That's a possibility and I do know companies who have MTs that want to keep a good thing for themselves and I can well understand it

No complaints here. Going to get work done and put money away for the times it gets slow again, and for Christmas.

Most of the questions you ask have been asked
dozens of times previously. If you spent a little time going through the archives you would find the information.
My experience with a company may be different from Mary down the street, so you have to investigate for yourself, read all the posts and decide for yourself if company might be a good fit for you.

Answers to some questions asked about TransTech out of Houston, TX
Different platforms -- Dictaphone ExText -- very clumbsy/clunky editing platform. Probably 85% ESL now that so much VR/editing being done.
Big push for more editing, so what straight transcription that is kicked out from the voice machine is absolutely horrible on the ears! THE TRUTH and nothing else but the truth !

Different strokes for different MT's, but I work to earn a living, not for the fun of it ! Transcription used to be a FUN profession, but lacking now with all the jobs going to VR machine.

I read the other post but was wondering if some of you who responded to that or anyone else could answer a few more things if you had time.
i tested with them yesterday and was wondering if the transcription portion of the test is anything like the dictators really are; are there lots and lots of ESLs?? that was a hard test. i don't mind some ESLs but not 90% ESLs as i gotta make income too.
how do you like the medremote and is it user friendly, hard/easy to get line counts? i haven't heard of it before so i am curious. i hate changing jobs!!!!! also, can you use Instant Text with it?
i really liked the incentive portion as i worked one company with that before and it kinda pushed me more to hit the top of the ladder to get more pay. i didn't quit til my goal for that day was hit so i made more $ in the long run.

I am thinking of applying as they have a good sign-on bonus and the benefits look really good. Could you tell me what their platform is, easy to make money, cost of insurance, and are they flexible or do you have set schedule and they freak if your not working at that very moment. Thanks for any help.

What kind of platform do they have for ER work? Do you need a second phone line? Also, are their schedules strictly Su-Thu or Tu-Sa or can you just work a couple weekends per month? Do they have a pretty good health plan?

Busy does not mean disorganized. I would rather work for a busy company sm
than one with no work. I started with Keystrokes 3 months ago and it is the best thing I ever did. I have a steady paycheck and plenty of work.

Your post doesn't answer the question I asked.
You said you LIKE to pay your bills, you have a good rapport with your supervisor, you're flexible. Does "you're flexible" mean that you work in addition to your 8-hour shift when the work load is low to make your 20K lines per pay period?
Maybe because not ALL companies post there. He/She just asked a simple question!

That is the exact reason why I am looking for a new company is voice recognition that my account just started doing very heavily, and I HATE it! If I don't get an e-mail response from them by Monday, I might call them to see if they have any current openings.

I was hired by KS for this account but after about a week I simply gave up because of the amount of ESL dictators, thinking I would never be able to produce their required line count. Reading your post has made me wonder if I gave up way too soon. Had you done a lot of ESL dictation previous to starting this account? How long did it take you to become proficient at this account? Thanks for your input.

Actually I posted looking for answers to my questions above, not looking to answer questions, but
to here goes...firstly, I don't know about the platform, only that it is Word based. Secondly, I have many years cardio, and thirdly, no the test was not hard. Still looking for any answers to my questions above. Thanks in advance.
Sad but true. You're asked to work NOW, then asked to stop NOW, then go again and then stop
If you dont get off the minute the hospital asks, even if you have no idea that they have requested that your to be off, then the hospital MTs steal your work right out of your queue and I mean reports you have already done. I dont understand the concept of having a contract with a hospital and then having to fight for work with the hospital MTs. We should have guaranteed work during our shift and enough of the the hospital wants you to help right now and then a few hours later they want us to stop working as the work is too low. It is crazy and I couldnt work like that so I had to quit.
Ditto.. Over 13 years experience working in hospitals doing all types of reports, currently working
for a national etc.. and Spheris told me I didnt have the qualifications. What cracked me up was the hospital I was working at at the time contracted some of our work out to them.. What a joke..I was good enough to work for a hospital and gave them work, yet not qualified enough for them. What is wrong with this picture.

Two of my accounts are super busy and two others are moderately busy.
Very busy
I work for 3 companies and 2 out of the 3 are very busy. One is slow but I just use that money for free money. You have to keep looking. There are companies out there that pay their people a halfway decent salary and have work. Am I making what I made 5-10 years ago, no, but I can pay my bills and have money leftover. I am also looking at a fourth company to replace the slow company as I think they are probably losing the acct I am working on. Keep looking, there is work.
I have been as busy as I can be. There has been
overtime available the last 2 weekends and enough work in the system to not have to check back later in the evening. If it weren't for the fact that I got the flu over New Years and it is still lingering, I could have really cleaned up 
I do know somebody starting cherrypicking my primary at my last job. I would have to sign in at midnight and hope my favorite surgeon was up late dictating to get anything remotely lucrative. Otherwise, there would be like 40 echocardiograms in my queue. When I asked management about that, they said the census was low. Funny, I guess people can stop in and have an echo anytime they want as apparently no one has to admit these people or order a cardiology consult on them.
These managers don't really get that you know your account and WORK FLOW forwards and backwards after sitting there all day, day in and day out. I think you may be right to call that BS as I pretty much knew immediately something was going on with my account.
MQ same situation. No pay for working holidays, no pay for working weekends nothing. Now noone works
much anymore and so they jerk the work out of the accounts to some place that throws it back with a lot of bad bad quality. This is the NE region. I dont know what the others are doing.

I think what some are trying to bring up is the fact that legally,if for some off the wall reason, you'd have to answer say...privacy,HIPPA whatever questions in a deposition, then you would be in breach of contract with one of your jobs.
Not sure anyone's miserable or even cares about your situation, just bringing up the obvious, which seems your way to busy patting & grooming yourself up, to worry about. Keep on with that great life!

My sentiments exactly. One has to look out for themselves because God knows these companies donot look out for you Wouldn't you like to know how much the company actually gets per line plus they make all these promises to get an acccount on board and to get an MT to work there.

I agree with Busy's approach. Although I left MQ (new PS who was clueless), I did the right thing by MQ, gave them two weeks' notice, worked as hard as I could right up to the last, and sent thank you e-mails to my WFC and PS. I agree with Busy that there are many, many choices out there for many, many needs. MQ no longer met my needs, so I left them in as decent and professional a manner as I could.
