Work in house
I currently work in house for a hospital in Maine who is going from pay per hour to pay per line
In-house work
I work for two hospitals directly as an employee. Both jobs I got after seeing their ads in the local paper, but would suggest to actually contact the hospitals in your area and inquire rather than wait for an ad.
Is that In-House or you work at home?

Is it work from home or in house ...sm
in New York. That is a good job.
The Transcription House - Anyone work for them?
I have done a search on this forum for a company called The Transcription House and I cannot find anything on them. Does any work for them or know anything about them that they would care to share? Thanks in advance
Does TransHealth require you to work one day sm
of every weekend (such as Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs) or do they have M-F with rotating weekends? TIA
With Webmedx they do require you to work
a schedule, though often there is no work so you have to flex. Some accounts have extremely tight TAT so it is necessary to work a set schedule, some accounts may allow more flexibility.
There are several. Are you lookin to work in-house or at home? nm

The rudeness on this board is why I won't work in-house. sm
In all the professions I have been in, I cannot believe how rude, condescending, and judgmental MTs are. These boards are for helping each other to make wise career choices and sharing our input, not to go around being the spelling and grammar police and making people feel like they don't know what they are doing. I am well respected in my job, have 100% QA ratings and don't belittle other people who make their errors here. I think posters here need to spend less time being rude and more time thinking of how we can all help fellow MTs looking for advice.
The Ops could be staying in-house with the rest of the work being done by MW. nm

I work in-house at a local hospital...
And it's been pretty much famine conditions there, too. We're having to use our VH hours when we're called off for lack of work. I don't know where you're located, but I'm in central California. Perhaps it's a nationwide phenomenon for some reason.
Hang in there. The powers-that-be where I work keep telling us it's just temporary (although I'm preparing for the worst).
~hugs~
Does Medware require you to work holidays?
nm
Looks like they require everyone to work Saturday also. Not an issue for me but maybe for some.
Work schedules:
Full time: 1) Tuesday - Saturday
2) Monday-Thursday, and Saturday
Part time: To be determined but must include Friday or Saturday
As you can see from the above schedules, the transcription work increases at the end of each week.
Monday is our slowest day, and Friday and Saturday are our busiest days.
No offense, but do you work at line rate in-house?
s
Sometimes in-house people will work the holidays since we're only

Do all companies require you to work 1 year before you can take vacation?
Meaning you are an employee, of course. Just wondering if there is any hope out there. If you start with a company and it turns out horrible, then you have to start all over again, waiting for another year to go by. I don't want to wish my life away!!
Thanks everyone!
Lots of companies require you to work live in their
system and dial-up won't allow you to do that. Some companies ask for DSL/Cable so it is less taxing on their servers for people to download. I know there were companies who are okay with dial-up because you just download and then work off-line, but I think those numbers are dwindling.
That is one of many reasons why I chose to work at home! No thanks to in-house! Good luck. nm

You all have a point. I forget how this at-home thing works. I used to work in-house at a hospital.
and... we got paid extra for working holidays and even weekends and evenings. I am new to this at-home thing and it's pretty disappointing. I think I'm back to the hospital..
They do require urine drug testing for sure, no matter what accounts you work on, theirs or a hospit
.
As a whole.. nice people to work for, decent benefits but the get off/on the system, work/no work,
is maddening. I couldnt pay my bills or even work the schedule I was assigned. They would ask us not to work until work built up in the evenings and I specifically wanted to work days as I have kids etc. It just didnt work out for me but to each his own. It just seems there has to be a better balance in this business that what is happening.
I did speak with my manager. Work was promised. No work there when I needed to work.
I see the reports everyday too, but when I get work it is of bad quality, then there is no work unless I work diffrent shifts. Thank you.
Paydays sm
Can anyone tell me how the following companies pay (i.e. twice a month, every other Friday, etc.)? I really do not like being paid twice a month and looking for a company that pays every other Friday. I did a search and couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance.
Keystrokes
Precyse
Webmedx
Phoenix Medcom - I think they pay every other Friday.
paydays are 7th and 22nd. nm
Paydays are 8th and 23rd. nm

Paydays for MT's of Transtech
Would one of you Transtech employees say when paydays are and if they hold back a check when you hire on. When is the beginning of the next pay period, and when do you get paid for that period. Thanks.
Transtech paydays
Can somebody tell me how Transtech pays as far as twice monthly and on what days? Thanks in advance!
Paydays are on the 1st and the 15th, unless it is a weekend, then sm
it is the following Monday. Welcome to Keystrokes -- hope you love it as much as I do.
My liaison always says to work on secondary when primary is low on work/no work. n/m

Paydays are 8th and 23rd. Mine are usually DD's the day before these dates. nm
Paydays are the 1st and the 15th. If the payday falls on a weekend sm
the official rule is that we get paid the following Monday. However, the last 2 times it fell on a weekend and it was a Saturday, we were paid the Friday before (yea!!). There is a listing of all of the official pay dates for 2009. You should ask S for it.
I really think MDI could clean up a lot of
problems if they would communicate with the remote MTs. We had weekly conference calls for 2 or 3 months, then 1 for 1 month and then none. If I did not know MTs on other accounts, I would think there was nothing put out in communication, but several of my friends get little things like notes where they might need additional help or other little things going on in the company. I have had 1 e-mail in last 6 months stating where they needed additional help. Why? Because I have a team leader who thinks she is going to control everyone and her idea of controlling is to limit the amount of work you are allowed to do. This team leader idea was the worst idea they ever had when you have a team leader like this one!!!!!!!!
I used to clean the grill at BK...
Your post brought back gruesome memories! I also manned the fry station - quite fun during those hot summer months. Hmm...come to think of it - MT doesn't seem quite so bad now that I think about it....
You and me both. I basically just clean up
for brand spanking new MTs at one-third of their line rate. Depressing. But am making a little money while looking for other jobs.
Then email that too! I want a clean board and I think Adm does too!

But when was the last time you got a C.O.L. raise, or a merit raise, for that matter? Here in the western U.S. a gallon of gas is now $4.00 in some places, a box of cereal (which once you open it, is in reality HALF a box of cereal!) costs $5.00, rents are high, etc., and MTs still make about 7-8 cents a line - if that.
It only takes a second to clean my toilet. Want to

When I read "that breed", I thought she meant "Arabians". Don't try to clean it up.
You know exactly what she meant. It was obvious.

Work is easy, very nice owner, pays weekly, work in Word.
Pay is always on time, direct deposit, very nice management to work with, and DQS platform, work
load normally busy, but low now because of the summer slow down on my accounts. Sound an issue on some accounts, but not others. Overall, wonderful company.
That is a BIG problem at TransTech is leads assigning work, rather than letting the work flow
This TT MT just admitted to that fact. It has been very obvious, as so easy to tell how work comes into our que and then gets pulled out as fast as it came in and replaced with YUKKY dictators. VERY frustrating to us other TT MT's who take the JUNK that is NOT assigned to other MT's, such as this poster.
Ever thought of a home health care aide? Usually paid training and start work right away. Can work
