I think Transcend pays hourly for training for
But, I think the training is Monday through Thursday and I think you do 10 reports a day. This is how it was last year, but I'm not sure about now.
Spheris pays for training. It used to be pretty good. Don't know what
xx
Anyone know what TransTech pays?
I saw their ad, but they don't having anything about starting cpl rate. I have been a MT for 10+ years and don't want to waste my time testing with this company if they don't pay well. Thanks!
Yes, TransTech does pay for speech training...
Eight hours pay
It's TransHealth that pays that way, NOT TransTech.
Anyone know if Transtech pays for spaces?
Thanks in advance!
TransTech pays every two weeks.
x
Transtech pays as much as Transcend
.
TransTech pays 4 and 4.5 for VR... She said she just left
a place that paid that.... Could it be one in the same?
Probably would be better for her to just straight type. That is what I have to do also. HATE VR....
That is good $$ but Transtech pays a lot

TransTech Pays for Internet does Transcend?
I just read that they reimburse for internet, does Transcend do this too?
Does anyone know what Transtech pays for its Escription accounts?
I'd be willing to work weekends if the price was right. I've just seen too many Escription accounts pay too low, which to me, is 3 cpl and lower..One company actually offered 1.5 cpl. No thanks.
Transtech pays for all the headings in the report template, such as those in your example, and they
all the demographic stuff that is inserted into the header and/or footer of your report. A heading and not the same thing as a header. The only thing on a report that you are not paid for is the hard-coded header and/or footer at the top and bottom of the document that has the facility name and the spot for the patient information to be inserted.
Of course TransTech pays for spaces and they have a easy to get bonus structure.
I make as much as I did at the hospital, because of the bonus structure, retroactive to line 1. They pay for spaces and expanders, and they have ops normals too. Just wanted to put an FYI so people think TT does not pay for spaces, of course they do. You can make a lot per line with the structure and also differential and bonuses almost every weekend at TT.
TransTech pays early too, Payday is Monday but I get my direct deposit
late Friday night or Saturday.
If emails saying, "You guys make Transtech rock" pays your bills, let me know, because
I have figured out a way to pay my bills with such **old, wornout** words.
Management is rocking alright, because their paychecks are not affected at all with the NO WORK/LOW WORK situation that has been going on now for MONTHS and MONTHS. That seems so unfair when without the MT's, the mgmt would have no paychecks!!!!!

Management is rocking alright, because their paychecks are not affected at all with the NO WORK/LOW WORK situation that has been going on now for MONTHS and MONTHS. That seems so unfair that their high paychecks keep coming in to mgmt -- when without the MT's, the mgmt would have no paychecks!!!!!
Their training schedule kind of got backed up and so far the only training..(sm)
I've had is one short Bayscribe session. But I extended my 2 week notice at Medquist and I have until July 17 now to get some training in at MDI and do some reports to get familiar with the platforms. I'm looking forward to it!
That is a flat-out lie.
I happen to work for that company in the QA department, and we do not dock lines for sending to QA. That wouldn't even make sense. We're also paid by the line -- so you're saying we cut our own pay just to spite the MT? That's crazy. To the OP -- don't believe everything you read on a message board. This poster was obviously a disgruntled ex-employee.
It flat out says
in the BL that things will stay the same as it pertains our accounts, pay rate, and benefits for the near future. I could see why someone would be worried. I had to read the BL myself after reading the other person's posting as I had not read over it yet.
To each their own I say. Everyone has different life circumstances and has to really assess things and make a decision based on their life situation. I think it is wonderful that there have been what I consider a lot of postings from my fellow MTs and to hear different view points. Unfortunately, I have only really heard 2 that are the total opposite to what I would consider an overwhelming majority.
I can't say enough about their training team. Excellent training!
The people at Medware are all just great. I wish I would have joined the Medware family sooner! They are very flexible and caring!
do you mean company training or med transcription itself training?
nm
That is a flat out bogus lie.
First, they don't have to give ANY reason and can let you go -- it's called employment-at-will and it's how virtually every state in this union operates.
Second, working "off the clock" is NOT FREE LABOR for MQ. They are still paying you. You simply are not eligible to receive benefits. You also have advantages such as not having to follow any certain schedule and not having to work any certain number of hours...only a line count minimum to make per payperiod. There are pros and cons of both.
While both types of positions work in conjunction with one another to help MQ function, it is the employee position (NOT the SE positions) that give them their greatest strength.
Get over your rotten attitude and stop spreading lies.
They flat out lied to me then. They said
they do not get any kind of pay at all. Hmmmm....
They are upfront with the pay, flat 0.08 cpl with benefits...
incentive of 0.0850 at 1800 lines, 2000 lines 0.090 cpl.
They flat out refused to take out mine.
One of the many reasons I quit. (Obviously, from the posts on this board, I quit just in time.)
My condolences to those of you who were treated badly.
These are the times I wish I was paid a flat fee
Hello,
Just wanted to vent. Work has been slow on my primary account and I have been juggling around about 4 different back up accounts. Sadly, for the last 2 days, I have been on a particular account in which it sounds like this woman is dictating through a pillow. I mean she almost sounds like one of the Peanuts teachers. There are so many blanks in my documents, because I just CANNOT hear her!! Even the QA said since I am new to account that one of my documents had some blanks, but even she couldn't understand what she was saying. Needless to say, it is taking me almost 45 minutes to do a 2-1/2 minute to 3-minute dictation. I am so irritated and angry. This is really cutting down on my production. Not to mention my que is filled up with this SAME dictator. Sorry I had to vent, but these are the times I wish I worked for a flat hourly rate.
One of your premises is flat out wrong
Even as a receptionist, a person with experience will indeed be started at a wage much greater than a person with no experience. Had you done any research before making that assertion, you would have noted that almost every job posting states that salary is DOE (perhaps you aren't familiar that acronym- Depending On Experience) or other ads that will state salary commensurate on experience.
When I started in the field many years ago, I started (and trained) in-hospital. Even that, based on a prior Career Step that had given me a bit of a leg up. However, I still had to start at the bottom. It would be several years before I caught up wage-wise with people who had no edge on me other than a couple of years seniority.
So, frankly, I do not believe that a fresh MT should be making what I make with over 20 years, even if merely for the fact that I will not require the company resources in the form of QA that a newbie will, and because the years have enabled me to type across the board instead of needing to be spoon fed from the same bowl of chowder every day.
My account has an 800# but I have a flat rate plan because of sm
my college kids and it is only a few dollars more a month than not having it. I set it up as a business line with unlimited long distance when I started with KS at their suggestion. It only costs me $54.99 per month and I have kept it because of the kids. Long distance charges aren't like they used to be. I used to pay $400 a month a few years ago with a different company. This is so much better.
I cannot get flat rate plans in my area...SM
I presently use One Suite but am reimbursed. I used to use Vonage but it does not work well with the account I am presently on.
Does Transcend pay a flat hourly rate
If so, how much?
You are aware that other companies pay a flat ASR rate? sm
Some pay as low as 2 to 2.5 cpl for ASR editing. With Webmedx your rate is based on your pay - and some MTs are making considerable productivity increases (40% and above) using Webmedx ASR, so they are actually making as much as straight transcription.
But if you flat-out think someone SUCKS, you should quit. Do everyone a favor - sm
you can't be doing a good job for the company if you obviously despise them.
Very large line count is a red flat to QA
In the previous company that I worked for, I was typing 1600-1800 lines a day. I lost that account and was switched to a new one. On the new account there were ALOT of templates in pain management (which I transcribed). If they were not already there, I made my own. My line count went up over 2000 lines a day consistently. First thing you know, I started getting audited - and often. That was fine with me because I got 98, 99, and 100% a couple of times. Did you line count go up significantly like that? Now if you are making critical or major mistakes, they are going to keep a check on you. If it is punctuation, just take note and don't worry about it.
Yeah, right. Heard this before. They flat-out consistently over hire.
nm
No, I am not paid any flat rate and I told that recruiter
I gave my notice, but he continues to ask me. Of course, I have not given my notice and will see how this job plays out. One thing to note is the recruiter claims I have a great account that many would be happy to have. May be he is worried about fabrication.
Offshoring of American medical records is flat out wrong and...
a security risk in some cases...
No Long Distance Charges...they pay flat rate phone plan or use internet
..
what training? no training for me, first day they Tried to give me 2 ESL....
nm
they did not come up first. An hour of training is not really training.
nm
They did go through it on your first day of training.
Check your email attachments again. Call the HR person or the trainer on her toll-free number, and they will explain it to you again. Posting and venting here won't do anything for you.
training
Training was good. It is what happens after the training that is not so good. Why do they not read what people post on their own portal. If they would just do that they would see what they need to change.
Have you had any training? sm
You know, I hate when people nitpick over accidental misspellings in otherwise good posts, but your post makes me wonder about your background--and I don't think it's nitpicking.
What MT education do you have? You do have to train for this field. It's not an easy thing you do after just a couple months of studying medical terminology from a book. Maybe you know these things already.
The answer is no as far as at-home entry-level jobs. Any reputable company I've come in contact with wouldn't let entry-level MTs work at home or probably hire them, for that matter. IF you have completed MT training, a hospital may be your best bet for getting your foot in the door as well as getting a firm foundation for later at-home work.
Good luck
New training
I just had to give my 2 cents. I started training on Monday, I got sick with the stomach flu early Tuesday morning. They were so nice and understanding about it, and rescheduled me for next Monday. I was a bit skeptical of this company because of this board and all of the negativity that I almost didn't take the job.
I left one nightmarish company in December. They were soooooo unorganized it was pathetic. I get the feeling that Spheris is going to be a lot more organized than the last company, and I also feel that if I have any problems at all, I will be able to get in touch with someone and maybe they will listen to me. I am really upset that I had to get sick this week, because I would have been starting on my scheduled shift this coming Sunday. Yes, things are new at the moment and I am not even out of training yet, but I have a feeling that I am really going to like it there. Unlike the last company, I kept having red flags and bad feeling all the way around. And because I was new and the money seemed decent, I went against my best judgement and spent 5 months of hell.
Anyway, that is just my 2 cents.
I'm training with new job & then I'm out of there! sm
I was happy there before they started being ignorant! Now there is too much required OT, hours must be exact, too much header info we're not paid for, and most of all the account hopping is absolutely awful! There is no way to make any $$
It really irks me that they send out these emails noting the high producers. If I were allowed to stay on one account I'd be a high producer, too. I usually have 2-3 accounts per day. I've asked them if they would let me stay on one, but I'm told that is the nature of the business; deal with it.
Going to be good to be gone. New job is better already.
Training pay???
Any suggestions on companies who pay an hourly rate for decent period of training? Any info would be appreciated.
Training
For training, they do the conference call to tell you how to use the program and show you how to find things on the intranet. After that, they turn you loose to start typing. Everything will go to QA until you get the required accuracy (usually takes 1 to 2 weeks). You will get feedback through your email on pretty much every report you do in that time. The QA people are awesome and a great help. Plus, you have everyone on IM to contact if you should have any questions at any time, including other people who work on the accounts you work on. My TM sends out an updated team list every week or so to let us know who works on what.
