electronic medical record and not the actual transcriptionist. The medical record programs will be coming out of the walls soon, just look at Walmart. They are already anticipating and preparing to jump on the $$ wagon. AHDI is not looking out for the little guy and if you believe they are, there's a bridge I wonder if you'd be interested in, very cheap?

That was the point from the poster I had referenced
Not just in MT but in other positions, I've seen people exaggerate their skills or knowledge to land a job only to fail at it because they didn't have what the company needed. That costs the company money and earns a bad taste in the mouth of the person whose opinion of him/herself was over rated, leaving everyone with a bad and short-lived experience.
When you know what you are doing, the person/company you report to can use you to the best of your ability, your value is much higher and job security more real. You have a more compatible working relationship and they will go out of their way to keep you happy because they appreciate that you are making money for them, as well as for yourself. They appreciate your priding yourself on your quality which makes the client appreciate their business. It is a win-win situation. All that testing is done to weed out the fluff and stuff from the ones who have something more substantial to offer.
