What is their policy with regard to weekend work, and do they supply equipment?
Thanks.
Used to work there? How would you know what their work load is like now? I transcribe
150 radiology reports a day in 8 hours and there is still work in the system when I sign off.
They pay better than that now. They do not supply PC
but just like all the other companies, they do require Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs. They are nice people to work for. I have been there a few weeks.
They do supply equipment for a (sm)
nominal lease fee. No weekends unless you want to work them.
which companies supply pc's
Does anyone know which transcription companies who supply the pc's offer good line rates and are good to work for? I am almost burned out trying to find a good company to work for.
yes, they do supply the computer, but
it'll tke them FOREVER to get it out of your house when/if you quit. I quit in Feb. and am STILL looking at that stupid machine. I still continue to get company emails, my emails go unanswered.... Communication is severely lacking, always was IMO....
OSi used to supply computers - not sure if they still do

They only supply the tower. Nothing else. nm
Do they supply C-phone?

do they supply computers?

Will they supply a computer? Then
If they supply computer equipment, then that could be a reason. So far the only company that ever asked me for permission to do a check is a company that would have supplied the hardware. Otherwise, I have never heard of a company wanting to check a credit report.
Do they not supply another account if you run out? (NM)

Did everyone have to supply their own computer?
I had to turn down a job because I did not have XP on my personal computer. I only spoke to one supervisor via email and she said I needed my own PC.
Does anyone know where to find a good deal on XP?
Thanks.
Do you have to supply your own computer?
When I applied I was told I needed my own computer with XP. The computer I have, XP I do not. I cannot seem to find XP for a reasonable price either. Is this still what they ask for or has it changed?
Thanks
they supply the cphone, but...sm
the accounts they have with C-phones are really AWFUL!
Supply and Demand?
I would wonder if it's not more an issue of most MTs wanting to use their on computers. My Mom, sister, and I all are transcriptionists and there's no way we'd work on anyone else's computer. First, I've got to have my laptop. I don't want a big, clunky desktop taking up space in my house. We already have 4 other laptops anyway (we homeschool). There isn't any room for anything else. Also, I've got to be able to work anywhere I happen to be. I have a strict 8-hour shift but that doesn't mean I have to be home to work. I'd be too nervous traveling as much as I do with someone else's equipment.
Supply and demand
This is what drives wages more than anything ,and because of offshoring and VR, demand is down. Don't know about supply, but the schools keep cranking out MTs, so it's probably pretty steady. As long as MTSOs have a large pool of MTs to choose from, downward pressure on wages will continue. Has nothing to do with what we think we are worth. Companies will only pay what they have to pay. This is true in every industry.
I do 25-30, but I also transcribe 25-30. nm
But if you know how to transcribe very well,

Transcribe It
Saw a job post on here from Vicky Fageola (?) from Transcribe It. Anyone worked for them or know anything about them? I really need to settle and don't want to waste any more time. Thanks for any info.
Transcribe It
So did you say you DID work there? Have you left? Why did you leave? How was the work? Any info at all would be appreciated.
That's how we transcribe now sm
You don't get to determine what you will and will not type. Ask for the account specifics and follow them--then you get to keep working.
Transcribe+
Hi out there! Anyone familiar with Transcribe+ platform? MT-friendly?
TIA!!
Does she transcribe? That is like...
stealing lollipops from babies' mouths. Wassup over there? Do recruiters/sups really take your work. So glad i didn't bite, i thought they were overhiring.
they supply you with everything - you are not allowed to use your personal
computer for their work. Be forewarned - When you get their equipment, do not play or surf the internet for anything other than work related. They do monitor it. Use your own personal computer for personal emails and surfing outside of work related things.

companies that supply computer
Are there any good companies that allow part time work and furnish the computer, also?
yes they do, everything you need computer wise they supply. sm
very friendly user platform, pay always on time and correct, great bosses, great benefits, great sound quality, great QA people, all around a great place to work. Come on over to Webmedx. You will be glad you did.
Maybe they can supply you with the right copy of word.
.
Does Focus infomatics always supply
computers to MTs who work for them? I ask because I'd rather use my own computer. I'm a little leary of hooking up someone else's computer to mine even with a router. I don't want the risk of any viruses or company Spyware or anything like that affecting my own personal computer. Can anyone shed some good light on this matter? Thanks in advance for your help. God Bless.
To correct answers above, they do supply
C-phone and/or foot pedal. They do not supply computer. I was hired less than 2 months ago and they provided equipment and had placed an order for more so doesn't sound like they are phasing that out. Starting pay for everyone is 8 cpl and after 90 days is reevaluated based on quality and difficulty of the account and can go as high as 9.5 cpl. You should receive a letter via e-mail stating this when you get a response to your resume. I don't know when the instituted this as cpl varied at one time.
They use ShortHand as an expander. You can download a 30-day trial from the ShortHand website and KS can give you a key to make it permanent.
Does etrans supply the computer? TIA
xxxxxx
Webmedx does supply an expander, it is
ShortHand. I never worked for MQ and I've been gone from Webmedx for a month, but I left because there was consistently no work on any of my accounts. One day I got 4 reports all day long and that was sitting in front of the computer for an entire 12-hour shift and checking every few minutes. There was plenty of work on some accounts, but I was told I couldn't work on them.
They have their own platform called Enterprise and I there were several issues with slowness, it locking up, losing reports, etc. They kept updating promising fixes but I never saw any positive results. They had production tiers, but because of so many problems with the account and lack of work there was no way to reach them. I believe they have restructured the way it is done though so it may be easier now, provided there is work.
I am no fan of Webmedx, but from what I've read about MQ there is no way I would consider them. Check the archives or read the MQ board here.
MDI doesn't supply a computer,
so you have to have your own. I take it your current company does supply your computer, in which case - yes - you should use your own computer.
Which companies supply computer? sm
Looking for a dependable company that supplies the computer and everything you need. Are there any ones left?
Thanks.

I only transcribe about 800-900 lines/day.
As you can see, I'm not fast but my quality is fine.
Any thoughts?
transcribe 800-900 lines
Do you have a lot of normals and/or are your reports long? Plus do your doctors dictate clearly? I can't get that many lines a day and I can type fast. But it takes a lot of time to proof, look things up, etc. Honestly, how DO you get that many lines a day? I work as fast as I can, but it's hard when the reports are short, no normals, proofing, etc. What am I doing wrong?
That is low. I transcribe faster than that.
cc
what platform do you transcribe in?
You consistently do 350-400 lph? That is GREAT!
Transcribe it Quick
I was wondering if anyone had heard back from Transcribe It Quick or has worked for them before. They posted on the job board on 05/09 for per diem transcriptionists. I received a phone call from a very nice woman who was the owner of the company. She told me she wanted to hire me, told me all the specifics, welcomed me to the company, etc. and she even had me register with the site and download their player. She was supposed to call me back that night, and I haven't heard word one back from her. It sounded like a great job opportunity with great pay. I called and left a message on her answering machine and I still haven't heard anything. I thought it was really strange, and I was wondering if anyone had received a phone call back from her and was offered a job.
No way. It sux. Still transcribe from scratch sm
just get paid less for doing the same work. We are paying for their faulty software. Do NOT believe the recruiter.
I appears you don't transcribe
From your post, I gather that you are either QA or QA/recruiting (and maybe hourly?). I agree that there are some inflated resumes floating around and many MTs do not put out quality work. Neither of these issues is exclusive to American MTs, though. I also agree that many MTs quit a job quickly - I'm guilty of this, as well. There may be a problem with the platform, the interface, the Internet connection, the sound quality, discrepancies in the schedule agreed upon compared to days/hours actually worked, promised percentage of ESL, ability to utilize templates or playouts, workflow, and pay. These are all issues that can't be foreseen until you actually go to work for a company. Experienced MTs discuss as many issues as possible with the recruiter prior to hire and hope that the recruiter is honest/informed enough to provide the information necessary, but often that is not the case. I'm patient with technical problems, as I know they'll be resolved eventually. But, when you encounter ongoing roadblocks to making a decent living and voicing your concerns to your supervisor/their supervisor/the recruiter gets you nowhere, it's time to move on. In my opinion, at that point the company has voided the contract, not me. Your recruiter friend who generally hires twice as many MTs as she needs and ends up holding onto a fourth of them - she's either misstating the conditions of the job or overhiring and starving out the ones who can't afford to sit and wait for something to show up in their queue. Either way, the MT is the one who loses out.

Audioworx with Transcribe It
Anyone heard of this program? Sounds similar to WinScribe the way it was described to me, but I wonder if anyone is familiar with this software and/or this company, Transcribe It. Not sure where they are located. Woman's name is Vicky Fageol. Any info. is appreciated!!
if you transcribe around 1 hr of dictation per day are you pt or ft?

I'M PAID TO TRANSCRIBE..sm
Anything else is our gift to the MTSOs and their stockholders. Sure, they try to BS us and tell us its part of the job. It's part of the job only because they make it part of our job...gratis. Our only responsibility, as far as demographics are concerned, is checking that it is the right patient, a number will usually suffice. The visit number, which causes so much confusion and an unfair burden to the MT, should be the responsibility of the hospital or facility clerical department, but of course, it's easier to pass it on to us.
They use Dictaphone's ExText and will supply the pedal. nm
