Are they losing accounts. Do most of their accounts stay for long period of time. I have
heard pros and cons about the quality of their work. I guess it is much cheaper than other companies can offer.

know a little more about the company. It was discussed that no one could find anything about the company and I made a post that could provide a starting point that was not speculative for someone's future search. Didn't mean to be smarmy at all.

Have the attitudes of people in the office changed for the better? I remember the nastiest dispositions I have ever encountered in this business.

I'm not losing out; I have had my own accounts for
they aren't going to get anything better than they had with MDI. Just not gonna happen. Not everyone has the ability (opportunity, connections, know how, experience) to get their own accounts. I feel fortunate that it has come easily to me. I loved MDI but left because I made more with my own accounts. If not for those accounts, though, I would have definitely stayed with MDI. If i were with MDI now, in the situation today, I don't know what I would do...
They are losing their biggest and one of few rad accounts. sm
My manager told me that it will be gone by the end of the month. It is in NH.

I figured if they ever lost this one we would be notified in advance. (or at least hoped) This one they got when they bought YOG out, large, large facility. E-mail if you wish.

I used to work for this woman and at best it was shaky, but now it's really bad. She just lost 2 large accounts due to the problems with her work coming in from India and the Phillipines, so now she's down to one account left and everyone I was working with has left already, shortly after I did. I'd stay clear of someone so insistent on using the offshore people and who doesn't seem to know how to employ US MTs successfully. This is a losing proposition and not a good company.

I assume they want us all on VR, so they can pay us 2 cpl or whatever they are paying the offshore MTs.
You can ask to be put on a higher level account, however, there is no M-F on the higher level accounts. They want you to work evenings and one weekend day.
If HL people know they are going to be losing their jobs, why are they still doing work for them?

I like the company, the benefits and the fact they don't outsource. I will stick it out and hope for the best.

I wasn't saying that we do not have enough people on the accounts. I was saying that we do not r
out of work and it is always busy. Lee is the owner but the managers "run the show". She is sales not HR. She took over calls for a few days when Karen and Keystrokes parted ways. Becky is the one to talk to at the office. Lee is out of town on sales calls and client visits too much to handle that. You should call the office at 630-739-5520. Perhaps you misunderstood that you were hired? She hired a transcriptionist that I used to work with and she has been working for a month now, starting two days after she was hired.
Becky is wonderful and can help anyone who needs help. Did you ever leave a message with the office or did you call Lee at her direct line?
I am not involved in this end but am friends with a manager (worked with her for 5 years at a hospital) and know that HR is not Lee's strong point - it is a full time job and she already works 12 hour days.
Great people, IC only, low pay, easy accounts, sm

I have been having the phone line go dead and sometimes I can call right back and get my report and sometimes I lose it. I have had my cable people out here several days in a row, and they can find nothing wrong. I was wondering if this happens to others - and maybe it is a problem with the hospital line we use - not actually the line in my home. I appreciate any input. (I am new on this account so do not have enough history to know.)

Biggest problem with MQ is they put too many people on the accounts and guess what. You either have
nothing or keep going into multiple accounts which presents its fair share of problems plus big time QA problems and quality problems and MQ wonders why they lose accounts. They STILL dont understand it is better for everyone including the client for the MTs to be familiar with the account. They just dont get it and I guess never will.

I'm past that "honeymoon" stage of the first few months that another poster mentioned. I still find them to be the best for me. Never run out of work, always there for questions, including timely responses, great people (QA and otherwise).
I'd highly suggest contacting either your supervisor or Jane (as she offered) about lack of work. As you should see on the daily reports, there is plenty of work out there.

I wonder what the quality of the work is like adding all those people to accounts. I agree. They
will lose accounts this way and MTs will move on. No one is going to sit around and make no money and then have QA breathing down your neck when you are thrown into all these accounts. So no one listens in New York. What is the problem with them.

Yeah, both.. Really rough accounts but exceptionally nice people.
It's a shame but some of the accounts were really high ESL. I did like the people though and would have stayed if the accounts were different.

How do people cherry pick on accounts? You mean like supervisors assigning jobs?
I did not know you could do that, but is that what you mean? I need to know because I will not work for that.
MOST of TransTech's accounts are obtained through Dictaphone/Nuance -- not by any TT mgmt people
out seeking work for all the MT's that they have recently hired on. That is not a good thing when Dictaphone has control of how much work TT gets, when we can have some work from them, etc. They have other MTSO's who want work for their MT's, too, so Dictaphone/Nuance has to share with all MTSO's who have contracted with them to use their equipment; thus, doling out jobs as Dictaphone/Nuance sees fit for their good.
And furthermore, you can see this hits a sore spot, this giving people backup accounts and then
you run out of them is also ridiculous. There you sit making less and less money and trying to learn multiple dictators and then guess what, that dries up. Once you know that is what a company is doing, then you go to your alternate plans and never look back. Sooner or later when MTs either decide no more or they get multiple jobs and they have to keep hiring and hiring which impacts their quality I am sure it will settle down. At least, I would hope so although it doesnt seem to be right now. Could be because of sending work offshore not sure. All multiple backup accounts do is make it harder to make money and you have more problems with QA and your own quality because you just keep popping in and out of all these accounts that you really dont get to know that well. Knowing an account well is the best way to go for quality and line count for sure, NOT multiple accounts. All that does is help the MTSO keep the work caught up to the exact MINUTE.

I happen to work for an excellent MTSO as an IC, never miss a paycheck, EVER. There are others not so lucky. If it were not for checking on this board, how on earth would we know who to trust? We need to keep each other informed. Great job!

I have almost 40 years of experience and was quoted 4.5 cpl on editing, AND I have been with TT for a few years already. Now I know I have a bargaining edge since you are being paid 6.5 cpl. How in the world did you manage that? I would definitely try editing for that, with the incentives and all. So glad you posted this. I really do not want to leave the company.
