 63-day period, I only had 3 real days off where I didn't work at least a couple of hours which ended up turning into five or six. Add that to working 10-12 hours during my 8-hour work days, and I just plain got burnt out.

But that was only one particular client (if you would like the name, please email me). I am sure there were other clients that she could have given me, but she kept assuring me that this was the best client she had.

So I would just say make sure your lead is 1) looking out foryou and 2) telling you the truth (the third time I caught mine in a lie, I quit).

Good luck!

Keystrokes definitely doesn't outsource at all
They are very much against it. Love it there!
Again: Nowadays this is done ONLINE...sm
What is going on on this boards?

Is this some kind of advertising campaign to buy

BOOKS

for doing MTing?

MTs are pressured to use hot keys (shortcuts) instead of the mouse ,, and not to take one's fingers off the keyboard, especialy when doing VR.

Why should I go and look into my books, wasting all that time?

Nowadays you can put ALL management
.
keystrokes vs. lines doesn't really matter
If they stick to a standard 65 character line and include each keystroke as part of a line it won't make a difference. I made a mere 7.5 per line at a previous job (counted headers and footers) and made much better money because I was put on good accounts and kept on them. I've read some companies do not pay for spaces. My thoughts on that is fine, Iwouldn'ttypethem.

If it's not a trick line then counting by lines is okay.
Doesn't Keystrokes have strictly OP accounts?
I thought they posted not too very long ago for a position that was strictly ops. I don't work there so I don't know first-hand, just sorta recall seeing it on the job seeker's board.

Good luck with that search :-)

There are no guarantees with any job. You might have
low ESLs, but you might get all of their dictation, there may be really sucky American dictators, you don't like the platform, you don't like management, etc.  You can research to the nth degree and you think you know what you are expecting and it isn't that way at all.  I've BTDT before coming to Axolotl.  You just take your chances and hope for the best.
They may require that you don't have dial up nowadays.
At one point my PS said high-speed was required. I had worked there for 3 years already, though, and told her there was no way I was paying $800 to get high-speed (especially since that's when they quite reimbursing us for internet). So, I assumed I got to keep dial up because I was grandfathered in and that new hires had to have high-speed internet of some form.

I could be wrong though...I won't guarantee any of the info previous PSs have given is right:-)
In ANY business, there are no guarantees. No
x
Maybe Keystrokes doesn't want to be an average firm. I am happy there and find sm
that their minimums are fair. QA standards are very high, which makes me proud to be part of a company that cares about quality. Quantity standards are also high, but so is my paycheck.
Amphion guarantees it for 30 days. NM
NM
No company makes guarantees of course sm

but if you have been there over a year you can take FMLA and the policy says **usually** will be returned to former position.  I can bet it would not be the same accounts unless they had vacancies on your old accounts.

I think what it boils down to is if they need people at the time you are ready to come back, they'll take you back, but there is always the possibility they might not.

Agree. It' hard to use that as a rule-out factor nowadays.

Amphion guarantees $10 hour for 3 MONTHS

What do you mean? Who is PSI? Did OSI sell or something? nm
x
And I will sell it to ya, too. lol
p
Didn't YOG sell out to MQ?

x

yes. you should be very scared if they did sell.
SPI is a bunch of crooks.
However, if you are willing to sell yourself cheap,
x
So you;re willing to sell America out
because there's always work---(for now)?
I don't sell America out
I work only for companies that do not offshore, period.
sell not sale
just before someone jumps on that one
Fatcat - I know exactly what you mean. She does have the right to sell

her company, and if she had been honest and up front and just TOLD us, hey, I need to go in a different direction, I want less stress/work, whatever, so I'm looking to sell the company, I'd have been fine with that.  If she'd been honest and said I'm in negotiations and some of your work is being funneled into the new company so they can test the accounts or whatever, I'd have been most unhappy, but at least informed and looking for a new job.  It's the fact that they've boasted for years we're the cream of the crop and then gave us the mushroom treatment, and treated us all like we're stupid sheep that will just trot along with Transcend and take whatever they decide to offer us.  I can't believe for one minute that they had any of the MTs in mind if they didn't even bother to ask what the pay scale would be, the scheduling requirements, or even the LINE DEFINITION.  Carlotta flat out said in my call yesterdya that she hadn't even THOUGHT TO ASK what kind of a line they pay on.  For all they know we'll be getting huge pay cuts along with say losing all our spaces or whatever.  The fact that she said they never thought to ask and they knew absolutely zero answers to EVERYTHING that directly affects the MTs told me that they either knew and were NOT about to tell us and make us madder, or they never bothered to ask because they absoultely had no interest in it.  If they'd been honest and told us what was going on, I could handle this much better.  It's the sneaky underhanded way they did it, after years of touting their open communication, etc., that really bothers me.  And the offshoring is just the icing on the cake of the giant slap in the face.  Talk about stepping on the backs of the people who put her at the top.

Just because companies don't know how to sell a contract,
they shouldn't pass their shortcomings on to us. This is part and parcel of what is killing our profession. Companies keep low-balling contracts and we all will lose. Very sad.
eBay intrigues me, but I have nothing to sell! (nm)
.
SELL on Ebay and start over
By the way, even if KS is responsible for giving you bad information about Vista, you still would have had to get a computer to do this work. So that investment is a given.

Save yourself more headaches: Sell your computer on ebay (keep the peripherals) and buy a new computer with XP. You are likely to lose $ but you will probably lose more trying to replace Vista with XP UNLESS you call in a professional to do it for you who guarantees their work.

If you believe the answers below, I have a bridge to sell you.
VR produces a big mess & it takes a lot of time to correct it all. I'd hate to see an audit on those flying through it at full speed, and I'd hate to be the patient depending on a quality report.
They may initially find a way to sell us down.....sm
the river BUT the real issue is that MTSOs jump on any and every chance they can to cheat the MT. It IS, after all, all about $$$ and whose pocket they are in!
Doesn't apply if your OSI account doesn't use Ichart.
It is the Ichart only for OSi where you are cheated.
Agree. Got any swamp land to sell her? nm
x
Yup, change to create a need to sell more books.
That's what I said the first time I heard examples of the new edition's changes. With the logic this one uses, I expect the next edition will decide that a lot should now be one word, and no one should be spelled as one word as well, because it is now so common for people to spell them that way. Oy.

I was just thinking of that -- Carole swore she'd never sell, right up until the day she sm

announced it was sold.  I do not blame her for selling, and I guess there were legal issues that made it necessary for her to lie, but it does leave you with a mistrust for what people say.  At least we still had jobs, although I quit the minute I heard The Squid had bought the company.

I wish the QTers the best of luck.  There are still lots of great companies out there.

Not much left to sell since they lost big account.nm

I don't sell myself short but don't have 5 "current" years
