There is no US and THEM

in my analogy. I learned that saying in the early eighties before offshoring was even a glimmer on the horizon. I see MTs who are US citizens who will accept work for 7 cents a line. This brings the payment down for all of us. Many (not all) of those hired for slave wages do not know their stuff. When I tell prospective employers I will not work for under 10 cpl or 9.5 with a mightly good benefits package, that separates out the employers who are willing to pay for someone who really knows what they are doing from an employer who is willing to exploit the worker (in this case the monkey because they do not know what they are doing) who is willing to work for 5 cpl. And yes, there are actually people out there trying (emphasis on trying) to transcribe for 5 cpl. The employers deserve what they get. Unfortunately, the patients (who most certainly do not deserve to be the recipients of shoddy work) pay the price for the employers' greed. Race, country of origin, nationality have nothing to do with it.
