This is what I do

Click on Dock in express scribe
Settings should be
Sound Rec Device - Default sound in
Audio input Channel - Wave out mix
Start your audio in windows media - you should see that it is recording into express scribe. When the recording is complete click done and the audio file will be shown in your express scribe window
