CONGRATULATIONS MTSO MANAGEMENT!
Due to your foresight into enhancing the productivity of your valued medical transcriptionists by allowing them to double their lines per hour and cutting their pay in half, you have managed to succesfully eliminate the need for half of your workforce.
Since your job is so streamlined now, and you don't have as much to do, we are cutting your pay in half. Thank you for being a team player. As you can imagine, this will allow us the profitability to keep our company strong and growing. RAH, RAH.
As a special bonus, we are offering a 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Thursday through Sunday IC special shift for our management team. Thank you for being a team player. This will completely eliminate your benefits but give you the flexibilty to work Thursday through Sunday, usually when those pesky MTs want to be off.
Since this will further reduce your workload, we will be cutting your wage by half again. This super-streamlined workload will give you time to study and expand your horizons. Thank you for being a team player. We recommend ESL 101, Cough, Yawn, and Grunt 204, Advanced Physician Spelling 305, Whatthehellishesaying 410, and the graduate level Food Stamps and You 599.
As we realize pressures from our global marketplace might trending your wages down slightly - people in India are every bit the managers YOU are - we would recommend you supplement your income by doing medical transcription. Thank you for being a team player. This opportunity allows you to make 3 cents per line, and Newbies are busting out at over $4.50 an hour in this lucrative field.
We realize that many of you may not know how to produce a medical document; however, we have this fantastic platform that virtually eliminates any thought process needed. It records everything the doctor says, even if it is wrong, and even if it is his personal and inappropriate discussion with someone else. Thank you for being a team player. It is very easy to learn, and we have a multitude of experienced transcriptionists who would be happy to tutor you for $250 to $300 per hour. Think of it as an investment in your future.
AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR BEING A TEAM PLAYER. YOU ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THIS TEAM! RAH, RAH.
and allowing you to seek employment in the transcription department. Since we know most of you know nothing about transcription, we have available hundreds of experienced medical language specialists who will gladly tutor you

so typical
I wasnt fired, I left. I did what I said, worked my shift if there was work. I have always had good quality. Keystrokes let me down in every way you could imagine. I was lied to, left with no work most of the time, not given the pay they said they hired me in at on some of my checks, my pay rate as well as all other MTs was then demoted due to company problems. I had bad checks written to me and had a hard time getting that fixed. Not every MT was a bad MT that left Keystrokes. Some of us are telling the truth and have every right to say what we post here.
Typical and not likely to get better.

typical
I have not heard this yet, but it is typical of the Flannery's to not share anything they absolutely don't have to until the last minute, keeping everyone in the dark, even eliminating positions without notice via e-mail. This is nothing new for them.
Okay, here is a typical day for me....
Up at 7 a.m., out walking by 7:30 a.m. for an hour, I do a rowing machine for 20 minutes and then 200 steps on a stepping machine and 3 days a week I do another 20 minutes on a treadmill, and another 3 days a week I lift weights. I eat 1500 to 1800 calories a day and I am still over 100 pounds overweight. I eat no candy, no sweets, no chips, no fast food. My thyroid is fine. So now what MISS KNOW IT ALL????? I work my butt off and I still have a huge butt, dang, I guess I am still fat by choice. Oh, and I have done this workout for 8 months now and I have lost a total of 7 pounds. So, once again, KISS MY -SS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, that is not typical. Something is very wrong.
xx
You know that is a typical response if you have
a negative comment - maybe the issue is you and you just can't cut it. I was a great employee, it just wasn't the company for me.
Are you a typical TT MT, with that mouth???
x
This sounds like typical DSG to me...
I have been gone almost 2 years and nothing has changed...I would say move on...
That pay is not typical. They are not hiring SM
for the higher level accounts that pay well. They are hiring new people at very low rate of pay. Then you are supposed to work your way up. Actually, my sound quality is pretty good. Still don't recommend because most work goes to India.
It's the typical rate

Typical Ignorance
You have to excuse people like that. The region of the country has nothing to do with crappy MT companies. Wonder why they apply for companies in the south, when it's easy to look up the company and see where they are located before applying? Perhaps they can't read, or maybe they lost their religion.
Typical mentality: TAKE, TAKE, TAKE ..nm
when docs give mtso a check, then mtso pays you?
nm
Typical bait and switch
They are nice in the beginning, then you get lost in their shuffle. You get mass e-mails that maybe do not even apply to accounts you work on - to the tune of sometimes a half dozen or so per day - that you are told to read NOW, before you start typing. Trying to get an answer to a specific question is like trying to reach the president himself. They tell you the accounts are good, then you get put on pure garbage accounts where you will struggle to make your line counts.
The thing is, a few years ago when I began with them they were great. It seems as they have expanded, chaos has taken over. I am currently looking elsewhere. Others have already left. Notice how they are always hiring now?!
There are better, there are worse. They are a typical national, and yes you have to pay for the com

She may not be lying - but it is not typical or usual. nm

A typical 'management' view of MTs. So sad. -nm
Sounds like typical tech
I was warned not to let Lexmark or Windows IT people get into my computer if I ever had to call for tech support - sounds like this guys is the same way. I hate techs who THINK they know what they are doing and just royally screw up your system. They are trained that your system should look a certain way and if it doesn't the first step is to FIX it - problem is fixing it usually screws up your programs. They are setup up that way for a reason!!
Anyway, my time at Landmark did not require logging into anything so that is probably why my time was so pleasant. I'm sorry they can't get their act together on this! It probably is the hospital and the tech person is desperately working with theirs to get it all fixed - but if communication is really that bad I can imagine what THAT must be like.
Sorry it didn't work out, I know you were looking forward to working with them!!
Right it's a typical office job sounds like.
You could always moonlight for acute care and make money to supplement. That's what I did for 17 years at a 13 dollar an hour job until they outsourced without warning. Just know that could happen to you at this new position (the work is there one day and gone the next and you are training your replacement), and you'll be fine. Good luck!
That is not surprising. Typical for how she treats people.

Thats typical for rad report which are short. Have heard
fsd
Don't know, but similar to typical and very easy to learn. NM

You're right. You have no idea what I'm talking about. Typical. nm
djf;lkj;
Seriously, dont let them bother you.. This behavior is typical.
It is normal for some people here to react this way. It would probably be beneficial for THEM to get out of the house to remember how civilized people converse.
Typical holiday at Transcend - no work!
They musta sent all my stuff over to India so they can all get new saris for their next holiday. Meantime, there goes my lunch for 3 weeks. Ya happy now Transcend management? You have managed to put us all in the poor house. Hope your summer cottages burn and your boats sink.
Is it typical for decreased pay for not meeting line requirements? sm
I know every company is different but has anyone had their pay rate decreased for failure to meet line requirements? I have heard of taking away benefits, etc. before but never heard of decreased pay rates for IC because of this nor have I ever heard of the pay rate being different for full time versus part timers within the same company. I have health issues causing my lack of meeting line requirements. It isn't because I just don't want to work. I guess this is just another tactic to take money out of our pockets and into theirs like the pay rate isn't low enough already. Geez by the time I cover my expenses as an IC, I doubt I come out with anything anyway. I might as well just work for free for the government to donate all my money overseas!
Has anyone ever figured out how much difference is needed in pay between IC and employee to cover average expenses related to the job? I know standard is 1 cent usually and that does not cover my expenses.
Webmedx work pretty low. Typical for this time of year? sm
I'm fairly new, so just wondering. Having come from the evil Q, it makes me nervous. While at the Q and a couple other companies, this is not the time of year I typically ran out of work--Christmas, T-giving, 4th of July, yes, now, no. Thanks.
Typical year round. They overhire. I left due to lack of
work. About 6 other MTs left when I did, that I am aware of, due to lack of work. There are accounts with a lot of work and frequent OT, but I was told they couldn't be worked on as a secondary account. Made no sense at all to me.
So you work for free? Typical male response, jerk.
nm
"becausse" is high standards? nice. typical of the caliber of MTs they have.
xx
Isn't she an MTSO owner - which MTSO ? Just curious. n/mnn
nnnn
Concerned about the low work at WebMedx over the past few weeks. Typical for this time of year?
I've not been through a summer with them before. My main account, which always had plenty of work and occasional overtime, has been low for well over a month now. I have 2 backup accounts that are low as well. In fact, all my STM's accounts are very low volume. In all the years I've transcribed, I've never had this problem in August. It worries me more perhaps since I'm ex-MQ and consistent low work was a signal of a major downhill turn for that company. Thanks.
Hello Management
Give me a break! You are a supervisor, and I know who you are. Spare us this bologna.
SB
If only more management could be like you!
I'd buy you a drink as well! Thank you for the kind words.
Management again??!!!
kidding. "Excellent program", is that why everyone is leaving OSi, because it is so good??!!!
Management...don't you have anything to do?
If TT is growing by leaps and bounds, how do you have the time to get on here and contradict the truth? You don't like negatives about your company, but you're not perfect either.
I am not management -- I don't even
work for them anymore! You can state your opinion, but you are giving inaccurate information about things such as benefits and whether or not you can use ShortHand. Obviously I wasn't all that thrilled with them either or I would still be there.
lol, I have been an MT for 20+ yrs and many of them in management.
x
I don't know when the management...SM
was ever great, it was bad 4 years ago when I was there and from your description things haven't changed a bit since then. A bunch of office people with titles, the MTs typing all the work are ignored, avoided and treated badly. We used to call the office in Pittsburgh a kingdom because it was filled with people who never worked past 4:00 in the afternoon, 2:00 on Fridays...never to be heard from until Monday around 9:00 AM.
Not management
I never said I agreed with them docking your pay for errors. BUT, I did say that they only do it if you fall below 98%. Isn't this the norm? Keeping an accuracy rate of 98% or better? So why would you worry about being docked if you maintain 98% or better? They are like any other MT companies, they want quality reports.
Not Management
potatoMT RIGHT ON
NOT management and sorry you could not cut it. nm
x
Definitely has to be management ..SS
AMEN !!!
I am definitely NOT their management.......
or anyone else's for that matter. I am just a lowly pee-on MT with 6 years experience trying to make an honest living, and get nothing but lies from this company. I am looking for other work, just like the others who have emailed me privately, who also work for them now and are in the same predicament that I am in. Work flow lying is the main problem with this company. They say there is none, but, in fact, there is. They just turn you off. When there is work, why not give it to us??? This question has been asked by us more than once. Lots more companies out there, so we will just keep looking.
Why don't you take this up with management. (sm)
As far as bonuses being offered unnecessarily on weekends, I think they like to be caught up as best they can on Mon morning, unlike a lot of services who get behind on the weekends. I don't think it really has anything to do wtih overstaffing. JMO. I thought there is extra pay for Sat or Sunday anyway, isn't there?
Must be management. They are NOT one of the
best companies, the absolute worst one I have ever had contact with and if you look through the archives there are many, many more who agree with me.
I am not management.
I am a very hard-working, high-producing MT who has as much to lose as the next MT. I, however, am choosing to keep an open mind and know that my work speaks for itself and decided that this new opportunity for me sounds like a good one. More work, job opportunities, and help in becoming an even better producer sounds good to me; guess not to every MT though.
I'm not Management... (sm)
What, you think I'm a *plant* because I'm seeing it half-full instead of half-empty? LOL If you'll go back and read a couple of my earlier posts regarding this whole thing, you'll notice that I worked for MQ (until they were bought out by furrinners) and I've been around for 16 years as an MT - IC, SE, employee -- but never as Management.
All I'm doing is repeating (again) what was explained to the DRC employees in the web conference and what has already been posted here to be read by anyone: If the client requires USA-based MTs, that's the DRC side. Yes, they'll charge more for the USA-based MTs (who will be paid more than the Indian MTs) and it would therefore be in Acusis' best interest to have as many USA-requiring clients as possible. Yes?
(Unless, of course, you're going along with the suspicion that the Indian MTs will be passed off as USA MTs and the clients won't know the difference.) (And man's first steps on the moon were filmed on a Hollywood sound stage made to look like green cheese...)
NOT MANAGEMENT
But I love working for Transcend, what is wrong with someone saying that? They are flexible and do pay very well.
