Someone just asked about Task. There are a few replies below. I was one of them who got interviewed, but as soon as she got on the phone with me she wanted more of a time committment. I can tell you they're lookin for someone to give at least 20-40 hours per week. Good luck.

are from the same person, and obviously not a recruiter. Just someone looking for something to do. A recruiter is way too busy to monitor this board and make these replies. Just my $.02.

I have a fun question ask everyone: what (and yes I am saying what not who we don't want names) What was the worst doctor you had to type for? I have typed for doctors from Bolivia, Portugal, and Czech all with English as their second language.. I could do them just fine after I figured out the basics. The worst doctor I ever typed for was from Texas. WOW could that man garble a sentence and fast - oh my gosh he talked fast. English was his first and only language.

I suppose all the Indians will be cussing us out as the work gets offshored back to the shores.
Although, and even though we joke, to a degree that has happened in some industries already. While they still maintain the largest portion of things like the tech industry, a noticeable portion has started to be offshored to places like the Ukraine and parts of Africa as the Indian wages have risen to fill the demand for employees.
You kinow, I get mixed messages with that.
There have been job applications that want to know every single thing, even what were you doing when you were unemployed, and they want the dates for that. I have had people complain when I didn't. However, I would rather put job experience pertaining to the position I am trying to get.

MTs, where there is no discipline displayed in public, there will certainly not be any in private after you're with the company. This should be extremely educational. Why anybody but the absolute newbies would go with this company after these recent posts is beyond me.

I know with Yahoo you can save messages
to your computer. You would have to play around to find it, but I know it's there because I can see all of my past msgs and they are time/date stamped.
I click on the related messages and there
are about a dozen. If you will click on one of those links there are usually several other posts where others have responded to the same questions you are asking. Someone has started a private Transtech board within the last few weeks, but there is tons of stuff about Transtech on MTStars.

if what you mean by looking for more is you want someone to tell you it's great, then here - IT'S SO GREAT, I MAKE MAD MONEY THERE, they let me work whenever I want and there is always tons of work and OT offered on all these easy accounts with normals. I think I'll retire with this company.

I think Larry must have left that one out in the conference I was in yesterday. It is hard to know if issues are purposefully being clouded (so we don't leave right away) or if like you say, they just really don't know. I would like know to the truth about whether CB, DJ, etc did only find out a few days ago. I guess ultimately it really doesn't matter does it.
Yes, and even if they are saying IC and SE are available, you are right, everything is followed with the foreseeable future disclaimer, or I think or I believe. I know with MQ, eventually SE gave way to IC which gave way to total employee no choice, stay or go. .... ....

I'm not sure if the sites can be mentioned here but if you search on this forum and do a search for MT jobs you'll have quite a few companies that are hiring. Good luck.
I worked in QA for Transcending back in 2000-2001. They were paying hourly back then. SM
The accounts weren't too horribly bad. The reason I ended up leaving was because slowly but surely they began to inch closer and closer to paying QA by production. When I first started, the quota was something like 30 reports a day. We simply had to make sure that we QA'd all reports that were close to being out of TAT first and then do the rest. Then, my supervisor left and they hired a new one who immediately called a big teleconference meeting and said we had to up production to 60 reports a day. Then, they started counting lines. Which was fine because they were still paying hourly.
Next, there was an MT who used VR software because she was blind - yes blind. Again, when I first started, I was told we had to edit her entire reports because she used the VR software and we had to make sure that everything was correct and made sense. Then, we are told only check the blanks. I wasn't comfortable with that and I continued to completely proof every word. Then I was called on the carpet not because I wasn't meeting the production quota, but because I was ONLY meeting the production quota. I told them I was proofing all of the MT's work that used VR, I was told that no one ever told me to proof every word of the VR reports and that I needed to fill in blanks and move on. When I voiced my concerns, I was told that was my job, to fill in blanks and I should move on and strive to product above the standards. Next thing you know, rumors abounded about changing the QA staff to being paid on production. So I left.
There just seemed to me to be too little concern for quality and more emphasis on quantity and I just didn't want to be part of company who would take money out of my pocket just to line their own and that's what they were doing by putting QA on production. I also am not comfortable with the job of QA being thought of as a blank filler. There is much more to the QA profession than just simply filling in blanks.
I don't know if Transcend ever did start paying QA by production, but I could see that the idea was being floated there. Maybe there was a enough protest that they didn't change from hourly.

I applied a month or two ago, received an email from someone asking if I would take a test and said she was getting ready to go on vacation for a week, so I hurried and immediately and told her I'd love to take the test. I never heard back. I waiting thinking she went on vacation and would contact me when she got back to do the test but nothing...very strange..Just wondered if this happened to anyone else.
What you read on the boards is not always
the gospel truth.
If clocking in/out isn't for you, that's fine. That doesn't mean it is a bad practice.
If I were a company accountable for employee hours, I'd make you clock in and out. Otherwise, you'd have to be an IC. Makes perfect sense to me.
You don't KNOW anything about Spheris if you haven't worked for them. You are only speculating with rumors.
OSI's management has been all over these boards
making up a different moniker for each happy, happy OSi employee they pretend to be throughout the day. Just the fact that they have nothing better to do than this and the fact that they're such immature deceptive babies just shows the lack of class that is running this company.
They show their lack of professionalism on here every day and they think we're all too stupid to notice.
They posted on all the MT boards.
I did not like the tone of their ad. If you pass our test we'll call you, etc. Like they are doing you a favor. Hello, without MTs you don't have a business. On their website it says their rates start at 7.5 cpl for the clients. How much do the MTs make then? I'm really sick of these places making money off our digits and not paying more than McDonalds. I think they offshore too. I guess I'm in a bad mood. Sorry.
what do you expect. We keep saying on these boards
that things are going down the tubes, then some Pollyanna's get on and gush about how great their business is doing and you must have poor skills if you can't get paid more than 3 cpl, bla,bla,bla. Look at the big picture. MT is going to get worse, not better.

Company reading boards
Boy do the companies read these boards and when they find out that you are asking any questions about them or should you post anything negative about them -- they zing you a good one. Nothing like freedom of speech or expressing one's opinion.
These boards should be for accurate information
and not for speculation. Zylomed did at one point, several years ago, offshore a small amount of work to Indian because they could not find American MTs who could/would do the very difficult doctors. This work was eventually ALL given to American MTs - I know because I trained the MTs to do this work. Zylomed DOES NOT outsource any work.
Management watches these boards
and I wouldn't be surprised if they don't input most of the superlative blurbs.

I've had offers from several companies that don't advertise positions for whatever reason. I have had my current position 5 years from a company that didn't advertise, though they now do.
Read the boards this week and it will tell you.
I'm not saying she has some valid points but MTSOs really need to be a little more refined. If she has things to say to someone say them privately not publicly. Most of the good MTs know all this and do not need an MTSO to blow off steam. I don't think the MTs need to be blowing off either but they are not an MTSO and the MTSO needs to preserve their image as professional.
