Sage Street Staffing - South Florida transcriptionists
I have been trying to respond to people from south Florida who applied with Sage Street Staffing for traveling transcription.
The emails are kicking back as undeliverable. I have tried from multiple email addresses, and they are all kicking back as undeliverable.
If you sent a resume from the email address *********** please send an alternate email address so that I may respond.
thank you
sage advice, sirpercy

putting aside the other's sage advice based on
their own personal experiences and putting aside George's opinion that we are all misinformed, you need to take care of yourself. I couldn't go 2 days without the company I commit my time to not sending work to me, much less one month! How would I explain that to the mortgage company? Yeah, I was just going to go ahead and wait it out. Say, could you just not expect a payment from me until I hear from Sten-Tel? Okie Dokie then! Great!
All kidding aside, take care of yourself. If they don't care about you or even taking care of their own business, it is the wrong place for you. You're in this to make money, right? I don't know if you are a newbie or experienced but if you want to earn money, there are other places to go.
Over-staffing....
Has it ever occurred to any seasoned/dedicated Transcriptionist that over-staffing is really a non-entity, due specifically to other MTs not doing their job? I used to be angry when workload was low and think over-staffing, but now I am having to step foot in the company's shoes and realize that this is due to them having slackers! They do have a commitment to their clients....we all have to realize this...but in order to keep the slacker employees, they just hire a few extra for the account...I don't know, I am pretty hiped up about speech recognition jamming my lines too....
Staffing for Focus
AccuStat Carolinas assists Focus Infomatics for staffing for US MTs for their accounts when they need help. Focus has offshore on their own. I am a US MT and work with AccuStat on a Focus account and all is great!!!
They have a new account they are staffing

24/7, Yes; Full Staffing, No.
I started my long-lived career in-house, initially as an LPN and then shifting to transcription. As a nurse, we did not work every weekend. We had a rotation schedule that provided adequate coverage and no one, except those that wanted to, was stuck working every weekend.
When I shifted to transcription in the same hospital, no one except the willing had to work every weekend (weekend coverage was the primary reason the hospital hired part-time). It was set up so that each Transcriptionist worked one weekend every 6 weeks. Despite the fact that it is open 24/7, not all departments are open 24/7. ORs are typically closed except for emergencies, ditto with radiology, clinical services, and the sundry labs (CV, EEG, etc.). There was no need for a full compliment of transcriptionists then, and forced weekend work is just MTSOs creating a need rather than fulfilling one.
Most of us do this job because of the convenience, and we do appreciate that. However, because of the new rules requiring weekends and 16 hours a day (including weekends) sitting at our desks to snag each report as it rolls in to make the same wage we were getting 20 years ago, it's losing a lot of that, and those that are willing to just shrug it off are part of the reason it has gotten so bad. And, since you don't walk in my shoes, don't tell us to get a new job. With the responsibilities some of us have added to the crapper today's economy is in, doing so is not quite the snap your rose-colored glasses tell you it is.
K-Force Staffing.......PSM
Hi! Any new reports on K-Force staffing. I am currently working and reasonably happy, but I received a call out of the blue on an old resume that was banked on Yahoo, and a lady called me, very interested, just the right candidate for immediate full-time radiology position, the whole 9 yards. BUT I have read several older posts from 2005-6 where there were negative things said. Anyone currently working for this company, what is the scoop, I would really, really appreciate it so very much, don't need to make a bad move at this stage of the game!!!!
If you email me, I will help. I am helping with staffing a few of the sm
new accounts. Are you clinic or HIM or rad? There are at least 2 new accounts of each.
I'm not management - major staffing changes and
growth just in the last week alone - all for the better. Just be patient and it'll be worth your while. You won't be disappointed. I'd give it another day or two and call them just to follow up.
Keystrokes is the best so far in my long and varied career!
less staffing all around the hospitals is the norm...
i have siblings in nursing and radiology departments and it's cut, cut, cut = dangerous patient care.
Landmark staffing? Not an MT company. nm

traveling MT
Anyone know of a company that hires MTs to travel around the country to transcribe? Thought I heard of one a year or so ago....just sounds interesting and something I might like to try.
traveling
I would be interested in hearing how you did that since that's something my hubby has wanted to do for years (and I said it couldn't be done).
traveling as an MT
Interested in information regarding taking your job on the road with you. Anyone with experience in this? Hubby wants to retire next year, buy an RV, and hit the open road. Can this be done? I work for one of the nationals, and I'd like to get my ducks in a row before I start packing my bags!
Traveling MT
Yes it can be done. You can either use a wireless "stick" that can be installed for use with your laptop or regular computer or you can use a cellphone with wireless internet service. I used wireless internet, via cellphone, while visiting Europe (yep, working as an MT) - expensive and certainly not DSL/cable, but it worked. Enjoy yourself!
traveling mt's
Please fill me in on any info you get regarding traveling mt's since I am also interested and my kids are grown. I have 15 years experience doing med. trans.
Are there any other travel companies out there??? DJ
Traveling MT? Anybody know anything about this. NM

Traveling through.....
You hit the nail on the head. I am amazed at what MTs are putting up with these days. Just wanted to get some opinions. The company doesn't start with a D and is not in PA. Thanks everyone for your input.
WE CAN ALWAYS DO A BIT OF TRAVELING ..SM
to earn some money, WHERE?? Why, it's off to VEGAS, BABY !!
TAT and staffing practices (do they overhire to make TAT?) Also...
is the work routed to you or is it first in/first out. You should be able to plug in and have at it, as much of it as you can do at your own pace, and whatever doctor (ESL or not) comes up, rather than have someone select for you and decide when your 'Q' will run out. Those practices will hold you back from making and working at your full potential.
If you would like to work if ever traveling, go for

Traveling Transcriptionists?
Thought this sounded interesting to somebody. A place called KForce evidently has job openings for transcriptionists. Hope the link works:

I love the part where he says we have inadequate staffing in this country!
That makes me so mad - how many of us are sitting here waiting on work every day and he says we have inadequate staffing? That is BU!!$HIT!
Our only hope lies in the facilities staffing MTs direct. SM
Win/win. They save a ton even if they pay us more per line which in turn puts us back in the bladk. We get affordable health coverage and labor laws.
SIMPLE AS THAT
There are also traveling claims examiners. (sm)
While I never experienced anything like Kforce, I did experience my share of changes working for several temp agencies that hired medical claims processors that travel. The pay was always on time, they paid for the hotel and the rental car, gave us a weekly "per diem" allowance each week for meals, gas, etc. BUT, some of the people they hired on these assignments would send chills down your spine. You had people using the rental cars to transport drugs, using gas money to buy crack, fighting in the hotels, setting the apartments on fire accidentally, arguing with roommates over who would do the dishes, sexually harassing coworkers on the same assignments, the list is endless. Not only that, but after awhile, as a traveler, you get tired of living out of a suitcase and rushing to catch flights and running through airports like O.J. Simpson in a Hertz rental car commercial. For all of those reasons, I decided to come in off the road and work at home. Also, there was one agency that didn't pay for the hotel or the rental car. The manager told us that sometimes we'd have to "whip out that credit card!" and pay for everything, and they would reimburse us. I didn't do it, and they ended up paying for my hotel and car, but I worked with some coworkers that were owed $10,000 in hotel and car expenses, and were still waiting to be reimbursed because the manager said he had he had the receipts in his suitcase. Some travelers had maxed out their credit cards paying for hotel and car expenses. So, bottom line is, travelers go through a lot, and it's not as glamourous as it sounds (not by a long shot).
Internet access while traveling
Just to add to the information regarding wireless Internet capabilities at several different hotels, it might benefit you to also check out places such as Panera Bread stores. They are located throughout the country and many of their stores also offer WI-FI free of charge. Also, you may want to consider going online and checking out WI-FI Hotspots. Amazing what kinds of places have wireless these days! (If you're an RV'er, you've really got it made!) Good luck!
Traveling medical transcriptionist
What companies hire for traveling medical transciptionist? I am interested in a position like this. If any information, please advise.
Webmedx--laptop? traveling
Anybody here use a laptop with Webmedx and travel? I'd love to be able to get away from home but not take time off work. I guess I could haul the PC around, but that wouldn't be as easy as a laptop.
thanks!
K-force. They hire traveling MTs. www.kforce.com I think. nm

Anyone work for a company that they can use a laptop for and do while traveling..
With school soon out, we plan on doing traveling, but my currently job's platform/foot pedal is not compatible with my computer as it uses either a 15-pin or a USB and my current job requires a 9-pin foot pedal thus I can only use it at home and wouldnt be able to work while we travel. Does any know of any companies with a platform and/or foot pedal setup that allows for this. Thanks in advance
Does anyone remember the post about traveling transcription
I see where the position was filled, but I cannot find the original posting for it, and I would be interested in at least sending a resume for future travel assignments. Does anyone happen to remember it or who it was for??
