There are a lot of people who do and it seems that most love working there. I started 6 months ago

and have no complaints at all. It is refreshing to work for a company that treats employees as individuals, not just a number. I also like that they do not send work offshore and that I only have one main account. I do have 2 back-up accounts, but have never worked on them after training. I am lucky that my main account is very busy, too busy most of the time!

I just started working about 3 months ago
that requires 1 weekend day every week. I didn't think it would be so bad, but I don't like it at all. I realize that the medical field is a 24/7 profession, but I would rather rotate weekends like we did when I worked as a nurse. Better yet, if companies offered a weekend differential, they could probably find enough part-timers who want to work just weekends; wouldn't that be nice. Oh well, so much for dreaming.
Ditto, Keystrokes is a wonderful company with wonderful people! I love working for Keystrokes!
I am just not making enough money. They are a great company though, just ask for a back up account.
I started 6 months ago and am very happy. sm
I started with one account that was busy and still have a lot of work. I have a back-up account but have never worked it as my primary is very busy. If you like radiology, this is the place to go from everything I hear. I transcribe the Big 4 and really enjoy my account.
My pay is good and on time thanks to direct deposit. I had to wait a few weeks for IDs but it was worth the wait!
I started with MedScribe about 6 months ago
I have an acute care account that I work on and also do a little ER for a secondary account. I do work one weekend day but they have kept me in work and pay is every other Friday, direct deposit. That is a big plus from where I came from. Good luck to you. Karen.
I am not on Meditech and I started at 0.09 ten months ago. sm
Not all of their accounts are Meditech but some are. I actually want a Meditech account as I am used to it and can move fast.
Started at MedScribe 3 months
I was attracted to the sign-on bonus, which is nice because they pay it $100 a pay period so I did not have to wait for 6 months or a year. I like my super and have plenty of work, I use InstaText and that converted just fine. I did not need the insurance but it is a nice package, they pay every two weeks by direct deposit. I have not heard of the other company you mentioned but I did come from a VERY large company and it is nice working for a smaller one, first name basis is a change. Good luck to you.
Started 2 months ago at MedScribe
Acute care starts at 8 and they have 2 incentive levels which adds another 3/4. That is for employee status with healthcare. Benefits are affordable (Aetna) and they pay by DD every 2 weeks. I have always had work and my team leader is very nice, she came from MW. The platform is Word based and I have all of my expander. After I applied I started in about 5 days. They have been very nice and I can honestly say, so far so good. Glad I left my rather large company to work for a smaller one, it's nice to be called by my first name for a change. Leanne.
I have been on there since it started 4 months ago and this is the first time.
They are freaking out because the doctors can still dictate!!!
But that only started 2 months ago and besides that, remember
you said I was management. I loved VR from the very start, before the other money. I can work part time only and make over 20$ per hour. No sweat. That sure is not what others are saying about minimum wage. What the heck are they talking about. Lack of experience I guess.
I started at amphion a couple of months ago
and I love it! I stay on the same account and never run out of work. They are BEGGING for overtime, which they do pay extra for. The people are so nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend trying them out. Good luck.
I started 6 months ago and enjoy my account
I am on an acute care hospital and they have me backed up to ER. They just mentioned starting a new hospital, I guess a big one, in about a month so I know they will be hiring. So far so good. Pay is every other Friday by direct deposit so it is on time.
You can buy XP from Dell. I started with a different company about 2 months ago and sm
had to buy a new Dell as Vista did not work for them either. Most of the companies do not take Vista. It just doesn't work with everything yet.
I started at 8 cpl, was increased to 9 cpl in 3 months and 9.5 in a year. nm

SS has a lot of new accounts that have just started and more starting over the next few months. sm
As far as I know, SS is totally US based (going by what I was told). They are offering OT right now for us MTs. I am enjoying it certainly and I have been here for a couple of years.
Oh my gosh yes! I started at a company about 6 months ago,
starting out right out of the gate producing around 2200-2500 lines in 6 hours, best I have EVER done since leaving my local clinic and going with a huge company. However, it seems that once the honeymoon was over, things started to change and now, on the same dictators, I barely get 1600 lines in a day. It is a Word-based program and in the beginning I had no problems with the programs opening or typing in them and now they seem to freeze all of the time which, of course, slows my production tremendously. I cannot figure out if it is my computer or something that they have in the program to keep you from doing over a certain amount in a day, which I am not sure why they would.
Took a long time for me. They called after I had accepted and started another job, so about 2 months
?
Just started working for them
I just started working for them. The people are very nice. The program is great but you cannot be logged in to the internet while you are in the program. You have to have a Transnet foot pedal and an adapter that cost approximately 130.00. If you use the internet as your search resource and do not have a library of reference books, like me, you would have to get some reference books. NM

I started working
for them after I got out of school 1 year ago and I'm ready to quit MTing because of it. Can't make line counts because of so many different dictators and accounts and the money is bad too.
Just started there and I LOVE the
everyone has been really helpful. I haven't gotten paid yet so I don't know about that but I really don't anticipate any problems.
I have been working there for about 10 months
Feel free to e-mail me.
I have been working for them for a few months now
and think I have finally found a home. I like to do the work I am assigned and go on with my life and they fit that bill for me. Nice folks and pay is on time. Last job I had that I thought was a keeper ended up fading out to a vr program. I hope to stay with TSSC for a long time. Good luck!
I have been there for 8 months now and still love it. sm
My insurance is about the same as with MQ, my rate is a little lower but my paychecks are much higher. I have one account and although it is a difficult one, it is one account and I am used to the doctors and very, very happy.
My pay is always on time and correct.
I was afraid to make a move but am thankful every day that I did!
been there about 6 months and love it!
sounds to me like with all the companies anymore it depends on your supervisor and your accounts. I am very happy at DSG! I am flexible and able to do several accts and have had no problems getting my lines; I also do almost all work types, which I think makes a difference.
good luck!
I have NO experience. I started out working
for a group of radiologists and working my way up to Medquist. I have a B.A. and M.A., but I must say that I studied anatomy and physiology, chemistry, nursing math, microbiology at the local community college which helped me on testing. I couldn't have passed MT tests without these courses. The rest of what I did was fast-talk my way in the door. Good Luck!!!
Exactly! When I first started working at home
with only 2 years clinic experience (no acute care at all), I was offered .075 cpl. Six years later, with that much in acute care experience and with the very same company, I was offered .0725. Something is just so wrong with this picture!
I'm not in QA, but I just started working PT for them and they seem great. sm
I have to admit the negative posts below kind of scared me, but ..... I guess we all have to go with our own experiences. So far, everyone has been friendly and helpful and the platform is easy to use, although I think the ShortHand works a bit slow ... we all have our little gripes.
Anyone who recently started working for DSG that can say how they like
it there and how is the workload and accounts, sound, etc.
when I started working the proper sm
word for us was Transcriptionist and the transcriber was the transcribing machine sitting on my desk. don't be so picky. Nobody cares.
I have been working for Transcend for about 3 months.
They paid me an hourly rate for the training phone call, then straight production. I was only allowed to do 5 reports a day. I stayed on QA for about 2 weeks. Some of the posters on this board claim that they did not have to wait that long.
They do pay on time. I do run out of work quite a bit during my shift, however, on weekends it picks up quite a bit.
You will love TransHealth. I have been there about 9 months.
Love it
I've been there 2 months now and love it!
So far, it is by far the best national I've worked for.
i just started working for a local hospital. sm
They pay for the entire phone bill and internet for an extra line to do their work.
I am 40 and just started working on a master's degree and
a certificate in medical coding at the same time. I plan to get my doctorate degree also. It is never too late to learn. Go for it!
I hear ya! When I first started working at home...sm
I felt pressured to the max, but what I finally did was to put my bills in date-due order and placed them where I could see them at all times while working. It sounds silly, but it caused me to discipline myself like I had never done before - and after awhile, it became habit to work as if I were in house and actually helped me to increase my income! It is really nice not to deal with the office politics and a supervisor at the next desk, too! Good luck to you!
I started with them 3 weeks ago, after working out my notice with MW. sm
I have had a lot of work, love the account and have no complaints at all. It was hard the first few days to get used to a new system and dictators, but I am at 1500 lines a day now with no problem. I had no problem with paperwork, although the hospital took almost to down to the wire to get my ID ready. Best move I ever made!
I just started working on the BayScribe platform.... sm
I was thrilled when the Infinity USB foot pedal I've had for a couple of years, worked just fine. This particular model has worked for several web-based platforms I've transcribed on. Maybe I got lucky?
I also just started with Landmark and right now could not be happier! I'm so sorry things didn't work out for you and I do understand that many variables play a huge part in the type of experience one MT may have from another. Good luck to you!
I also love GIMT and started yesterday
love them!!
HA! First year made $30,000, that is working six months SM
for hospital and the next six months for small MT office with a very big account. Oh, those were the days!
Been working almost 2 months now and almost at required lines. (sm)
Taking me longer to get used to program than I had anticipated. I know we have 90 days to actually make the grade, but am getting slightly worried. No one has called me on it, but I am sooo nervous. I am not a newbie, but maybe I am getting too old to learn new programs/etc.
Of course, checking the boards while I am working is not exactly helping me. I realize that and am only doing so on breaks now. Any helpful hints?
Why would you keep working for a company for 3 months without being paid? sm
I'm sorry this happened to you, but when the first month's check didn't arrive, that would have been it. I still enjoy transcribing (most days) but not enough to do it for free.
Good luck to you in getting your money That's an awful thing to happen to anyone.
I love Amphion! I've only been there 2 months now....
but am very happy. They are extremely helpful. Any concerns I have had (which have been only minimal things) have been addressed very quickly. A week after I was on my account, I hadn't complained at all, but got an email from my boss that said they had decided that we had to do a little more info screen input so they were adding a 3% differential to my base pay for that account! The benefits are good. I would definitely consider them if I were you.
I had to test for Keystrokes...have been there for 3 months...love it...
nm
A friend of mine very recently started working for them
I'll try to get ahold of her and see how it's going so far. She just started about a week or so ago.
If I hear anything, I'll let you know :-)
Probably because they love to overhire! We will all be struggling for work in a few months..nm
nm
Thank you for saying that. Most people here just love to trash people.
It is against board rules though.
The key is working multiple accounts. Three months is hardly long enough to get a handle sm
on the job. Maybe better to keep a parttime job until you are up to speed on the new job. I haven't run out of work in almost a year (and that was only for a few minutes), but I do multiple accounts. Great company, great people. Nice bennies.
I love Keystrokes...been there for 3 months and couldn't ask for a better place to work...
nm
This is a really sad state when after months people
nm
I think in the last few months, lots of MQ people have gone there. SM
A few ex-YOGGERS have been there for awhile, but some aren't there anymore. The ESL accounts at YOG, where I used to work, are NOTHING compared to FN. Not even close.
I worked there a few months ago. People very
nice, but disorganized. Kept losing my work. Sound files were really bad, only worked on one account so it could have been just that account. Platform so/so, but looking at upgrading within the year and I don't know what platform.
They are a fairly small company, I think less than 50 MTs.
